Chapter 4 - Redemption and Peace

Right above him, the King Tier Monster had both of its horns grown back to a quarter of its original length.

Taking into consideration its sheer size which made Zlatan look like an ant before a divinity. With just a quarter of its abilities restored in Berserk Mode, it could pull such a stunt in a twinkle of an eye— the very reasons Zlatan was wary of it.

its jaws were opened up and without hesitation, it rained down a river of flames at Zlatan.

Deciding to take it head-on, he quickly stretched out his left hand wearing a space ring on it, and in seconds a scroll shot out towards the incoming dragon flames. It was a best quality High Grade Scroll, having only ice magic runes on it, a feat attainable by a Rune Master.

Coming into contact with the flames, it activated instantly surrounding it with ice up all the way to even nearing the dragon's mouth. For if it hadn't shut its mouth in time, it would have gone straight through the throat into its core. Holding the flames, it went dropping down right into the woods, cracking open and setting it ablaze. After all, dragon flames could never be frozen up but could be contained with ice for a while of course — unless there was a constant supply of ice somehow.

Dealing with that round of flames, Zlatan was always going to be in for more from the Berserk Dragon, as long as its core was kept inside it.

'It seems that's all this Dragon's got—just Flames. Zlatan thought. 'No wait, the horns weren't enough for a full display of its abilities.' His thoughts wondered to how intense the dragon flames felt, even after it being 20 meters away.

'Looks like its putting everything on its flames this time round. Hah! You just made your death so easy.' A smile cropped up his face.

Not waiting for another spray of fire, Zlatan charged at the dragon propelling himself with a spiritual energy blast. 20-meters away, two scrolls appeared in his left hand and at the exact moment the flames poured out, he also threw it out.

With both going before him, one activated right before the flames hit it, a portal opening up. The other flying past the dragon, it also activated with a similar portal opening. The flames have been sucked right into the first, instantly came through the second, hitting itself with the attack.

*ROARRRRRRR!!!

It let out a pained roar once again, the aroma of burnt and well-done meat filling the air. Now 2-meters away from the dragon, it was the chance Zlatan had been looking for to enact revenge. It was also what he knew would rid him of this misery and darkness plunging his heart — redemption. The Storm Dragon still distracted, with its mouth gaping and swaying left and right, reacting to the pain.

Zlatan used another spiritual energy blast to position himself right above it.

He looked up to the dark sky, taking in its view for one last time, he'd miss it still this was the only sacrifice he saw worthy to be made.

"Ten-thousand Spirit Sword Slash! 15th Form[Elongated Blade]!" He once again activated his spirit technique, the blade of his sword now 15 meters long. Closing his eyes, he positioned himself in the air, a strong copper aura releasing in chunks with this spiritual energy falling at his feet. With that he made the largest spiritual energy blast he'd ever made, heading straight for the dragon's mouth and into its throat.

*GRRAAWW!

The storm dragon monster groaned in pain, being gutted inside out by Zlatan.

His blade could be seen appearing and disappearing, slicing its body into pieces with each turn it took. However, having said the dragon's head had been literally severed off by now. Such an essential part wouldn't fall or die, unless the core was ripped out. As this was what made High Tier Monsters, almost indestructible.

Moving through its long neck with spiritual blast after blast, Zlatan did nothing to bear with the scorching heat within the dragon. Nearing the core, it was worse than before, his hands already now on fire with his old skin burning off.

Finally going through its neck into its chest, the constantly burning Monster Core could be seen hidden behind different types of large organs.

Without hesitation, Zlatan got into a stance for he couldn't tell how much time he had left. Cutting down its organs, just to reach the core would be a daunting task. But that wasn't the only way, for he could cut through everything in one go— including the monster core itself.

"Spirit Spear! 35th Form [Shattering Thrust]!!" He screamed out, a forced outburst of copper aura spiritual energy engulfing him so much, that his consciousness was barely coping with it. He had drawn out more spiritual energy to use at once than his own body could take, being significantly damage to top it up.

'No! I'm not done yet! Not...done…yet.' His vision blurred and the energy around him seemed to be loosing control, seeping away wastefully as he fell back. Nonetheless, with the last of his consciousness, he channeled all the strength left on his jaw as connecting the top and down. He bit so hard on his tongue that blood could be seen trickling out of the corners of his mouth, bringing him up once again.

"Ahhhh!!!" Zlatan cried out loudly. Resuming his stance once again, not feeling the pain anymore with his hands, legs and part of his body now black and coal-like from the burning. He positioned himself and with another strong spiritual energy blast, the tip of the sword facing the organs. Zlatan spun like a drill and with his speed, he drilled a hole through the monster's organs and core, continuing till a large hole could be seen just below its tail.

Emerging out of the dragon from behind, he'd cracked up and King Tier Monster Core. His entire body had already burnt up, the flames now rising to his head.

Still, a smile propped up on his face once again and for the first time, Zlatan felt , free, redeemed and at peace.

*KRACKA-BOOM!!!

The monster core exploded, being so powerful that the 5,000 feet mountain was blown away into pieces instantly.

However, with the sudden impact everything stopped and came together like an eartly quantum bomb before another stronger blast was released. It did not only leave a trace of the Coldrock City. It razed the entire Magiz Kingdom to nothing but mere dust, extending the chaos to the borderlands of the Auburn Empire and other neighboring kingdoms.
