Chapter 21: The Prophecy
The leader of the Order of the Moon stepped closer to me, its eyes gleaming with an otherworldly intensity.
"Emily, you are the chosen one," the leader said, its voice low and hypnotic. "You are the one who will bring balance to our kind and restore the ancient ways."
I felt a surge of confusion mixed with curiosity. What prophecy was the leader talking about? And what did it have to do with me?
The leader smiled, as if it could read my thoughts.
"The prophecy of the Moonchild," the leader said. "It is an ancient legend that speaks of a great imbalance in our kind. An imbalance that only the Moonchild can restore."
I felt like I had been punched in the gut. A prophecy? What did it mean for my future?
The leader's eyes seemed to bore into my soul.
"It means that you have a great responsibility ahead of you, Emily," the leader said. "A responsibility to restore balance to our kind and bring peace to our world."
I felt a surge of fear mixed with determination. I was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
