Chapter 12: The Explanation
Victor took a step closer to me, his eyes gleaming with a mixture of anger and sadness.
"We were separated at birth," he said. "Our parents were part of a secret society, one that protected werewolves like us. But they were killed in a raid, and we were separated."
I felt a wave of emotions wash over me. I had always known that I was adopted, but I had never known anything about my biological family.
"Why are you telling me this now?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.
Victor's expression turned cold. "Because I need your help," he said. "Our family's secret society is still out there, and they're in danger. I need you to help me protect them."
I hesitated, unsure of what to do. Part of me wanted to help Victor, but another part of me was wary of getting involved in something that could put me and my pack in danger.
