Chereads / Mr. Billionaire's Fake Fiancée / Chapter 3 - He Looks Like A Lunatic

Chapter 3 - He Looks Like A Lunatic

"Oh, baby, what's wrong with you?" Laura seems a little guilty. She used too much strength with her push earlier, but her strength is completely different from that of a normal person. She is someone who breaks the normal rules.

Seeing Hyman rubbing his head, she was quite worried.

Damn, what if something happens because of her push?

Hyman's face turned cold. He no longer had the mood to tease her. He's afraid for his own life.

After all, he had an accident, and his body was injured. If he were pushed a few more times, he probably wouldn't make it through the year.

He looked at Laura with a headache and said icily, "You have nothing to do here. Go back."

Laura was a bit 'hesitant', "But your uncle asked me to stay with you at the hospital, and I also want to take care of you."

[Boss, hurry up and firmly chase me away! Let me perform the act of crying and leaving!]

Hyman, "..." What kind of devil is she?

He's annoyed, but now he can't help but laugh a little. He almost laughed out loud. But that doesn't fit his domineering image at all.

But if he laughs, today's drama will take a weird turn.

He kept a straight face, but if she looked closely, she could see his lips twitching. Fortunately, the movement was not significant, so Laura couldn't guess what was happening.

"Forget it, if you don't want to leave, then stay," he said.

Laura, "..."

[Is it illegal to kill the target in advance? Illegal, oh, no...]

Hyman, "..." What is she doing?

Her regretful tone annoyed Hyman.

So, Laura 'willingly' stayed here.

But neither of them was in the mood to have any romantic interaction. Laura sat on the sofa, playing with her phone, and also sought advice from the family group on how to complete the mission quickly.

Hyman's identity was quite secretive, belonging to the level of being invisible on the internet. Even if he was super wealthy and threw money on the streets while driving a sports car, it wouldn't make it to the headlines. So there weren't many sources for Laura to gather information.

She just glanced sideways at this man and could tell that he had been privileged since childhood, with a rebellious temperament. He belonged to the type that was not easy to deal with. As for the rest, Laura couldn't tell for the time being.

Oh, the most important thing is that he seems to have some mental issues. He looks like a lunatic.

In the family chat group, Laura and four others joined the group, making it a total of five people.

She had two younger sisters and two younger brothers, all of whom she had picked up herself since they were little.

Why did she do it herself? It was because Laura had known since she was little that she was different from others.

She didn't belong in this world.

From infancy, she had memories and the mindset of an adult. She knew she didn't belong here; she was a "freak." But she grew up just like everyone else here, except for a few abnormal rules.

Knowing she didn't belong here, she had forgotten where she came from. So, from childhood to adulthood, Laura lived as she pleased. There's a saying here, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do."

She was also considered an orphan, without parents. She didn't even know how she came into existence. When she had memories, she was a helpless baby, being carried away by a wolf and raised for a few days. Then she was discovered by an old scavenger lady who raised her until she was eight. After the old woman passed away, she wandered alone and gradually picked up these little brothers and sisters one by one.

She was abnormal in that she could see things that others couldn't see.

The tasks she took on were not ordinary ones. She specialized in taking on tasks involving spirits.

Hyman's task was one entrusted to her by a spirit.

Spirits can be seen as a different version of ghosts. Spirits are more like souls, no matter how disabled or tragic their appearance was during their lifetime, spirits remained complete, clean, and transparent beings.

However, the conditions for the formation of spirits were very difficult and they were completely useless. Other people couldn't see them at all and they did not influence the real world.

Laura's existence was unique.

Spirits appeared only in the past decade, and Laura remembered clearly that she hadn't encountered a spirit until she was three years old, gradually seeing them afterward.

There were five members in her family group chat, she sent a message.

Big Shot Laura: This task of mine is a bit difficult. Can you think of a way to complete it earlier?

Wilson: The task is that you are pretending to be someone's fiancée?"

Big Shot Laura: Yes...

Wilson, Laura's third younger brother, the full name was Wilson Wright. He was a super excellent student. But, he was also a firm materialist. He didn't believe in gods or Buddhas, only in this country. He was a good young man and was happy to help others.

Wilson: Isn't he about to die? Sister, you mustn't think too deeply, it's against the law to kill, it's against the law!!

Big Shot Laura: ...

Under the restraint of such a good brother, Laura could only earn money honestly and legally, otherwise, with her abilities, she would have been rich in minutes. But now she was living a miserable life.

Wilson: Sister, use your hands to type and prove your innocence.

Big Shot Laura: ...

If she wanted to kill Hyman, did she still need to use her hands?

Big Shot Laura: No. I was just randomly saying. I meant to complete the task while he's still alive.

Wilson: But what about the inheritance you're supposed to receive? If he doesn't die, what's the inheritance?

Big Shot Laura: Hmm... you're right.

Laura and her younger brother were contemplating here, while Hyman was instructing someone on his phone to investigate Laura's information.

When his fiancée arrived, he didn't receive much notification about her, so naturally he didn't have much knowledge either.

Now, apart from seeing something as outrageous as her inner thoughts, even based on her personality alone, the Martin family people should not have chosen such a girl to be his fiancee. She was too unpredictable and difficult to control, and she even treated him as a mission target.

Thinking of the word "inheritance," Hyman cast a fierce gaze toward Laura, with an indescribable hostility.

Ordinary people would probably feel terrified when they see his gaze, but Laura, feeling his eyes on her, looked up with an indifferent expression.

[Mad. He is the typical lunatic.]

Hyman, "..." He would find an opportunity to humiliate this woman thoroughly.

Just at this moment, there was a knock on the door to the hospital room. A rhythmic knocking sound, with an elegant pace of neither urgency nor slowness.

Hyman, "Come in."

The person outside responded and pushed the door open. Both Laura and Hyman looked over to see the family butler standing by the door in a suit. From head to toe, he exuded meticulousness befitting the upper echelons of society.

When he entered the room, he respectfully said, "Hello, Mr. Hyman, Miss Laura."

Hyman didn't even reply, only Laura said "Hmm" in response.

The butler displayed a brief moment of subtle hesitation. For Hyman, he could understand, but even Laura gave him the feeling of being nonchalantly dismissed. However, Laura was an orphan with no background or money.

"Mr. Hyman." The butler first walked towards Hyman. "Your Second Uncle, Mr. Mike Martin, has returned from abroad to see you."

Hyman casually threw out, "Don't know him."

The butler, "..."

Hyman indeed had amnesia now, not recognizing many people. Otherwise, they wouldn't have arranged for a stranger to become his fiancée. But he happened to remember his own identity and wealth very clearly, purposely forgetting selective things.

The Martin family had suspected many times if his amnesia was genuine, but his temper was always fierce. Since he didn't object to this arrangement of having a fiancée fool him, it indicated that there were some things he couldn't remember.

Of course, they had also considered that Hyman might be doing it intentionally, but they temporarily didn't know the purpose behind this scheme.

They could only continue with this charade.
