Chapter 3 - Her excape

Rolan walked into the house after a long day at the office. The servants working in the house greeted him. Rolan just nodded in response to their greetings, shifting his attention from them and walking upstairs to the bathroom he and Rose shared.

As the door opened with his push, Rolan surveyed the room, finding it empty. There was no sign of her, so he went to the bathroom, opening the door, but Rose still wasn't there. Only her scent lingered in the bathroom.

Rolan's emotions snapped immediately upon not finding Rose inside the room. He turned around to the door of the room, staring at the maid who was standing there.

"Where is Rose?" His voice was sharp and cold as he asked. The look in his eyes made the servant feel fear in her body. The servant trembled, barely able to respond.

"Madam left in the afternoon," she informed, choking on her words. Her arms and legs were shaking with fright. The alpha was extra angry today. Although every day he had anger issues, today he seemed really furious and was asking about the madam.

He had never been worried about the madam. The maid's thoughts ran in confusion, biting her lips, not wanting Rolan to know what she was thinking in her heart.

"Is she back?" Rolan growled, trying to keep himself calm. He didn't like Rose. He didn't know why, but since the afternoon, he had been having a bad feeling, as if he was going to lose something very important.

Rose wasn't important to him, and neither did he love her. There was no way he was going to love a woman who plotted against him, tying him in a bond with her. But he couldn't stop his instincts from bringing him home, wanting to find out what was going on, and now the servants were telling him that Rose wasn't around.

His blood boiled at the thought. Rose never went out late; she was reserved, always obediently waiting for him at home or coming to give him his afternoon meal. He had waited for her, but she didn't come.

"We don't know yet, Alpha, if she's back or not," The maid stammered, trying to compose herself and not wanting to meet his gaze.

"Useless! Is that how you look after your mistress?" Rolan roared, pointing his finger at the servants. He didn't want to believe it, but the alarm bells in his heart were growing louder and louder.

Maybe everything was just another plan of Rose's to gain his attention because she had done it many times before—or so he thought.

"Sorry, Master," The maid bowed in apology, looking down, refusing to meet his eyes.

The servants were not happy. The Alpha never cared, and now that Madam was gone, he suddenly cared, and they were the ones enduring his scolding.

Rolan couldn't bear dealing with the servants anymore. Fresh with anger over Rose's absence, an apprehension came to his mind. Without another word, he left the frightened group of servants and went back upstairs to search the room again.

"Rose. Where are you? Come out if this is a prank," he called out with a cold tone, standing inside their bedroom.

The apprehension that crossed his mind was that Rose might be hiding somewhere deep inside the room and had instructed the servants not to reveal her location.

Rolan stood there for more than 30 minutes, trying to lure Rose out from wherever he thought she might be hiding.

No response came from Rose, just as he had feared.

"Shit!" Rolan cursed, hitting his hand against the wall.

Where had Rose gone? Where could she possibly have gone that would keep her from returning at this time?

Rolan's emotions were a total mess. Walking away from the wall, he left the room with a bang as he closed the door.

"Alfred, where is Rose?" He asked the butler.

Rose could bribe anyone in the house to play her games, but not the butler.

"Alpha, the madam, left this afternoon. She said she went out with her friend, "The butler said, his head low. The old man did not want Rolan to see the sneer he carried on his face.

"And she's not back by now?"

Rolan asked, looking deeply at the servants. He was sure that after he found where Rose had gone, he would fire them. They were so useless.

"Yes, master," the servant responded, and it gave Rolan no peace of mind.

Where could Rose have gone? He asked himself, thinking of all the places she could be.

An idea soon came into his mind. Rolan grew serious as he took his phone and dialed Zara's number. Zara was Rose's only best friend, and if there was anywhere Rose could be, it would be with Zara.

The phone rang with beeps, and Rolan waited patiently, looking down at his phone.

"Zara is not picking up my calls." He gritted his teeth, flinging the phone and making it crumble.

The door to the room opened at that moment, and Jennifer walked in, quickly spotting Rolan, who was sitting on the bed looking like he would beat anyone who crossed his path, including her.

"Rolan, are you there? Can you come help me with something?" Jennifer maintained her distance and asked, standing near the door.

"Okay, fine," Rolan immediately said, getting up from his chair, his steps deliberate, as though he wasn't the one throwing his phone a moment ago.

He held Jennifer's hand, guiding her out of the office. In his heart, he was thinking:

"Rose would probably come back on her own, wherever she's gone."

---

At the airport, the place was bustling and lively. A woman and her friend walked together, with the other friend supporting another.

"Rose, I hope you're not regretting this. Why aren't you stepping on the plane?" Zara, at one point, turned and asked Rose the question. This was a serious and difficult situation. Rose had decided to leave; there should be no turning back from here.

"No, I'm fine. I regret nothing, Zara. I'm doing what's best for me and my child," Rose smiled, looking straight at the plane. She was certain she wouldn't regret this decision. She was born to make it.

"Then if you say so, Rose, I trust you. Just don't stop the pilot halfway and say you want to take a turn and go back," Zara giggled, rubbing Rose's locks. Now she was sure that nothing would go wrong and that all her friend needed was her support.

"Stop teasing. I wouldn't do that," Rose cast aside, taking Zara's hands away, though the smile in her eyes couldn't be hidden.

"Switzerland is going to be wonderful for you, I promise," Zara said lastly, and the two of them proudly stepped into the plane.

---

"Enough of it, Jennifer. This is the ninth time you have fallen on me. And the ninth time I have heard your camera clicking."

Inside the office, Rolan cautioned Jennifer, who had been having "accidental" falls on him several times, often on his crotch, and creating awkward positions. He couldn't understand why Jennifer was doing this.

He had forgiven Jennifer when she came back, giving long explanations about what had happened to her. The story was too long for Rolan to listen to, so he simply cut her short. Still, in the end, Jennifer hadn't had enough and begged him if they could still be friends like before, which he accepted. He thought her behavior was maybe because she felt close to him... but it was getting annoying.

"Ah, sorry, Rolan. It was just a clumsy accident," Jennifer said in response to Rolan's complaints, giving him a massage. Her hands couldn't stop themselves from rubbing twice.

Rolan hissed and removed her hands as though he had not done it intentionally.

"Well, too clumsy. Go practice on some documents," he said, grabbing some random documents from his desk and throwing them at her.

Jennifer subconsciously caught them.

Her face grew secretly pissed from where Rolan couldn't see.

She was trying to seduce him here, and Rolan was acting like a monk, almost as if he couldn't see any of her advances.

Has that stupid Rose finally won his heart? Was that why things were getting difficult for her?

"Have you heard from your sister?" Rolan asked, thinking in his head that he would hold Rose and punish her once Jennifer told him the right location.

They were sisters, after all—maybe she might know.

"No, I haven't heard from her," Jennifer shrugged, making a concerned, innocent expression.

Rolan should stop asking about Rose and focus on her.

"I'm going home to find Rose. You do your work properly," Rolan declared, getting off his seating area, and Jennifer had no way to object.

---

"Are you telling me that Rose still isn't back?!" Rolan roared, breaking the vase that was bought with a lot of money.

He continued, his eyes flaring.

"And you all just don't know her location?!"

He couldn't stop his emotions. He walked up the stairs, giving the servants a final glare. They would all be punished for this because of their negligence.

Rolan reached the room and sat on the bed, sitting in silence, breathing in and out to calm himself down. At that moment, his eyes were attracted to some yellow paper poking out from the pillow. Rolan raised the pillow, finding words written on the piece of paper. He read those words aloud.

And his heart kept turning cold, like a glacier, as he reached the end of the words.

"I'm leaving you, Rolan."

Rolan mumbled the last words of the piece of paper, squeezing it and throwing it aside. His

hands clenched, his teeth gritted.

"Rose, you are so stupid. What have you done?" Rolan mumbled, with slight tears dripping from his eyes.
