Chapter 31 - This Chapter Is Very Watery

Rope rode Entei and galloped towards where Hoopa Unbound was. Time waited for no one, and neither did Hoopa Unbound. While he was rushing that way, Hoopa Unbound had also begun to wreak havoc on everything around him while heading towards Pewter City in the distance.

Rope just felt all kinds of you hard, Hoopa Unbound's behavior seemed too simple and clear.

Destroy and advance. Right now Hoopa Unbound was acting like a robot that had been given those two commands. If it weren't for the semantically unclear, but out-and-out angry ranting that filled his mouth, maybe Rope would actually think of him as a simulated robot.

Rope thinks it's suspicious.

[What's the reason behind this?]

Rope was now filled with this question. There are triggers behind all accidents. The planned accident was because Rope and all the others didn't consider that behind the man riding the flashing Pidgeot, there were other people standing, not to mention the fact that all the Pokémon Hunters in the other regions were essentially handled by the person called Nobuhide.

So did Nobuhide do this too?

Rope doesn't know.

But it was really too late to investigate now.

Entei was fast, and just in the time it took Rope to think about it, they must have reached a small hill, which was exactly where Hoopa Unbound had to go to advance.

"We got pretty lucky. I'm surprised this guy didn't use the 'Hyperspace Hole' to teleport through."

Rope looked at Hoopa Unbound, who was madly destroying, but continued to advance in the direction of Pewter City as if it was being manipulated by something, and while he was thankful in his heart, he was even more puzzled.

This was very different from the behavioral pattern in the theatrical version.

In the theater version of Hoopa Unbound, all he could think about was killing Hoopa and becoming Hoopa, and his Hyperspace Hole skill was even more handy, as he fought with Lugia while using the Hyperspace Hole to spy on the journey of Hoopa and Ash's friendship.

But now that it's over, Rope can only let go of these doubts.

"Rope! We're coming!"

Red, riding a stocky Charizard, was waving his hand towards Rope in greeting. Behind him was Cynthia, who was co-riding on Milotic's back, and Diantha, who was riding on Togekiss' back, and Meray, who was riding on the back of a Braviary.

Cynthia's eyes lit up at the sight of Rope riding on the back of the majestic Entei. Diantha, on the other hand, looked at the Entei being ridden by Rope in amazement; she could see that this Entei was no worse than her own Gardevoir. Only when her own Gardevoir Mega evolved would it be a solid winner.

This didn't look like a Pokémon that could be subdued by a new trainer who had been traveling for less than two months, but looking at Entei's calm expression, it likewise didn't look like it hadn't submitted.

Diantha tsked in her heart, and then she saw Rope waving her hand this way in greeting.

[This is definitely not a greeting to me.]

There was no relationship between herself and Rope, something Diantha was still very self-aware of.

Turning her head to look, as expected, Cynthia was also greeting Rope with a smile on her face.

Diantha instantly had the feeling of being stuffed with dog food.

If anything, this whole thing could barely be related to her as Kalos Champion. Then Cynthia, the Sinnoh Champion, was totally looking at Rope's face to help.

That's why Lance was also filled with gratitude and embarrassment when he assigned her to this frontline battlefield. But this kind of evacuation of residents was better done by the Elite Four and Champions who made the populace look familiar in their two places, Kanto and Johto. And Cynthia was essentially unsure of Rope's safety. After all, Rope going on an infiltration was already worrying Cynthia.

But it seemed that the very strong Entei was Rope's security, so Cynthia was more or less relieved.

Soon, all four of them came to Rope's side, who rolled over and got off of Entei's back and gave a hug to Red, whom the duo hadn't seen in over a month as well. After exchanging smiles with Cynthia, Rope walked over to the Kalos duo.

Rope extends his hand towards Diantha and smiles, "Hello Champion Diantha, first time meeting, my name is Rope and I'm a new trainer."

In fact, calling out someone's position in this situation seemed awkward, but Rope and Diantha didn't know each other well enough to be called by their first names. But Rope and Diantha weren't familiar enough to be called by their first names, and due to the influence of the original world, Rope couldn't say the word "Miss". In the original world Rope also called people 'ladies; mostly, a little fun, but not so much as to feel bad.

But the name "Miss" is not suitable for the Pokémon world to call people. After all, the cultural atmosphere was different.

Diantha didn't care too much about Rope's name calling problem, but he also heard Rope's discomfort, so he shook Rope's hand and smiled greatly and said, "Call me Diantha, the famous Dr. Rope."

Rope smiled and said, "I don't deserve it. I don't deserve it."

Then he looked at the plainly dressed Meray on the other side, and before he had time to react, little Hoopa flew out from behind Meray's back and flopped down on Rope's shoulder, saying with a sobbing voice, "Hono! It's so scary, the power is so scary."

Rope only had to give Meray a cursory greeting. It was good that Meray didn't care either. After all, although in Rope's eyes, all these characters who had all appeared in the anime she had watched were equal, in reality, neither Rope's status as a doctor nor the remaining few people's status as champions were on a level that Meray could touch.

They were Arceus' familiars, able to use the power of people of Arche Valley yes, but all of these people, were no longer people that could be approached by a nebulous familial status.

In Meray's eyes, these people in front of her were the ones at the tip of the League's pyramid.

Red and Cynthia, two of the strongest and purest champions in the League, and Rope, the youngest of the Prowlers. And Rope, the youngest Pokémon Professor and seemingly having taken in a powerful Entei. they themselves were some of the strongest of the strongest wave.

Rope then began to question young Hoopa.

"Hoopa, are you talking about that big Hoopa being scary?" Rope asked curiously, at this point the Hoopa Unbound hadn't gotten into the ambush range they had set up earlier, so Rope wasn't in a hurry, and with the sharpening of the knife and talking to Hoopa, he might be able to find some sort of solution.

"Evil power is lonely in the pot, and he's angry. But I can't feel the anger now! He's unconscious, I don't dare probe his thoughts anymore, his mind is full of chaotic madness now."

Then Rope's brow furrowed.

  1. '塞了一嘴狗粮', Chinese phrase for being the third wheel
  2. raw: '小火', which translates to "little fire" (Hoopa's title for Rope), in Japanese, it translates to "小さな火事" (although it translates to "small fire", it refers more to a small fire accident), so I used the word "炎" (hono)
