Chapter 32 - Battle Begins

Hoopa's words put doubt in Rope's mind. He wouldn't take episodes he'd seen before as biblical, but he wouldn't take all the dissimilarities as coincidence either.

This was very strange, but Rope didn't have time to think about it now. He looked at Hoopa Unbound approaching the ambush range, thinking that the four big guys had better be reliable and quickly get the Prison Bottle back. Rope was not worried about their betrayal. They had made enough money, and what they pursued was the right to walk in the sun, especially the opportunity for their children and grandchildren to live a normal life in the sun. After investigating them, Rope found that the four of them had indeed not committed any murder or arson.

So Rope also promised to give them a proper job. After all, he was already able to set up his own institute, so there was certainly no problem recruiting a few people. And the ability to erase the bad deeds of these few guys, Rope still had it. After all, Rope had already become a doctor, so this little thing could still be done.

On the other hand, Red on the other side looked at Hoopa Unbound and said with a grave expression on his face, "Rope, this guy is strong."

Rope followed his gaze, only to see Hoopa Unbound condensed a Shadow Ball in his chest, then blasted it onto a hill, followed by a puff of smoke and dust, the hill went without a trace.

"Of course it's strong, this guy, he's one of the gods in the true sense of the word."

Rope's words once again caught the attention of the crowd.

A true god? What does this mean.

Rope looked at the puzzled eyes of the crowd and smiled, "Let's prepare for the battle first, I'll tell you more about it later, this is also one of my latest research results. About Legendary Pokémon's pack and the uniqueness of the gods."

Once the crowd heard that it was a research result that hadn't been published yet, they naturally didn't ask any more questions, Cynthia and Red who were present weren't considered outsiders, but this kind of thing wasn't something to be asked casually. And Rope had no intention of hiding it, it was just that the current Hoopa Unbound was, indeed, already in their ambush circle.

Rope fiddled with the communicator in his ear and picked up another channel.

"Professor Rope, the target is about to enter the ambush circle." A steady, serious voice came through.

Rope pursed his lips, then said, "Attack at the first moment the opponent enters the ambush circle, squads 1 and 3 will start, squads 2 and 10 will finish, try to lure the opponent to the riverside to provide a field advantage for the water attribute Pokémon. You guys retire when you're done."

"Roger that."

"Stay safe." Rope's tone was slightly lower.

"Understood, Professor." The man's tone was slightly lighter.

Everyone had their heads in their pants.

When Rope was done giving orders, he looked to Red, Cynthia, Diantha and little Hoopa.

"Hoopa's with me, I'll command him and the Pokémon he's summoned, I'm sure this guy still has a nebulous attraction to the big guy. Leave it to me. If Hoopa Unbound's sanity still allows him to summon other Legendary Pokémon. The three of you must stop at least three of the Legendary Pokémon that Hoopa summons. I will hold Hoopa Unbound with the Water, Earth, and Ice troops. Everyone just have to hold on for half an hour before Lance and the others arrive."

Rope had just finished giving the order, and before he could say anything else, Red asked with a serious look, "What if Prison Bottle isn't retrieved?"

Rope was silent for a moment. Then he said, "My initial idea was to let Hoopa influence it. After all, that is Hoopa's power. Even if it is hateful and evil, as long as the source remains unchanged, there is room for reversal. But now Hoopa said that the emotion of evil thoughts is not anger, but chaos and madness..."

"Anyway... if things go bad I'll try to throw the ball, I've asked Professor Oak to teleport me a Master Ball. that's our last attempt. If it still doesn't work..."

Rope's eyes flashed with a fierce look, "Energy is just energy after all, stall him, attack him, there's always a way to drain him."

Red nodded, "It's good that you have an idea, we'll stick to the plan and you be safe. I know you wouldn't accept a swap mission if I said so, so you must be careful."

Rope looked at Red's serious expression and slowly nodded, then he felt someone tugging at his coat corner, he turned his head, and sure enough, Cynthia was also looking at Rope with a worried face, Rope smiled and grabbed Cynthia's hand, and looked at Cynthia's pretty face that was flushed with a touch of evening sunlight, he smiled and said, "Don't worry, I'm not going to be brave. won't try to be brave. I'm sure of myself, and, with the plan I proposed, there's no reason to let others go into danger."

Cynthia nodded with a red face, and after calming down a bit, she said, "You must be careful, I will go to support you as soon as possible."

"Don't be in a hurry, haste makes mistakes. I'll be safe, and you prioritize your own safety..."

"Ahem!" Diantha coughed heavily. "Both of you, flirting depends on the occasion. This is not the time for you two to feed us dog food.

Rope and Cynthia laughed in embarrassment.

Just like that, the heaviness of life and death had washed away. And on that side, after a loud bang, several small black dots flew up from a hill, while Hoopa Unbound fell to the ground in response, and it was obvious that the guy's intelligence had indeed been cut down.

Then it got up in a rage and chased towards the few distant figures.

Seeing this, Rope also breathed a sigh of relief, it seemed that the plan could still be carried out, his grasp of the situation hadn't gone too wrong yet.

Everyone was also relieved, it looked like Rope could still continue to be trusted. Everyone treated Rope as a wise man, after all, there were really very few people willing to use their brains to think of strategies in this situation.

And Rope was already one of the more reliable ones they knew.

"What do we do now?" Diantha asked, speaking up.

"We need to wait until their plan works and then take over the battlefield, if their operation doesn't work then we need to take the bull by the horns. Not having a water source is too restrictive for a water-based Pokémon. And the subsequent ability to restrict movement also requires a water source. In short... we need to lead it to a water source first."

Rope said it was fairly clear. He didn't mean to hide the battle plan either, it's just that no one had asked for it. And the plan wasn't complicated, there was only one thing that involved everyone, only Rope needed to command and hold back. There was no desire to press everyone else's fate on his own. At least Rope didn't.

But there was nothing to be done about it, it was Lance's commission and a sense of duty.

Rope looked at the roaring Hoopa, at the team members running around, and whispered with a heavy eye.

"The battle, it begins."
