Chapter 3 - Tower

Ray kept the tension in the room tight as he took his stance of refusal to the offer. "You are more dangerous than helpful right now. Even if I become a fugitive and humanity turns against me I will have an easier time surviving against them than against you."

"Tch," Celine clicked her teeth. She knew he felt like he was being used and didn't want to fall into the schemes of somebody powerful. She could only go with his wishes in the end. "You will need help on your journey but seeing as you won't let me provide it let me give you some advice. Avoid people but particularly demons, dragons, giants, and humans. Especially humans."

Celine marched silently in anger while leaving Ray alone. She didn't cause a fuss and simply walked east in the forest. She calmed her anger and took on the peaceful scenery. "Where did I go wrong?" She fumbled with her fingers. Ray wasn't her greatest friend but still somebody she could rely on and now their relationship in this reality was awkward at best.

It took her a while to stable her mind and come to a conclusion. In the end, she theorized that she had used her power and knowledge of the future too aggressively. She mocked herself for thinking Ray would tag along with her and become a friend just because she was strong. No, friendship wasn't that simple.

"I'll just be the same as I always was around people. They became my friends once so it would surely happen again. Using my godly status and knowledge would just scare people away." She shrugged off her grievances and began to fly east as fast as possible.

Nonetheless, an unsettling feeling shook within her. Celine wasn't prone to showing off or getting extremely mad like how she had done earlier. It meant that something had changed her and the only thing new about her was… Godhood. "So that's the reason why gods are always so smug. It's literally in their essence and blood just as it is in mine now." She pushed this problem to the side and decided not to worry about it. As long as she didn't let her Godhood emotions consume her she would be fine.

Finally, after the sun had dimmed and the moon rose again, Celine had arrived at her destination. She was at the edge of the farthest Eastern-Asian island possible and admired the ocean. "Now I just have to wait for that tower," she spoke to herself and took a seat on the sand.

Divinity was weird for her. She could feel the absence of her humanity and how different she had become. For example, she was confidant diseases couldn't affect her and she felt that bullet Ray shot wouldn't have been able to even hurt her but she decided to keep it safe. "Being a god means I have lost my original race, enhanced physicality, beautiful looks, and access to the weird yellow divine essence," she mumbled. Celine also felt how she lacked the need to sleep as well so she watched the moon during the night in peace.

In a modern household, the mother of a child was watching the rascal play. She looked far too exhausted to even think for the day so she watched his toy truck run over people in silence. She could scold him later. However, that thought immediately stopped when her whole house trembled. "Earthquake?" She thought but it was much worse than that.

She quickly grabbed her child and sped outside her house to be safe but what she saw amazed her. In space, a giant a mysterious object appeared next to the moon. It appeared to be a tower so big that it looked like another moon had come to earth. The woman then had an involuntary vision she couldn't resist.

The intricate details of the tower designed in absolute glory separated into 10 segments. At the very top, there seemed to a prize and endless power, but there was writing everybody in the world could understand.

"1st trial started. Completion: each race has to choose three leaders to represent them." A certain clarity hit everyone's mind at that moment. Firstly, this first trial did not have a completion time limit, meaning that one race could never choose leaders and the trail would never be completed. Secondly, the trials must be completed. It was just an indescribable urge to finish the trials. And lastly, a large amount of new landmasses appeared on Earth. In between Asia and the America's, there was the string of Magic Continents on the east of Asia and multiple Demon Continents on the west of the Americas. The continents where humans lived were simply renamed into Human Continents when referred to as a whole.

The mother looked down at her dominant hand and saw a weird mark. "What is this design? It looks so weird and it's hard to name. It's almost like… a sigil?"
