Chapter 11 - Breakfast in bed

Maria pov

Maria woke up to an empty bed, her heart racing with a mix of confusion and fear. She looked around the room, but there was no sign of Raymond. She threw off the covers and got out of bed, her mind racing with worst-case scenarios.

"Where is he?" Maria wondered, her voice barely above a whisper. She felt a chill run down her spine as she thought about the possibility of Raymond leaving her after their night together.

Just as Maria was starting to panic, she heard the sound of footsteps outside the room. The door opened, and Raymond walked in with a tray of breakfast in his hands.

"Good morning, beautiful," Raymond said, his eyes sparkling with warmth. "I brought you breakfast in bed."

Maria's fear melted away, replaced by excitement and relief. "Oh, Raymond, you're so sweet," she said, her voice filled with emotion.

Raymond set the tray down on the bed and handed Maria a cup of coffee. "I figured you could use a pick-me-up after last night," he said, his eyes twinkling with mischief.

Maria blushed, feeling a flutter in her chest. She took a sip of her coffee, savoring the rich flavor.

As they ate breakfast together, Maria couldn't help but feel grateful for this new chapter in her life. She was engaged to the man she loved, and everything felt right with the world.

After breakfast, Maria decided to call her mom to share the news. She dialed her mom's number, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves.

"Mom, I have some news to share with you," Maria said, her voice trembling with emotion.

Her mom's voice was warm and curious on the other end. "What is it, sweetie? You sound serious."

Maria took a deep breath. "Raymond proposed last night, and I said yes."

There was a pause on the other end, followed by a squeal of excitement. "Oh, Maria, that's wonderful news! I'm so happy for you."

Maria's dad got on the phone, congratulating Maria and asking her about the proposal. Maria filled them in on all the details, feeling happy and relieved that they were supportive of her engagement.

After the call, Maria got ready to head back to her place. Raymond walked her to the door, giving her a sweet kiss goodbye.

"I'll see you later, my love," Raymond said, his eyes sparkling with affection.

Maria smiled, feeling grateful for this new chapter in her life. "I love you," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

As Maria walked back to her place, she couldn't help but feel excited about the future. She was engaged to the man she loved, and everything felt right with the world.

When Maria got home, she decided to fill Andrew in on all the details. She found Andrew in the living room, lounging on the couch.

"Hey, girl, what's up?" Andrew asked, his eyes sparkling with curiosity.

Maria plopped down beside him, a huge grin on her face. "I'm engaged!" she exclaimed.

Andrew's eyes widened in shock, followed by a squeal of excitement. "Oh, honey, congratulations! Tell me everything."

Maria filled Andrew in on all the details, from the proposal to the breakfast in bed. Andrew listened with rapt attention, oohing and aahing in all the right places.

As they chatted, Maria couldn't help but feel grateful for her best friend. Andrew was always there for her, offering advice and support whenever she needed it.

"I'm so happy for you, Maria," Andrew said, his eyes shining with tears. "You deserve all the happiness in the world."

Maria smiled, feeling touched by Andrew's words. "Thanks, Andrew. That means a lot coming from you."

As they hugged, Maria knew that she was lucky to have Andrew in her life. He was more than just a best friend - he was a true partner in crime.
