Chapter 12: Odin's POV

Odin sat alone in his chamber, staring at the distant stars through the grand window of his palace. A heavy sigh escaped his lips as he leaned back in his chair, lost in thought.

Odin (thinking): Hela... my child. I am truly happy for you.

He closed his eyes, letting memories flood his mind.

I still remember the day you and Eris were born. Both of you were my world, my light. When I held you in my arms for the first time, I thought I had the universe's happiness within my grasp. I promised myself that neither of you would ever have to face hardship — that you would know only joy.

But that promise had long since shattered.

I failed.

Odin clenched his fists, his knuckles turning white.

I remember the day your elder sister, Eris Odinsdottir, was taken from us. The Dark Elves... those vile creatures abducted her from Asgard. I searched every corner of the cosmos, but I couldn't find her. The pain of losing her left a void in my heart.

A deep sigh followed, filled with regret.

After that, I vowed to make you stronger, Hela. Strong enough that no one could ever hurt you. I trained you, forged you into a weapon of war. I took you to battles when you should have been playing and laughing. I destroyed your childhood... and turned you into a goddess of death.

A single tear slipped down Odin's cheek.

Excess in anything is dangerous. I made you too powerful, too ruthless. And when you became a threat to Asgard, I, your pathetic father, locked you away in Hel and erased your name from history.

Another sigh escaped him, heavier this time.

But when I saw you again — when I saw you start to walk a different path — I felt hope. I knew I had to bring your name back, restore your legacy. It took time, but I did it.

Some Time Before Kael's Visit to Asgard

In the grand hall of the palace, Thor and Loki stood before Odin, summoned urgently.

Thor: "Father, why have you called us so urgently? Have those damned Ice Giants caused trouble again? Just say the word, and I will destroy them!"

Thor grinned proudly, already imagining battle.

Loki: sighs "Calm down, brother. Perhaps Father has something more serious to discuss. Not everything is about fighting."

Thor chuckled. "Is there anything more fun than fighting?"

Loki rolled his eyes.

Odin: "Enough."

Both brothers fell silent.

After a brief pause, Odin spoke again.

Odin: "You both have two elder sisters."

Thor blinked in confusion.

Thor: "What? Two elder sisters? Congratulations! But... is Mother okay? And when did this happen? I just saw her yesterday, and she didn't look like she had given birth recently. Or... did you—"

Before Thor could say anything more, Loki slapped a hand over his mouth.

Loki: "Shut up, you moron. Father said 'elder sisters,' meaning they're older than us."

Thor pulled Loki's hand away.

Thor: "But that's impossible!"

Loki: "Father, would you care to explain?"

Odin sighed heavily, the weight of centuries pressing down on him.

Odin: "Yes. You have two elder sisters: Eris Odinsdottir and Hela Odinsdottir. Eris was taken by the Dark Elves long ago. As for Hela... she is the Goddess of Death and is currently imprisoned in Hel."

Thor and Loki stood in stunned silence, processing the revelation.

Thor (gritting his teeth): "Where can I find those Dark Elves? I'll kill every single one of them!"

Loki: "Father, why did you imprison Hela? She's our sister."

Odin's gaze softened with regret.

Odin: "Thor, the Dark Elves are gone. I made sure of that. And Loki... take these."

Odin handed them both large stacks of books — records of Hela's life and achievements.

Odin: "These are her stories. Her victories. Her legacy. Learn about your sister."

Thor and Loki took the books in silence, their expressions solemn.

Odin: "Now, go. And tell Heimdall to summon the Dwarves. The palace needs a renovation."

Thor and Loki left, each lost in thought.

For days, they immersed themselves in the stories of Hela. They were stunned by her accomplishments and horrified by the battles she had fought.

After that, Thor changed. He became more disciplined, more focused. He began training harder than ever.

When asked why, he would only say:

Thor: "I was never the strongest child of Odin."

Loki, too, grew quieter. But anyone who knew him could see he was sharpening his mind, preparing for something.

The Day Odin Called Them Again

Odin summoned Thor and Loki to the grand hall once more. As they entered, their jaws dropped in shock.

The entire palace had been transformed.

The walls, once bare, were now adorned with murals depicting Odin's battles alongside Hela and Eris. The ceiling of the main hall bore a grand image of Odin and Hela standing side by side.

Thor (thinking): Is this really the Asgard I know?

Loki (thinking): The entire palace has been flipped over...

Their eyes fell on one mural in particular.

Thor (pointing, horrified): "Father! Why is Hela holding my hammer?!"

Odin's expression remained calm.

Odin: "That hammer of yours, Thor? It was Hela's before it was yours."

Thor staggered back, clutching his chest as if his heart had shattered.

The Arrival of Hela and Kael

Odin: "Prepare yourselves. Hela and her husband will be arriving in Asgard soon."

Loki: "Wait... husband? Hela has a husband?"

Thor: "What do you mean by 'husband'? And why is she coming back to Asgard?"

Odin motioned for them to follow him. They walked together toward the Rainbow Bridge.

Along the way, Odin gave them a brief summary of Kael's visit to Hel and his role in Hela's transformation.

Thor frowned.

Thor: "So, you're saying a mere mortal is my sister's mate?"

A thought crossed his mind — if Kael couldn't defeat him in a duel, then he had no right to marry Hela.

Loki remained silent, but a mischievous glint sparkled in his eyes.

Loki (thinking): That mortal must be extraordinary if Father approved of him. But... I see Thor's face. Perhaps it's time to prank our new brother-in-law.

Neither of them realized that the prank would lead to their temporary expulsion from Asgard.
