Chapter 4 - ENEMY LIKE FRIEND

THE RISE BETRAYAL

Frad noticed how diligent and dedicated Nate was, ensuring the palace ran smoothly. Impressed by his efficiency, Frad entrusted Nate with the kingdom's safety. Their plan was progressing well—Nate had gained full access to everything inside and outside the palace, making him aware of every secret within the kingdom.

Over time, Frad began sharing confidential matters with Nate, believing in his loyalty. Through hard work and discipline, Nate was eventually appointed as the Chief Palace Guard. His presence ensured peace and security, which deepened Frad's trust in him.

Everyone in the palace respected Nate's decisions, as he was known for being thoughtful and strategic. Soon, he assisted Frad in battling the Hubans, their long-standing enemies.

The Hubanians had been at war with Moha for over 150 years, but Moha always emerged victorious due to their superior battle strategies. Other kingdoms feared Moha's strength, as they had never lost a war.

During one battle, the Mohaians fought fiercely, killing many Hubanian warriors. The remaining soldiers fled for their lives. They captured the Hubanian chief commander, demanding his surrender, but he refused. Without hesitation, he was executed.

Moha then expanded its territory, enslaving the Hubanian people as part of their conquest.

THE RISE OF MOHA'S POWER

Two days later, news of Moha's victory spread across the land. The remaining kingdoms respected their military dominance, recognizing them as the most powerful nation.

With their growing strength, Frad promoted Nate to Chief Commander of War. Nate carried out his duties with precision and followed Frad's orders without question.

Later, Nate and his friends returned to their chambers, discussing their next move. That night, they indulged in a celebration with harlots, enjoying their success.

THE MEETING WITH THE PRINCESS

The next morning, during a court meeting, Jade—the younger sister of Frad, known as the most beautiful woman in Moha—entered the palace. She greeted her father.

"Your Majesty, I greet you and congratulate you on this great victory that has brought peace to our kingdom," she expressed gracefully.

"Thank you, my princess," Pac replied with pride. "This victory has brought us fame, wealth, and respect from all the other kingdoms."

Among the attendees, Jos found himself mesmerized by Jade. As the court meeting ended, he rushed after her, eager to speak with her.

"My princess, you are truly beautiful," Jos said nervously. "I have heard many great things about you."

Jade smiled. "Thank you. Are you new here? I don't recall seeing you before."

"Ehmm... yes, I am new, but I am loyal to the royal family," Jos replied. "If you ever need anything, do not hesitate to call me."

Jade nodded politely and continued walking to her chamber. Jos, overwhelmed with excitement, felt like he had won a great prize.

However, on his way back, Nate and Nar blocked his path.

"Don't tell me you already like her," Nate said, raising an eyebrow. "I've been watching you since the court meeting—you've been acting strange."

"Don't let her manipulate you," Nar warned. "She is royal blood, and we cannot risk our mission over feelings."

"I hear you," Jos assured them. "I will not fall for her tricks. I will remain vigilant."

A DANGEROUS PROPOSITION

That evening, Frad sent a guard to summon Nate.

Upon arriving at Frad's chamber, Nate bowed. "My lord, I am at your service. How may I assist you?"

Frad motioned for him to follow. "Let's take a walk. There is something important I need to discuss."

As they walked through the palace corridors, Frad shared his ambitious thoughts.

"Why shouldn't we rule all the seven kingdoms?" Frad questioned. "We have the strongest military, the best war weapons. We could conquer them all and strip them of their rights."

Nate responded carefully. "My lord, your idea is brilliant. However, I'm unsure if the court will approve it. But if they do, I will eliminate them one by one, and we will take full control of the land."

Hearing this, Frad was thrilled. "We will overcome all our enemies," Nate assured him.

Frad felt more confident than ever, believing Moha was destined for complete dominance.

Before leaving, Nate requested three days of leave to travel freely. Frad granted his request without hesitation.

RETURN TO ZEALITYA

Nate and his friends returned to Zealitya, eager to see his mother after a long time. The moment Rectiha saw Nate, she rushed to embrace him.

The purpose of his visit was not only to see her but also to update the elders on their progress and discuss the next steps.

During a private meeting with the elders, Nate spoke.

"I greet you all, my elders. I have come to update you on what is happening in Moha. The Mohaians are now planning to go against the other six kingdoms. I have also brought enough weapons for twenty thousand soldiers."

His words carried a heavy warning.

Rectiha nodded. "We must act carefully. Right now, the Mohaians see us as trustworthy. We must continue to pretend until we lead them into war. What do you think, my elders?"

The elders agreed with her plan.

"Let them turn their backs against each other first," one elder suggested.

Satisfied with their discussion, Nate returned to his chamber, where his mother visited him privately.

"My son, how have you been?" Rectiha asked with concern.

"I am well, Mother," Nate replied. "Tomorrow morning, Jos, Nar, and I will return to Moha. We must maintain our cover."

BACK IN MOHA

The next morning, Nate, Jos, and Nar returned to Moha.

They went straight to the palace and resumed their duties. That night, they hosted a lavish feast in their chambers, inviting Frad, nobles, and soldiers to celebrate their "loyalty" to Moha.

As the celebration continued, Nate silently prepared for the next step in his mission.
