Chapter 24
One night after my date with Integra, I woke up to Walter waking me up.
- Seras, today you have a mission with the soldiers.
- Is it just me or is it based on what you're saying that I have a solo mission today?
- Today you will be without Alucard, under the command of a new captain.
- Seriously? You know, it would be much more effective if I was delivered to the place and given the target of elimination, I'm almost sure that communication with soldiers without you or Integra will end badly.
- Don't worry, Alucard said that since you drank Sir Integra's blood, everything will be fine.
"I didn't mean hunger," I said, slightly offended, which, apparently, was ignored.
- Now a little about the mission. A female vampire hunts by stalking people leaving nightclubs and luring them into an alley.
- I see. Where should I go to gather? - I asked, getting out of bed.
- In the courtyard you will be given a weapon and further instructions. Good hunting, Seras.
"Thank you, Walter," I said after the butler as he left.
- Master?
- What about the police?
- Can you call the Basque? I miss him.
"You haven't seen each other for less than a day," he rolled his eyes before Baski popped out of the ground in his little pug uniform.
- Basque! Oh, I missed you so much! - I exclaimed when the dog jumped into my arms, allowing me to pet him and barking happily.
- You missed me too, right? - laughing, I went to change clothes with the Basque.
It took a few minutes before I emerged from the bathroom fully prepared for the task.
- Master, are you sure everything will be okay? I'm afraid I might not be able to stand it and cause problems for Walter and Integra.
- You are strong enough to cope alone.
"Master, you know very well that I'm not worried about not being able to kill the vampire," I said, offended.
- I remember that not long ago you drank the blood of a virgin, police girl. That should be enough to keep you from getting hungry, and without it you can definitely cope.
- I understand. - I answered slowly and went to the gathering place. When I came out into the yard, I was met by many hateful glances.
Walking forward, I soon recognized who was apparently going to be the new captain and grimaced in disgust. Captain Stadler from the regular Hellsing. This was going to be a hell of a lot.
- Well, well, well, if it's not a little vampire slave. How are you feeling? Aroused? - Stadler asked me, examining my body as I approached the car.
"He actually called me a slave while looking straight at me? When he gets eaten by ghouls, I'll enjoy the spectacle from the front row." I thought, showing a scary smile that caused fear in the man, although he was able to quickly regain his composure.
- Enough, Captain Stadler. This is your first mission as part of Hellsing, don't disappoint us. - Fargason interrupted the brewing quarrel.
- Yes, sir. We're moving out! - Stadler saluted, instantly assuming the appearance of a model military man and gave the order.
Throughout the entire trip I had to endure in silence the strange looks of Stadler, periodically accompanied by whistling; fortunately, after half an hour we finally arrived at the place and lined up in front of the captain.
"Okay, people… and a monster," Stedler said, deliberately pausing before singling me out.
- We have information that our vampire's next target will be the club across the street. I want everyone to split into pairs and quietly surround the building. - Following his command, everyone split into pairs until only I was left.
- Officer Victoria.
- Yes?
- You're with me. Let's go to the roof.
We silently climbed up to the roof and a couple of minutes later, when we had finished taking up position and setting up the sniper rifle, the captain spoke.
- So is it true that in order to become a vampire you have to be a virgin?
- Yes.
- I guess that means you were a virgin?
- Was? I'm still a virgin.
- Oh? Right. I'm sorry. - He replied with a slight chuckle.
"I don't usually think about pets being virgins. Like, you don't think about whether a dog is a virgin, do you?" he said sarcastically.
Honestly, at this point I was speechless because he was still smiling happily after what he said. Meanwhile, I heard laughter from his communication system.
- Haha, I can't believe he actually said that.
- It's funny that he uses the pound bet as an excuse.
*slap*
Suddenly my mind went blank, did he really do that? Did he just hit me in the ass?
"So that's how it's going to be, huh?" I said gloomily.
- Hm? - The captain was surprised by my words before he felt pain in his wrist. Looking down, he saw my hand squeeze his wrist so hard that a moment later the bone couldn't withstand it and broke. Before he could scream, I covered his mouth with my other hand.
- Shh ...
Meanwhile, no one noticed my actions, as the rest of the soldiers became focused on the mission.
- Now, we are going to play a fun game. If you can call for help, you win. If you can't, I win. When you made that cute comment about dogs, you should have remembered that if a dog gets a hold of something, it is VERY hard to get it away from them. Are you ready? - I said very slowly, continuing to cover the man's mouth.
Seeing that no one was answering me, I crushed the finger on my hand with the broken wrist into a bloody mess.
- Mmmmmf!! - he moaned in pain, trembling with fear.
- Great, now a question. After your wrist was broken, do you still feel pain in your hand? Nod if yes, and shake your head if no. I must warn you, if there is no answer within five seconds, I will kill you and dispose of your body. Trust me, there will not be a drop of blood left after you.
- 1… 2… 3…
As I was about to say 4, Stadler quickly nodded his head.
Noticing this, I smirked. "See, it wasn't that hard. Let me repeat for you: the only way to get out alive is to attract attention to yourself. Please make this enough entertainment for me, I don't want it to end quickly." I said, slowly opening his mouth.
As soon as I took my hand away, Saddler tried to scream. However, as soon as he opened his mouth, I hit him in the jaw, breaking it. At first, he didn't even have time to realize the pain until I stepped on his foot.
- Well, why aren't you screaming? Oh yeah! Your jaw is broken. Come on, we've only just begun. - I bared my teeth and started cracking my knuckles.
Ten minutes later, a young couple emerged from the club, followed by a vampire. However, before they could be harmed, a shot rang out and a bullet pierced the vampire's heart, showering the couple in ashes.
- AAAAAAA! - the woman screamed when some blood and dust fell on her.
Having finished my target, I stood up and looked at the shaking Staedler, who was lying face down. His arms and legs were broken in various places, it was obvious that he could not move, and if you looked closely, you could see that his jaw was broken.
"Our mission is accomplished, it's time to deal with you," I said, turning the captain over.
Stadler looked rather pathetic. His entire face was covered in tears and snot, and his broken jaw didn't add to his beauty.
"You know, Stedler, the last time someone insulted me, I broke his entire body and let him go," I began to explain slowly, seeing a glimmer of hope in his eyes.
- That's because Walter was there. Do you really think I'm going to let you come back alive after all that?
- Mmm! - the man groaned in pain and fear, his barely nascent hope was shattered.
"Good answer," I said, leaning towards his ear before snapping his neck and placing the body in inventory.
Brushing the dust off my uniform, I jumped off the roof, landing next to the car I had arrived in and opening the door, getting in the back.
A few seconds later, a detachment arrived and seeing that I was waiting for them in the car, one of the soldiers asked.
- Where is Captain Stadler? Shouldn't he be with you?
- Hm? Oh yeah, he was with me for a couple of minutes and then left. I thought he was you. Wasn't he? - I asked innocently.
- This doesn't look like him.
- Maybe he went to take a leak?
- He would have already appeared after the shot.
Since everyone started expressing their opinion, I decided to express mine.
- Maybe the vampire grabbed him before he went after the couple?
When they heard me, they turned pale and immediately began trying to call Stredler on the radio. When there was no response, the senior officer reported to headquarters. A few minutes later, we were ordered to return and let the investigation department deal with Stredler.
When we got back, it finally dawned on me what exactly I had just done.
"So this is what it's like to kill? Oh, I wish the day of the attack would come sooner, I so want to personally blow the heads off all these bastards." I thought with a smile.
When I arrived at the mansion, I was met with a murderous look from Integra, full of anger. She stared at Manya until I approached and asked coldly.
- So, what happened, police girl?
"It depends on what you want to know, Sir Integra," I answered calmly.
- What happened to Captain Stadler?
- He learned that it is not worth it to first insult and then harass an angry vampire. - Even though I removed the captain's body, I know for sure that I will not be able to deceive Integra, so it is better to show that I was within my rights.
- We will return to this issue, Seras Victoria. - The head of Hellsing decided not to rush and first interrogate her servant.
