Chereads / The Rise of Victoria Seras / Chapter 29 - 29. Helena

Chapter 29 - 29. Helena

Chapter 29

At this moment I was standing in front of the doors of my old house, fortunately for me no one lived there.

"I wonder if it was Sir Integra who didn't let me sell my house? Or maybe no one has bought it yet?" I thought as I walked inside and headed to the dresser that held family photos, which I put in my inventory.

"When I chose reincarnation, I didn't think that I would become so attached to Seras' family. Her love was completely transferred to me. And I am so angry at the people who took her parents away from her."

I spent a few hours just wandering around the house remembering my parents and, honestly, I didn't remember anything bad about them.

- Such a happy family. What did they do to deserve such an end? - Just as I was finishing, there was a sudden knock at the door.

Smiling, realizing who was supposed to come, I took out my gun and went to the door.

Opening the door, I saw a middle-aged white man with green eyes and slightly graying blond hair. Pointing a gun at him, I asked curiously.

- Who are you?

- No need to be so careful, Officer Victoria. My name is Harry Sanders and I work for MI5. - The man said, raising his hands.

Lowering the gun, I spoke.

- Well, you already know me. So I guess the next question is, why are you here?

- Hm? Why do I feel like you're answering like you're following a script? Were you waiting for me?

- What? How would I know you'd come? So what do you want?

- I just came to talk. Do you have anything to eat? I haven't eaten anything since yesterday. - He asked, stroking his stomach.

- Ha-ha-ha. You, a human, asking me, a vampire, to eat? That's pretty funny.

- And you will refuse me this?

- Oh no. Just give me a couple of minutes to see what I have.

After 5 minutes, I brought cookies and tea.

- This tea smells quite good. You must be a good cook. - He complimented me after smelling the tea with pleasure.

- Hm? Thank you. Can we get back to why you're here? - I asked with a smile.

- Of course. You see, I knew your father and I was hoping we could talk about him. After all, today is the day he died.

- Clear.

For the next couple of hours he told me various stories about my father, which, to be honest, I enjoyed listening to.

- I can't believe it. Dad really said that? - I laughed.

- Okay, it's late. I'll probably be back. - I started to get up, and at that moment Sanders finally lost his composure.

- Can I ask you for a small favor?

- Look. I'm glad you shared these stories with me, but since you've known my father for so long, I have some resentment about the fact that I first met you. So keep it short.

- I see. I'm not going to ask you to forgive my absence, but could you just come with me? There's someone I'd like you to meet.

- Why should I?

- Well, you can learn a lot about what's going on in this city. I know you must have sensed that there was something dark behind all of this.

- Haha. You talk so funny. Well, okay, I'm not in a hurry. Let's go. - I said before getting up and washing the dishes.

About 15 minutes later we climbed out of the back seat of the black car and landed near a small building surrounded by a garden, the roof of which was decorated with many different flowers.

- Many years ago, during an investigation, I discovered a real vampire, and we have a very delicate relationship. - The man laughed slightly. - She was quite angry the last time we met. And I need to talk to her.

- Wait, so I'm just a bodyguard? You realize I'm just a rookie? I've been a vampire for less than a month. I can't protect you from a real vampire.

"Calm down, you're just a guarantee. I don't believe she'll attack." Anders said before walking forward and knocking on the door.

- Yes? - came the voice of a young girl on the other side of the door.

- Helena? This is Harry from MI5. If possible, I'd like to ask you a couple of questions.

- Harry? It's been a few years now. - the voice sounded again before the door opened.

The one who opened the door was a girl of about 13 years old in a light dress. She had silver hair and yellow eyes that literally screamed that she was so old that she had already managed to get tired of life.

"Is she your support? Anyway, don't touch anything," she said before turning around and walking inside.

Once inside, I was faced with a room filled with shelves of books surrounding a lone leather chair. And a few candles in the dark room seemed to float in the dark room. Helena sat down in the chair and took a cup of tea, which I noticed was filled with blood. For just a moment, I felt thirsty, but quickly pulled myself together.

"You must be very young if you can't control your impulses," Helena remarked, taking a sip from her cup.

- Yes. I've been a vampire for less than a month. This man is practically blackmailing me to stay here. - I casually stated my complaints, throwing Harry in the line of fire.

- Harry? - Helena's voice rang out, her gaze on the man becoming rather cool.

"That's not true, Helena. She's just joking," Harry quickly said.

- It doesn't matter. Say what you wanted and leave. You know how I hate those who ruin my life.

- Yes. I was wondering if you knew anything about the rise in vampire attacks plaguing London.

- You want to ask if I or my friends are involved in this. No need to beat around the bush.

- You know I don't think so, but my job requires me to ask questions.

- I'm just kidding, little Harry.

"Yes, of course, especially with your expressionless face," Harry thought, but did not let it show on his face what he thought of such jokes.

- No, none of the vampires I know are connected to this. As far as I know, the attacks were not caused by real vampires, but fakes.

- And? - Harry hurried, clearly expecting him to continue.

- I have a theory.

- Please share with me.

- Come on, I bet the little chick knows. - The vampire showed some emotion for the first time in the entire conversation before pointing at me.

Harry immediately turned to me with a pleading expression on his face.

- Okay, Agent Sanders. If these are copies, then what does it take to make a copy? - I sighed and gave him a hint.

- Original?

- Ding-ding-ding. You're in trouble!

"Don't be so ironic," Harry said before going outside to make a phone call.

Helena and I were left alone in the room and looked at each other.

"She's probably bored beyond belief. I wonder if I should spice up her life a little?

- You were lucky, you were converted at a good age. What is your name?

- Oh, yes, I'm very sorry. My name is Seras Victoria. Officer of the Hellsing organization.

- Hellsing? You kill vampires? - the girl looked at me with displeasure.

- Well, not all vampires are able to coexist with humans. - I answered with a shrug.

Helena got up from her chair and came up to me and put her hand on my stomach. After standing there for a few seconds, she took her hand away and looked me in the face and said.

- Your master is Dracula. You're lucky.

- Yes, he is a very good owner. - I smiled and after a short pause asked.

- Are you bored with life, Helena?

- That's not a very good question, Miss Victoria.

- I'll take that as a yes. How about I send you somewhere else?

- I've already traveled all over the world, seen everything, I'm bored with it.

"No, I'm not talking about another country," I said with a smile.

- Hm?

- Would you like to go to another world?
