Aurora couldn't sleep.
The events of the night replayed in her mind like a broken record—the whispers, the stares, Selena's sharp gaze, and most of all, Logan's words.
"You don't belong in my world."
She should have agreed with him. She should have walked away without a second thought.
But instead, she was still here.
Aurora sighed, shifting under the soft sheets of the guest room Logan had given her. The city lights flickered through the window, casting shadows on the walls. Her instincts told her she was making a mistake, that she was getting too close, too involved.
She had lived most of her life in the shadows, operating from the darkness where emotions had no place. And yet, in Logan's world, everything was on display.
