The air in Logan's mansion was thick with tension. After the gala, Aurora hadn't spoken much, her mind running in a loop of what had just happened. Marcus had found her. Worse, he had found Logan.
Aurora sat on the plush couch in Logan's living room, her fingers lightly tracing the rim of a glass of water. Logan sat across from her, his piercing gaze locked onto her face as if trying to read her thoughts.
"Are you going to tell me who Marcus really is?" Logan finally broke the silence.
Aurora exhaled, leaning back. "He's someone I used to work with."
Logan raised an eyebrow. "Work with? That's it?"
She looked away, knowing he wouldn't be satisfied with that answer. "Marcus and I were on the same team in my past life. But things changed. He's dangerous, Logan. And now that he knows I'm here, he won't just disappear."
Logan studied her for a moment before leaning forward, resting his elbows on his knees. "Then what do we do about him?"
