As Avery Wells turned around, she saw a man in a white shirt walking in. He was about 6'1" tall. On the right side of his face, he wore a blue and gold mask the size of a palm, and his narrow and deep-set eyes were cold and bone-chilling. On the other side of his face, his long eyebrows were sharp as ink, his nose was straight and handsome, and his lips were cool and thin, with distinct features that were very handsome. However, there was a hint of a smirk at the corner of his mouth, making him seem somewhat rogue-like. He held a small cage covered with black gauze, giving people an unfathomable feeling.
Avery's heart skipped a beat, and for a moment she forgot about the pain. She didn't seem to know this man. However, with just one glance, she looked into his eyes that were as vast as the universe, and her heart suddenly jumped, feeling somewhat familiar.
Behind him were a dozen bodyguards, and their imposing manner frightened Harrison Wells and his wife. "Are you from the Wells family?" he asked in a low voice, but with a full sense of oppression. Although it was scorching summer, it made people feel cold. But it was like a clear spring entering Avery's heart. This voice... it was Ethan Blackwood!
His gaze seemed to fall on her wound, and in an instant, it became cold. Avery was shocked. It turned out that he was not an old man, and he was younger than she had imagined. She opened her mouth, wanting to speak, but Harrison Wells walked over and glared at him in anger.
"Who are you, wearing a mask and trespassing into someone's home?" He just looked at Avery and said, "Take her with me." The dozen bodyguards all nodded in unison, "Yes, Mr. Blackwood!" Upon hearing this, Harrison Wells' anger dissipated instantly, his face turned pale and he took several steps back in fear.
In the capital city, there was only one person who was addressed as "Mr. Blackwood" - Ethan Blackwood. Harrison Wells' face turned even paler when he realized Ethan Blackwood had arrived so quickly after his daughter's failure.
After Avery was taken away, the room fell silent as if one could hear a pin drop. Harrison Wells wiped his sweat and asked, "What brings Mr. Blackwood here today?" Ethan Blackwood replied with a question, "Aren't you going to offer me a seat, Mr. Wells?" Harrison Wells nodded and said, "Please have a seat."
Victoria Wells hurried to pour tea. Ethan Blackwood sat down on the sofa, crossing his legs comfortably. He played with the black veil covering the cage with his slender fingers and looked around the room. Then, he asked casually, "Who injured Avery's forehead?" Harrison Wells was confused and did not understand what he meant.
At this moment, Victoria Wells brought the tea over and quickly distanced herself from the situation, "That girl displeased Mr. Blackwood and angered you. I just gave her a small lesson. She is too naive and I will make sure she apologizes properly later." Ethan Blackwood lowered his eyes, his expression unreadable, and raised his eyebrows, "She should apologize properly indeed."
With that, he lifted the black veil covering the cage. Inside, a venomous snake as thick as two fingers was coiled up, spitting out red venom. It looked at the two strangers as if it could attack at any moment. Victoria Wells screamed in terror, dropped the tea on the ground, and burned her foot with the scalding hot tea. She stumbled back several steps in pain.
Rumor has it that Mr. Blackwood's beloved pet is a venomous snake, but it's only a rumor. However, seeing it with their own eyes now, it's truly terrifying. Ethan Blackwood opened the cage and reached out his hand towards the snake. The snake became much gentler and crawled out along his arm.
Harrison Wells and Victoria Wells' hearts felt like they were about to jump out of their throats. "Don't scream. If it gets frightened, I can't guarantee what will happen to you," Ethan Blackwood warned. This was not a visit, but clearly a torture session. Harrison Wells was so anxious that he was sweating profusely.
"Mr. Blackwood, I will definitely teach my unfilial daughter a lesson. Please spare our family." Ethan Blackwood leaned back lazily in his leather chair, his eyes half-closed with a threatening air. "I'm a soft-hearted person and easy to talk to. You just need to agree to one request of mine." The couple were scared out of their wits. How could they be soft-hearted and keep a venomous snake as a companion?
Harrison Wells wiped his sweat and was afraid to anger Ethan Blackwood again ,or he might let the snake take his life . Don't just say one request ,I'll agree to ten thousand requests . Please tell me as long as I can do it ,I'll do my best.
