Sunny indeed had something to talk about. He knew how he felt about Morgan, but this conversation would be used to determine whether or not he could trust her.
"It's about the domain war." Morgan's expression grew serious, causing Sunny to wince. He had tried to keep the day about just them and not the politics of the upcoming war, but he had to have this discussion sooner rather than later.
Morgan stayed silent, so he asked her a question "What do you think about the sovereigns?" She kept a serious expression, much different from the other side of her he had seen that day.
"They are misguided." Sunny raised an eyebrow, prompting her to continue. "I'm not sure about the third, but my father and Ki Song are trying to protect their people while failing to fully consider the threats of the dream realm."
Sunny was surprised. Morgan's take on the situation mostly matched his own, giving him hope. "I think the same. They are fighting for a strength that is inconsequential in the face of the horrors of the dream realm."
He continued. "The fallen civilisation of the Storm Sea had a singular sovereign, and they disappeared all the same." Sunny had revealed his stance, but was still probing Morgan on her desire for the next course of action.
She seemed to realise his intentions, briefly weighing the benefits before responding. "They are unfit for their positions and have weakened the world. I find them pitiful."
Morgan paused, staring at Sunny intently. "Is your stance individual, or does it represent your clan?" He stared back at her.
"It is both." He met her probe before issuing one of his own. "What is your desired outcome?" He was taking a risk, but something within him believed in her.
Morgan considered his question for a long time before answering. "Ideally, they should be replaced by a competent ruler." Sunny smiled, he had taken a gamble but it was about to pay off.
"What if I told you we've already found one?" Morgan seemed intrigued. She didn't say anything, but it was enough of an answer for him. "I will contact you, stay in touch."
Morgan stood up, she had a smile on her face, but the previous mood was already broken. "I'll take my leave." Sunny was a bit disappointed, but it was expected.
She made her way over to the door of his room and turned back to him with a smile. "Thank you for the gifts, you'll have to cook for me sometime."
Sunny smiled back at her, and she took her leave. He waited a few seconds, before sighing and leaning back on his bed.

Morgan was considering what she had just agreed to, feeling a mixture of emotions. On one hand, she was glad Sunny shared a similar cause, but on the other she was sorrowful that the discussion had killed the mood.
Sunny had just admitted to having planned to have her in his bed more often, but the serious conversation that immediately followed had ruined it.
Morgan pushed the bitter feeling to the back of her mind and evaluated the likelihood of carrying out the plan. She felt reassured that the entire Shadow Clan was behind it, but she was still left mostly in the dark.
Sunny had mentioned that they had already found someone to rally behind so Morgan considered that first.
'To be a successful revolutionary, one needs to be favoured by the public and competent enough to take over.' She immediately thought of the saints that were present in the public eye.
To be competent enough to advance to a sovereign in future, a saint was the basic qualification. Of course, that wasn't enough, so she only really focused on the saints that had been proven to be above the rest.
Among the names appearing in her mind were Soul Reaper, Raised by Wolves, and Nightingale. The three government saints that had refused swear loyalty to any of the sovereigns.
She quickly dismissed Soul Reaper due to her menacing image and Raised by Wolves for her personality. Morgan briefly considered Nightingale before realising there was a much better option.
'Nephis.' Her sister, Changing Star was probably the most favoured by the public. She had built a blinding reputation for martyrdom and kindness, while being one of, if not the most competent of all saints.
Nephis also had a considerable backing. Her former cohort consisted of the names she had thought of previously, and Morgan was willing to bet they were still in contact.
She also wasn't deceived by her swearing loyalty to Valor. She needed a backing to grow and not be suppressed, but also could use the opportunity to probe her enemy's weaknesses.
The more Morgan thought about it, the more likely it seemed that she was the chosen figure of the Shadow Clan. Nephis had the competence, image and motivation, and now that she thought about it, there were signs of her already setting up for the final battle.
The one discrepancy Morgan couldn't help but catch was the lack of a clear method to bring the sovereigns down. Sunny seemed to trust in his clan, so they definitely had a plan, but it just wasn't clear to her.
Morgan sighed, she didn't have enough information to make any informed conclusions yet so there was no point in trying. She just had to wait for Sunny to contact her. Almost as she thought this, a voice rang in her head.
[Do you want to meet up again tomorrow?] It was Sunny. At first she thought it was about the discussion they just had, but then she realised he was talking about their second date.
[Sure, should I eat beforehand?] She smiled, happy that the relationship between them hadn't changed.
[No, just come over after the cafe closes, I don't want to do anything fancy.] Morgan's smile grew wider.
[I'll be there.] She still hadn't fully come to terms with having someone who loved her, but she was quite happy either way. 'How lucky am I?'
