Sunny woke up first. He groggily opened his eyes and tried to move, but failed as Morgan was holding onto him.
He immediately woke up, panicked as to why Morgan was in his bed, before remembering the previous night. Sunny quickly calmed down, but his movement had woken her up.
She let out a soft groan and propped herself up, looking down at him with a lazy grin. "Morning sunshine." Sunny felt his face heating up, so he turned into the covers.
Morgan was somehow still perfectly photogenic even after just waking up. 'It's too much.' Sunny took a few moments to recover, the image of her lazily leaning over him ingrained in his mind.
Once he composed himself, he felt a sudden urge to get her back. She obviously didn't mean to fluster him, so it was incredibly petty of him to take revenge. Sunny, however, was an incredibly petty man.
Sunny rolled over and grabbed Morgan's arm. He then pulled it towards him and propped himself up on his hands. Sunny was now over Morgan, with her lying on the bed looking up at him.
Now that he had gotten himself into this position, he wasn't quite sure on what to do, but he was spared having to make a decision. Morgan smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him down into a long kiss.
The room was filled with silence. It was only a while later that Sunny finally separated himself from her. He found himself under Morgan once again as they seemed to have rolled over at some point.
His original plan was to make Morgan flustered and then get up and go about his day, but her subsequent actions had ruined this plan. 'It's fine, there's nothing urgent today anyway.'
Sunny resigned himself to his fate and pulled Morgan in once again. 'This isn't a bad way to start the day.' he could already tell it was going to be a long morning.
Eventually, Sunny and Morgan separated from each other. They were both a little disheveled and out of breath so Morgan just lay on her back, and Sunny stayed suspended on his hands above her.
He realised that he should probably start the day at some point, so he decided to get up. There was one problem. 'Do I have to leave?' Sunny really didn't want to stop.
He looked down at Morgan. At some point, her silk shirt had rode up her chest, revealing her pale and unblemished skin. He could clearly see her defined abdominals, her body only becoming more tantalising with the rise and fall of her chest and the occasional bead of sweat.
He forced himself to look away, knowing that it would only be harder to extricate himself if he took in more of her beauty. He leaned down one last time to give her a light kiss before getting on his knees and stepping off of the bed.
Morgan seemed disappointed that he was leaving, but understood he had things to do. Sunny sighed in relief. He was somewhat worried that if she chose to pull him down once more, he wouldn't be able to free himself.
Sunny's clothes disappeared in a rain of sparks, but by the time the sparks cleared there were more in their place. Both the usual set of clothing he wore and the one he was previously wearing were memories, so changing between them was easy.
Morgan on the other hand couldn't do that, so he left the room to give her some privacy. He had actually taken the day off today, but that didn't mean he didn't have things to do.
Earlier the day before, he had been contacted by Cassie to meet so they could discuss the hopeful support of the Shadow Clan.
Sunny didn't mention he had also managed to rally Morgan behind their cause so he wasn't just going to bring her out of the blue.
The meeting was in about half an hour now. He had originally thought he would have a lot more time, but certain events prevented him from leaving his room until this late.
The location of the meeting was in the waking world. Specifically, it was Nephis' mansion that was currently being used at the base of the fire keepers.
He had never personally been there, but he had heard her briefly mention it once or twice. It was the last remaining piece of property that was left in the hands of the Immortal Flame Clan after the sovereigns were done with it.
Sunny found it ironic that the last little thing that the sovereigns deemed too insignificant to take, was the place where their downfall would be planned.
He chuckled. He had no doubt that this would be strung into Nephis' long line of heroic and tragic tales once the sovereigns were defeated. It was too perfect not to be.
He turned his attention back to the matter at hand. The decision he had to make now was whether to show up as himself, or as the Lord of Shadows. The obvious answer was as the Lord of Shadows.
He had taken the day off so he could be seen out in public places by as many people as possible. The Lord of Shadows had no human contact, so no one would notice if he went missing for a few hours.
In the nameless temple somewhere within Godgrave, the Lord of Shadows stirred on his throne. The avatar had originally been stationary as Sunny didn't want to split his focus during his time with Morgan.
Sunny stood up from his throne, briefly pausing before pulling on his Anchor. He found himself in the outskirts of NQSC without a soul in sight.
Sunny quickly dove into the shadows. He stealthily made his way to the location he had been given, anticipating what would meet him there.
He mentally resolved himself to see all his friends again, this time as a new person. He sighed, 'What a mess…'
