Sunny walked up to the table Morgan chose to sit at. The cafe wasn't packed as the majority of customers had already passed through, but a decent number still remained.
She sat alone at a table that was somewhat removed from the rest, and he walked over to her.
'I can't assume she knows anything so I'll just take her order for now. I can probe her intentions later.' Sunny formulated a basic plan, and stopped in front of her.
Morgan looked up at him and a small smile grew on her face. Sunny couldn't help but shiver. The expression seemed innocent, but sunny couldn't help but feel like there were sinister undertones.
Something about the look in her eyes told him she was looking at him like prey, it was unlikely but Sunny's paranoia was what kept him alive.
He shook off the discomfort, smiled brightly and greeted her.
"Hello! Welcome to Sunny's Brilliant Emporium, what would you like to order?"
Morgan seemed to ponder for a moment before replying, "Is it too late to order waffles?"
Her voice was calm, giving no hints as to her purpose for coming here. Sunny frowned internally.
'Is she really just here for some food?' He felt some doubts but didn't let them show and soon answered her.
"Of course not, I have to cater for the awakened and civilians so all items on the menu can be ordered throughout the day."
Morgan nodded, "Then I'll have some waffles and a coffee please."
"I'll be with you shortly." Sunny acknowledged her order and moved to walk away.
'Seriously? Was I worried for nothing? She's really just here for food.' He began to doubt himself but soon raised his vigilance as Morgan called out again.
"Sorry, just one more thing," Sunny smiled darkly and turned around, his expression was fixed by the time she could see it.
'I knew that wasn't it.'
"Could I actually have two servings?" Sunny's expression faltered as he looked at her.
'Is it just me, or does she seem… embarrassed?' He was dumbfounded.
"Uh- yes! You can," He turned around again and walked away.

'AHHHH!' Morgan screamed in her head, 'why did I do that!?'
Morgan wasn't actually that hungry, she had been disappointed when he turned around and involuntarily called out so he would look at her again.
Her addition to the order was made up on the spot, she was honestly surprised she could get it out without stuttering. All her practice with dealing with people was useful.
'He looked at me strangely, now I look like a glutton.' Morgan knew why she was like this of course, but she had underestimated how much damage was done to her ability to control her emotions and nearly embarrassed herself.
Her thoughts were also trailing off and she couldn't do anything to stop them.
'Although… his flustered expression was kind of cute.'
Morgan wasn't in her usual state of mind, but honestly she didn't care. Her emotions weren't changed in any way, just amplified. It was rare that she was able to be true to herself like this.
'I might as well indulge a little before I have to go back.' Her thoughts then drifted to another thing she noted on previously.
'He makes memories doesn't he? Should I commision one?' She was the princess of a great clan, the spellsmiths of Valor were at her beck and call, so she obviously didn't need to commission a memory from a relatively unknown master.
Her thought was illogical and misguided, it wasn't in her nature to even think of such a thing, let alone seriously deliberate it.
Then again, her emotions had never been so prevalent and unsuppressed before, so maybe it was.
'If I commission a memory I could determine if he's good enough to be a forgemaster… and also spend more time with him.' She was making excuses and she knew it, but it wasn't a bad point.
Morgan realised she did not truly know what he was capable of, the reports she skimmed noted that his memories were weaker but with the benefit of having the exact enchantments asked for.
'Actually, that's somewhat suspicious.' Her mind cleared somewhat as she thought deeply, 'It's plausible that an aspect like that exists, but it's a lot more likely that he's more skilled than he lets on so Valor doesn't notice him.'
Her expression darkened, 'I'll have to investigate more thoroughly.'
She decided on her next course of action, joyful that they allowed her to spend more time with the enchanting master.
Her thoughts about him jolted her memory and she immediately grew embarrassed at her actions from before, holding her face in her hands.
'Am I really such a loose person?'

Back in the kitchen, Sunny's avatar was making two sets of waffles as he went to serve another table.
His mind was churning as he talked, splitting his mind had become second nature to him, so he didn't let on that he was thinking about something else in front of customers.
'It really seems she just came here for food.' Sunny still had his doubts but he relaxed a little.
'Either way, it's better to be cautious.' He starting thinking through questions she might ask and how to answer them without giving too much away.
'Wait… what if she orders a memory?' Sunny paused, 'No way, she has all of Valor catering for her.' But the thought became more and more plausible with each passing moment.
'If she's here to evaluate my ability to create memories, it's the most logical course of action to order one herself. That could also explain why she came in disguised.' Everything clicked together in his mind and he had a foreboding premonition.
'I need to show my ability enough otherwise my reputation will take a hit but I can't let on too much.' Sunny felt a headache forming and sighed internally.
'Something tells me this is going to be a long day.'
