The day passed quickly. Sunny chatted with and served the usual customers, relaxed without Morgan lurking in the corner.
Six days had passed since he agreed to take on the commission, it was possibly the fastest he'd ever created a memory of that complexity.
He watched as customers came and left, with less and less coming in as the day grew old. He was paying particular attention because Morgan came in at around this time, and soon noticed a blond woman walking through the door.
'There she is.' Sunny walked over with a smile.
"Welcome back, what would you like to order?" Morgan smiled back at him.
"Just a coffee please, but I do have a question." Sunny inwardly grimaced. He didn't let her get too many questions in, only two or three per day, but each one was so eerily pointed that he felt as though she was looking through him.
"Yes?"
"Do you have a higher favourability towards the White Feather Clan than to the main Valor Clan."
He appeared to think for a moment. "I'd say I do, I don't have any friends within the main Valor clan, but I am friendly with a few from White Feather."
He shortly continued, not allowing Morgan to ask another question. "I admit that I'm talking about the people within the clans and not the clan itself, but that's what matters to me."
Morgan studied his expression but soon sat back in her seat. "I see."
"I'll be with you shortly." Sunny walked away from her.
'Recently, she seems to be trying to dig up my past. How did she link me to the White Feather clan?' Sunny tried to guess the motives behind the question but didn't get very far. 'I don't have enough information.'
Morgan's first question was always relatively tame, but her follow ups were swift and critical. Sunny had given away many things about his past by now, luckily they were things that were hard to keep records of so she couldn't check and see that he wasn't there.
Sunny sometimes got really lucky and her questions allowed him to answer with something that she knew happened before he broke away from fate. When that happened, he effectively managed to give away no information.
Sunny made his way to the kitchen and started making her coffee, continuing to think as he did.
'I don't know how long it usually takes to make a memory, but considering Valor forgemasters have aspects uniquely suited for the job, they're more efficient than me with just sorcery, and six days isn't very impressive.'
Sunny didn't actually have much information on the Valor forgemasters, so he was merely making an educated guess.
Sunny finished making Morgan's coffee and began to bring it over. 'I just need to give her the memories, what's the worst that could happen?'

Morgan thought about Master Sunless' promise to finish two transcendent memories in two weeks. 'If he can pull it off, he'll be on par with our Spellsmiths.'
The average Valor spellsmith could create dozens of memories per year, averaging around one per week. 'But they work full time, if he can do that while juggling his cafe business, then he would be far better.'
'With that much ability, I could forgo the need for him to be a part of the main clan and make him a forgemaster anyway.' Morgan smiled, she could already envision a few ways to bring him to Valor.
'The hatred he has towards Valor might be a problem but it can be solved.' Morgan had managed to pry out of him that it wasn't just a simple aversion, but a full blown grudge that Master Sunless had towards Valor.
Today alone she had managed to figure out that he was friendly with the White Feather Clan and had likely been helped by them in the past. On the same note, she could roughly gauge how far removed from the main clan they were.
'It seems the White Feather clan is a lot less loyal than even I thought, they are likely to move against us when it matters.' The information she had gained was not all from one question, but rather the cumulative effect of many questions over the past week.
Morgan had also managed to glean some aspects of his flaw. It was something along the lines of always having to answer a question, and she believed it also had to be truthful.
Morgan looked up at Master Sunless as he walked back with her coffee.
"Here's your coffee." He placed her coffee in front of her and began to walk away.
"Thank you Sunny, can I call you that?" Sunny froze for a moment, and then turned around with a smile.
"Of course you can." Morgan smiled slightly wider while Sunny walked away once more.
She had also figured out that he knew who she was, perhaps from the very beginning. 'How quick to get away from me.' Morgan found his behaviour somewhat cute. He was like a timid rabbit trying to get away from her.
She sipped her coffee and watched Sunny serve another customer. 'I'll have to ask about how the memories are coming along today.'
Soon after she finished her coffee and she got in another quick question, the last customer left.
Sunny walked over to her once more, so she asked him what she was curious about. "How are the memories coming along?"
He smiled, a genuine smile, unlike the ones he had been giving her before. "I've been meaning to talk to you about that actually."
"Oh?" She was intrigued, it was rare for her to see him smile so brightly.
His next words caught her by surprise. "I've actually finished making them."
Morgan's eyes widened and then a dangerous glint appeared in them.
'I'm afraid this cafe will be closed indefinitely. He's coming to Valor, whether he likes it or not.'
Morgan got up from her chair and smiled brighter than ever before, "Lead the way."
