Chapter 32 - Legend

The buzz around the upcoming fight between Korea Team's Sung Min-Ki and two unknown challengers reached a fever pitch. Media outlets called it the "Fight of the Century," a spectacle that would unite millions of viewers across the globe. For Sung Min-Ki, it was a playful invitation, a chance to show off his skills against some "nobodies." Little did he know, he had unknowingly provoked the greatest player in Ranker history—MAD.

When Gok—known to the world as the legend MAD—heard Sung Min-Ki's challenge, his first instinct was to decline. After all, what was the point of fighting for entertainment? But after discovering that Dun Lee, the 14-year-old they'd helped, was none other than the son of President Jung E-Yan, Gok changed his mind.

The president personally requested to meet Gok and Wu-Ji, wanting to thank them for protecting his son. Moved by the gesture, Gok agreed to the fight, reasoning that it would be a way to remind the world of what true power looked like.

The Day of Reckoning

The arena was packed. Thousands of spectators filled the seats, and millions more watched live broadcasts from every corner of the world. As the sun set, casting a fiery glow across the sky, the fighters entered the arena.

Sung Min-Ki strutted in confidently, his team watching from the sidelines with disinterest. To them, this was just another meaningless show. The announcers hyped up the crowd, recounting Sung Min-Ki's accomplishments and calling him the "Champion of the Towers."

Then Gok and Wu-Ji stepped into the arena.

The Return of MAD

Gasps rippled through the crowd as they recognized Gok's unmistakable appearance. Though his long hair and beard gave him a rugged, older look, there was no mistaking the piercing gaze and powerful aura that once dominated the Ranker world.

"Is that... MAD?" someone in the crowd whispered.

"It can't be... He disappeared 21 years ago!"

But it was him. The legend had returned, and the world was not ready.

Sung Min-Ki, oblivious to the magnitude of his opponent, smirked. "Nice cosplay," he quipped. "Let's see if you can back it up."

Wu-Ji stood silently beside Gok, his Infinity Dagger glowing faintly. He didn't care about Sung Min-Ki's taunts; his focus was on the battle ahead.

The Fight Begins

As the bell rang to signal the start, Sung Min-Ki charged forward, his body glowing with an impressive array of buffs and enhancements. He moved like lightning, his fists aimed directly at Gok.

But Gok didn't flinch.

With a casual motion, he raised his hand and caught Sung Min-Ki's punch mid-air. The crowd fell silent as the sheer force of the impact sent shockwaves through the arena, but Gok stood unshaken.

Sung Min-Ki's smirk faltered. "What the—?"

Before he could react, Gok flicked his wrist, sending Sung Min-Ki flying across the arena like a ragdoll. The younger man crashed into the ground, creating a massive crater.

A Display of Power

The audience erupted into chaos. This wasn't the playful game they had expected—this was a massacre in the making.

Sung Min-Ki struggled to his feet, his face twisted with anger and disbelief. "You... you're not normal," he stammered.

"No," Gok replied, his voice calm but filled with authority. "I'm MAD."

Wu-Ji, watching from the sidelines, grinned. "You're not even using 10% of your strength, are you?"

Gok shook his head. "No need to. This is just for fun, right?"

The Endgame

Sung Min-Ki, refusing to back down, unleashed his most powerful attack—a blinding barrage of energy strikes aimed directly at Gok. The arena lit up like a supernova, and for a moment, it seemed as if Sung Min-Ki might stand a chance.

But as the dust settled, Gok emerged unscathed. With a single swing of his fist, he shattered Sung Min-Ki's energy shield and knocked him unconscious.

The crowd was stunned into silence.

Aftermath

As the fight ended, the announcers struggled to find words to describe what had just happened. Gok turned to Wu-Ji. "I hope that was entertaining enough for them."

Wu-Ji laughed. "Entertaining? You just reminded the world why you're the legend."

From the sidelines, President Jung E-Yan watched with a mix of awe and fear. He approached Gok after the fight, bowing deeply. "Thank you for protecting my son," he said. "And thank you for showing the world what true power looks like."

Gok nodded, his expression unreadable. "The world's changed, Mr. President. But some things never will."

As they left the arena, Gok and Wu-Ji knew this was only the beginning. The return of MAD had set the stage for something far greater—and far more dangerous—than they had ever faced before.
