The storm had settled by the next day, but the place was still filled with unease.
The pack was very tense, their movements paused as they had to reinforced the borders, increasing their defenses for the upcoming war against Dante.
Lucia sat on entrance steps of the lodge, covering her arms around her knees. She can still feel the pain from training, but her mind was not calm.
The declaration of Evelyn's betrayal, Dante's request, and the increase of fractures within the pack all mixed up together in her head refusing to calm.
She closed her eyes and breath out. What would my mother do?
The thought surprised her. It had been a long time since she had allowed herself to think about Maeve without pain.
A sudden disturbance from the western side of the camp cut her from her thoughts.
"Alpha! We have a visitor." A scout ran toward the lodge, his breathing heavy.
