Lucia moved through the deep forest, her senses were sharp as they returned. The thought of Alder's challenge was still pressing down on her, but she refused to let doubt came in.
Somewhere out here, a rogue wolf was going around, one she had to kill to prove her worth.
Beside her, Kain moved with quiet precision, his presence was both assuring and frustrating at the same time.
He had not wanted her to take this mission alone, and despite Alder insisting that she came alone, Kain had made it clear to him that he was coming with her.
Lucia had not argued. She knew better than to think Kain would let her walk into danger without him.
"Stay close," Kain murmured, barely above a whisper.
"I am close." Lucia rolled her eyes.
"Closer," he corrected.
"This rogue is not just any stray. If Alder considers it a real threat, it means something is really off." He stated.
