At the entrance of Westham College stood a young, beautiful girl staring intently. Mira had just arrived, and all the wait was worth it, she thought. A wave of emotions was evident in her eyes, with so much thought swirling in her head. She had worked hard to get here, driven by the desire to make her mother proud.
As she looked up at the towering buildings and bustling students, she felt a sense of accomplishment and anticipation for the journey ahead. Mira adjusted the strap of her backpack and took a deep breath. Her mother, Katherine, stood beside her, beaming with pride and hope.
"I'm so proud of you, Mira," she said, giving her daughter a tight hug. "You've worked so hard to get here, and I know you're going to do great things."
"Thanks, Mom," Mira replied, her voice filled with gratitude. "I couldn't have done it without your support."
As they made their way through the campus, Mira couldn't help but marvel at the beauty of the university. The ivy-clad buildings, the well-manicured lawns, and the vibrant energy of the students filled her with a sense of wonder, the environment gave off a vibe she can't place a finger on. She knew this was where she was meant to be and would stop at nothing to have success.
The campus was alive with activity, students rushing to and fro, some laughing and chatting with friends, while others looked more serious, clutching books and notebooks. Mira felt a thrill of excitement as she watched, eager to be a part of this vibrant community.
As they walked, Katherine pointed out various landmarks, including the library, the student union, the dormitories and so on. Mira listened intently, taking mental notes of the layout and trying to get her bearings, so as to know her way about around here.
"I'm so glad we got to campus early," Katherine said, smiling. "It's always less chaotic in the morning."
Mira nodded in agreement. "Yeah, it's nice to get a feel for the place before all the hustle and bustle starts."
As they continued their tour, Mira's excitement grew. She couldn't wait to start classes, meet new people, and explore all that Westham had to offer.
Meanwhile, on the other side of campus, stood a guy giving off a dangerous vibe, that clearly says don't mess with me. Jake was having a very different experience. He stood at the entrance of Westham College, feeling a mix of resentment and frustration. Unlike Mira, Jake wasn't excited about college. He was here because his father, Robert, had insisted on it.
"Jake, this is an important step for your future," Robert had said sternly. "You need to take your education seriously if you want to succeed."
Jake had always been a free spirit, more interested in exploring the world and pursuing his passions than following a conventional path. But his father's pressure had led him to Westham, and now he found himself reluctantly walking through the campus.
As he trudged along, Jake couldn't help but feel trapped by his father's expectations. As he taught about it, ever since his father came into the picture, he hasn't really been himself. He had always felt stifled by his father's wealth and privilege, and now he was being forced to conform to his father's idea of success.
Jake's eyes scanned the campus, taking in the Gothic-style buildings and the manicured lawns. It all seemed so fake and superficial to him, a facade hiding the true nature of the college and its students. Nonetheless, this was his fate now and he had to accept it.
As he walked, Jake noticed a group of students gathered near the student union, laughing and chatting. He felt a pang of loneliness, wondering if he would ever find his place here. He was clearly forced against his will to be here after all.
Back on the main quad, Mira and her mother reached Hartford Hall, the dorm where Mira would be living for the next year. They climbed the stairs to the second floor and found her room, a cozy space with two beds, two desks, and a window that overlooked the quad.
"Here we are," Katherine said, setting down Mira's suitcase. "It's a nice room. I'm sure you'll make it feel like home in no time."
Mira nodded, taking in the space. She was excited to meet her roommate and start this new chapter of her life. As they began unpacking her things, Mira felt a sense of anticipation and hope for the future.
As they worked, Katherine chatted with Mira about her classes, her professors, and her expectations for the year. Mira listened intently, feeling grateful for her mother's support and guidance.
After they finished unpacking, Katherine gave Mira a tight hug. "I'm going to miss you so much," she said, her voice trembling.
Mira hugged her back, feeling a lump form in her throat. "I'll miss you too, Mom," she said. "But I'll be okay. I promise."
Katherine smiled, wiping away tears. "I know you will, sweetie. You're strong and capable. I just want you to be happy and fulfilled. Am here for you, always and forever".
Mira nodded, feeling a sense of determination. "I will, Mom. I promise to make you proud, I'll do my best here".
As Katherine left, Mira felt a sense of excitement and nervousness. She was finally on her own, starting a new chapter of her life. She took a deep breath, feeling a sense of anticipation for the adventures that lay ahead. She taught about herself and why she was her in the first place.
As the day went on, Mira settled into her new routine, meeting her roommate, attending orientation, and exploring the campus. She felt a sense of wonder and excitement, eager to learn and grow.
Meanwhile, Jake struggled to adjust to this new life. He was kind of reluctant to open up to his new environment, but he made little adjustment anyways.
