Chapter 1 - Death

Death was the biggest fear of most people, religious or not. For Vince Vice it wasn't something too scary tho, what was scary was living a boring life. Which he had, well according to him at least.

But who would've thought the most exciting moment of his life was after his death?

[Spin the wheel, select your world]

A ethereal mass vaguely in the shape of a man stands with a hand on its chin, seemingly looking at those floating words. It's surrounded by pure darkness, and a comically large wheel with writing in no descernible language on it. What the figure of the wheel is standing on is unclear.

'Hmm, random world for reincarnation? Or maybe I posses a body or something; could I ask it?'

The thing, now known to be a man; raised his head and asks his question.

"Hey system thingy, how does this reincarnation work?"

Seemingly unphased by the lack of an answer he mumbles under his breath.

"Thought so.."

'Well I might as well just spin it, really hope I don't get a world like Warhammer or something, that's too much even for me..'

He walks over to the wheel and pulls down hard, for a moment he thinks back to his time in arcades and how he would often like spinning the wheels there. Though he's never won a jackpot before..

The wheel spins both slowly but fast at the same time, kind of like how a fast fan almost looks stationary.

The man watches in quiet anticipation as the wheel slows enough to be visible, it eventually lands on….

"The fuck does that say?"

The writing on the wheel is as discernible as ever it seems.

For the first time since being here the man shows some irritation and angrily starts to talk to himself.

"Uhh, am I supposed to be able to read this or what. Doesn't seem like the smartest set up, so now what I just fuckin-"

[The Witcher]

He flinched.

The sudden reappearance of the floating text had startled him, under his breath he says

"Coulda did that earlier.."

He shakes his head and collects himself.

'The Witcher huh…not…too bad? Comparatively there were definitely worse places I guess, although where exactly I'm going is still unclear. Am I going to a time of one of the games or the books, or the tv show or something? I only played the games after all, we'll just the third one. Am I even being sent to a time I'm aware of? Being sent thousands or more years into the future or past wouldn't be good…'

His musings are cut short by yet another wheel, some more text, and what looks like one of the test your strength things they have at carnivals. The ones you hit with the hammers.

The text in front of the wheel says the following

[Spin for your random gift]

The text in front of the test your strength machine says

[Select your gifts]

"…"

'The hell does this mean? How am I supposed to select my gifts, and what even are gifts. I assume their like wishes or something. Hmm.'

"I wish for omnipotence."

'Yeah didn't think so, how about..'

"I wish for a Saiyan bloodline."

"I wish for an elf bloodline?"

The test your strength machine suddenly increases a good amount in the number, as if someone hit it heavily with a hammer.

"Interesting…"

"I wish for a gun"

"I wish for a super soldier serum"

The number went up slightly

"I want all the practical knowledge of Geralt of Rivia"

The number went up less than the serum wish.

"I wish to be a ancient vampire"

" I wish to be a normal vampire"

The number went up again, higher than the serum but lower than the elf bloodline. The number is now nearing the top

Though the man doesn't have any real facial expressions in his ethereal state one could definitely tell he was smirking.

"I understand it now."

Some more testing went by and it seemed that he figured out how it works. Thankfully he could also take back his previously stated wishes, something he definitely should have been more cautious about.

'It seems that anything too powerful of a wish would be invalid, same thing for wishes that go against the world setting. Guns and advanced technology for example. And wishes that rely on an energy would seemingly adjust to use the magical energy in the Witcher instead.'

'It also seems like wishes that have a clear equivalent exchange are less expensive of a wish. Same for wishes with strict rules attached to them.'

'The most expensive wishes are those that give immediate boosts in power, the least expensive are those that give almost no immediate boost. Like wishes to gain knowledge for example.'

He sighs and looks towards the new wheel

'Now for this. I'll plan my wishes around whatever I get here. Hopefully it's not too bad.'

And so he spun the wheel, the process was the same as it was before and eventually it slowed to a stop and landed on…

He still couldn't read it. This time he knew to wait however, and seconds later those floating words once again appeared.

[Qunari bloodline]

'Like…from dragon age? I've only played Inquisition, and only a few hours of it at that. Though I did like it, and funny enough my character was a Qunari.'

'Hmm, this might actually be a pretty good gift. I'm not sure how strong Qunari exactly are, but I'm sure there multiple times stronger than humans in all capacities. And the humans in the Witcher have regular strength as well so I should be pretty strong.'

'Though I'm not sure how strong Witchers are either I'm pretty sure Qunari should still be a good deal stronger than them as well, though worse senses and speed probably.'

'Wait. Would Witchers come after me? I mean Qunari are pretty monsterous looking. Hmm, if I remember correctly; in Witcher 3 Geralt was pretty cordial with some of the more chill monsters even helping some of them, like the little blue guys. I don't know if Geralt is unique in this capacity tho. Hmm, better prepare for it just in case.'

He turns to the test your strength meter and the excitement almost radiates off of him.

'Now for the wishes..'
