Chapter 51 - chapter 51

 Ivonne's POV

"I had a feeling," I inhaled briefly and stared into space, the thoughts whirling around in my head about what next to do.

"They didn't come alone," he went on to say and my ears perked up.

"How do you mean?" I implored, running my fingers through my brown hair, my feet unconsciously tapping on the floor.

"They came with guns too," he informed and my breath hitched, the gravity of the situation washing over me. "Loaded with silver bullets."

"Where are they advancing from?" I interrogated as I began pacing the kitchen space. "How did they get in? What were the guards doin--"

"Luna," Jarvis called out to me, halting my interrogative session. "Please stay indoors. This is going to be a battle judging from their estimated numbers. The Alpha gave a warning not to let you or any of your maids be in danger."

"Well screw your fucking Alpha and his rules," I growled in annoyance, my feet coming to a halt as I hit my bottom lip in thought. "Heaven knows I won't stay idle and watch the pack crumble before my very eyes."

"Luna please, I beg of you," he begged but it all landed on deaf ears as I was completely adamant. "The Alpha would our heads and be devastated if anything happened to you."

"Jarvis," I breathed his name in a bid to calm down. The combination of worry and rage wasn't good and I needed to be level-headed in sorting things out. "I won't be hurt."

"We can't assure that Luna," he argued, coming off as irritated. "However the only way that would be possible is if you listen and stay indoors."

Ignoring his words I went straight to ask. "Where are you now?"

"Currently at the pack house," he informed and I could hear noise in the background.

"Why in the pack house?" I questioned in confusion. "Shouldn't you be heading to the borders and meet them before they advance further?"

"Luna," he started. "They have already advanced further into our pack lands and wrecking havoc."

"So what are you doing by idling away there?" I growled out the query, the girls around me bestowing me a worried glimpse but I didn't care to explain. They must have been hearing his response with the sharp werewolves senses we all had.

"I'm not idling away Luna," he disagreed. "I have mindlinked all the warriors in the pack and I'm waiting for all of them to report in the hall so I can lay out the plan to them on how to tackle this."

"Did you come up with a plan?" I inquired and whirled to Lora, pointing at the pot I had abandoned and cooker, hoping she'd understand what I meant.

"The Alpha did before he left," he revealed and I was stunned. How the hell was Tobias able to be so thorough? Lincoln wouldn't have been half as prepared as that even if he was present, and here was someone who had drafted out a plan and given out orders to be executed in his absence.

"Luna, are you there?" Jarvis asked when I was silent for some moments.

"Yes I am," I affirmed and nodded at Lora who had already gone to do my bid. "I'm heading over there now."

"No Luna this is dangerous," he tried to discourage me as I strolled out of the kitchen and into the living room. "One of them rogues might be lurking in hiding outside the mansion, and it could be a risk."

"I know what I signed up for by being a Luna Jarvis," I declared and covered the distance to the door. "So there is no way I'm going to back down from this situation."

"You might be their target Luna," he went on to say. "And putting yourself in the spotlight is not going to end well."

"Well I've always been known to defeat the odds, Jarvis and I know this is not going to be an exception." I unlocked the entrance door and stepped outside.

The guards at the entrance noticed my presence and crossed their silver spears in my face, blocking my path. Lifting a brow I asked the man I was talking to on the phone. "Was this also part of the Alpha's plan?"

"Yes," he announced and I scoffed as more of our men ran to circle around the front of the house, probably alerted by Garret and his partner in an attempt to hinder my movements. "He set extreme measures in place. Maybe because he knew you may protest."

"He really did," I smirked. "But he forgot I have equal authority as the Luna."

"What are you planning to do Luna? Please just—" I didn't let him finish as I disconnected the call and shoved the device into the pocket of my shorts.

"Three of you," I pointed at three angry looking warriors. "Stay back with the guards and watch the house. I don't want anything happening to my girls."

"The rest of you," I faced the others. "Follow me to the pack house."

I took a step forward but nobody and nothing budged. Neither the spears nor the men. Inhaling a deep breath, I rationed my thoughts and pushed authority and calmness to the forefront of my mind.

Giving Ria a bit of control, her voice mixing with mine, I said a single word with great power. "Now!"

It all seemed as if they awoke from a slumber as instantly, my order was executed as the silver spears dropped from my vision and the warriors arranged themselves according to my command.

Nodding at them in appreciation I stalked forward, about six warriors following after me while the rest stayed behind. Determination flowed through my veins and for some reason I didn't feel any ounce of fear.

As my steps led me to the pack house, I could hear chaos and shouts in the distance, however the area around me felt a bit calm. The warriors around me also gave me comfort and safety as I walked.

I wondered where I got the courage from to disobey Tobias. Anyone would have agreed to his plans especially when it came to their safety rather I was surprisingly the opposite.

A strength and power like I had never felt before flowed through my veins. Maybe it was because of Ria's presence or because I now had someone by my side and I knew he wouldn't let me down or hurt me even if I ended up making a bad decision.

I arrived at the pack house and simply trudged inward. The door was already open and the hall was filled with people, mostly warriors. The men I could see were shirtless with only a pair of sweatpants while the ladies were in sports bras and biker shorts.

"Is anybody missing?" Jarvis's authoritative voice questioned the audience as I made my way in between the crowd to the front, a path clearing as they bowed the instant they spotted me.

"Yes," I announced as I was almost at the stage. I could see him but he hadn't spotted me yet. Finally coming out of the congregation I trudged to stand beside him. "Me."

"Luna," Jarvis uttered and bowed his body clad in the same sweatpants like the other men.

"I know this is going to be a tough battle," I said to them. "I also know the lack of the Alpha's presence may affect your moral."

There were a few whispers after I said so as they turned to themselves murmuring.

"Silence!" Jarvis blurted in a loud tone.
