Chapter 57 - Chapter 57

vonne's POV

My fingers grazed the heart shaped diamond that rested on my cleavage, every inch of the necklace shining under the light of the room as I faced the floor length mirror.

Tobias had stolen my breath away by gifting me the necklace two days ago by the stream. It was a miracle I didn't end up strangling him in a hug as I couldn't contain my excitement at the present.

He had put it on me and since then I never dared to remove it for anything. Thankfully it was an original piece that would never get rusted by water or my sweat so I was good to go.

After hanging it on me, we decided to stroll on our way back to the pack. I drilled him about when he got it and he said it was during his trip to Australia.

He had planned to gift it to me as soon as he returned, however the rogue attack and my health condition after made it impossible and so he had to hold back.

I told him I loved it and since then another barrier between us had been removed, bringing us more into each other's feelings and understanding.

"Are you going with that dress?" Lora asked from behind me, her vision scanning my choice of clothing as I stood in front of the reflective glass.

"What do you think?" I inquired and took a step away from the mirror and turned to face her.

It was a long red dress made of bodycon material that hugged my figure in the right corner. The upper part had a deep cleavage and an open back with long-sleeves. It was beautiful really but I didn't think it was fitting.

"Maybe try the next?" Lora suggested, bending to pick up another from the bed. "I don't think the one you are wearing is a Galant Ball dress."

"Same thoughts dear, same thoughts," I bobbed my head and took the one she reached out. Whirling for my back to be at her front I said. "Help me unhook the clip."

"Okay Luna," she answered and the next moment I heard a clip and felt the material get freed from behind.

"Here, hold," I murmured, returning the second dress to her as I pulled my arms out of the sleeves and stepped out of the beautiful red dress. "I'm keeping it though. For a fitting occasion."

"The Alpha said to keep any dress you like," Lora revealed and I raised a brow in surprise, pausing with one leg in the air before I went on with my actions. "Even if you decide to keep all."

"Wow," I let out, a small smile on my lips. "That's nice of him."

"I'm beginning to think so too," Lora murmured shyly. "Even this pack. Everyone is friendly, understanding and most of all protective of you Luna. You made a great choice bringing us here."

"Trust me, I'm happy I did," I said and took the dress from her.

Holding the short sleeves apart, I matched into it and pulled it up. It was a navy blue dress, the design meant for it to flow in a wavy flare style from the waist downward till my ankles.

It had an open back and a deep neckline like the first, however the neckline was made of two boxes, a space in between them showing edges of my boobs and allowing the necklace I was given sit proudly.

"This is beautiful," Lora commented and I did a u-turn and strolled to the reflective glass. Seeing the way I looked made me not in appreciation.

"This is the one," I smiled at Lora through the mirror and she smiled back from where she was standing behind me in a floor length maroon colored dress with thin straps holding the dress up and a modest neckline, her hair in a French twist. "You look amazing Lora."

"I appreciate the compliment Luna," she board, a blush staining her cheeks. "And you appear stunning."

"Thank you, thank you." I did a dramatic wave and we both chuckled. "Allison might not take this well," she winked at me, a corny look in her eyes.

"Oh I can't wait to see her," I grinned my head tilting to the side as I tried to imagine her expression. "Nothing beats the real thing."

"I know," Lora giggled and I smoothened the dress, giving myself a once over.

Tobias had organized a ball to celebrate our victory against the rogues who attacked in his absence. It had been a month now and thankfully his anger at me had diminished.

My training was still ongoing and I felt myself becoming stronger even Ria was too as she seemed energized recently. I was yet to officially introduce her to Tobias though I was yet to meet his wolf too.

I had it at the back of my mind that we do it soon and if everything went well with the ball it would be a nice mood for us to do so. I only prayed he'd agree to it though I saw no reason why he'd decline.

As for the ball it was a way for the warriors and pack members to cool off and unwind after the chaos of the past weeks. Aside from that it was to put the word out there that we were a strong pack who is capable even in their Alpha's absence.

It was also to rub our relationship and my progress in Lincoln's and Allison's face which was one of the reasons why I was excited.

Evening had set in and the time was drawing near for the pack house to be filled with guests.

Lora, Annalise, the other maids had set up the decorations Tobias and I chose together. Yeah it was shocking when I told him I'd need his opinion and he obliged, making the activity a bit fun and not strenuous.

The pack hall was lit up by the chandeliers and other extra lights that were part of the declaration, castinh a golden glow on everything and everyone beneath it.

Lollies and roses were hung on the walls and filled the little vases on the tables, and the large vases which stood at every corner of the space. Classical music was being played and champagne was being served on tall glasses.

Conversations flowed freely as well as laughter as people mingled and rekindled old acquaintances. Just as I had told Tobias, there was no discrimination or separation between the pack members and the distinguished guests.

Everyone was free to interact as long as they were being respectful and so far there was no issues or complaints whatsoever. Security was tight despite the facts the guards and warriors were in on the celebration.

They still did their jobs from wherever they were, eyes and ears sharp and alert even in their fancy tuxedos and ball gowns. The ball was in full swing and I couldn't be any happier.

My elbow linked in Tobias arm, we appeared like the perfect couple with smiles on our faces as we checked around, making sure our guests and pack members were having fun.

He looked handsome as ever in a black suit and a navy tie, coincidentally we matched and I was shocked and happy at the same time when I noticed, he was too.

"It's time for my speech dear," he whispered in my ear as we arrived back at our table.
