"Have you seen Prince Lincoln?" Hayden asks the maid and my heart raise as I wait for her answer
"Yes, he took princess Raya to the stables" she says and I pale before running towards the stables with Hayden right on my heels yelling for her to get the guards.
We reach the stables out of breath and Hayden immediately wrenches the doors open, but there's no one inside besides the horses.
"Where could they-" I ask but Hayden shushes me before taking out his sword and walking into one of the horse stables and that's when I hear whimpering. He gently pushes the chestnut mare to the side to reveal Raya tied up but unharmed. I let out a sigh of relief before stepping forward as Hayden unties her and I hold my arms open for her when she's free.
"Are you okay?" I ask and when she nods, I ask "Did he hurt you? In any way?"
"No, mom" I hug her tightly to me but my eyes narrow on the rope that was used to tie her up.
The same rope Kelly used to kill herself.
My heart drops to my stomach and I stare at Hayden with wide eyes "Kelly didn't kill herself, Lincoln killed her and made it look like a suicide"
Hayden huffs "Bastard"
Something is not adding up though, because why would he bring Raya to the stables just to tie her up?
A distraction.
I gasp "Junior"
I can see the second it clicks for him because his face pale and he bolts out of the stables, back to the castle.
"Ray, come with me" I say in a hurry as I all but drag her with me to the castle, praying to every god out there that Lincoln is just teasing me a bit. That he won't actually hurt my children. His brother's children.
"I can't find him!" Hayden yells when we reach the castle and I can hear the panic in his voice as he gives out orders to the maids and guards to look everywhere.
"Your Grace" everyone glances at the guard "There seems to be movement on the castle roof"
