After putting Raya somewhere safe, Hayden and I make our way to the rooftop and if circumstances were different I would've enjoyed the feeling of his hand in mine.
"Is that a woman with Rome?" Hayden asks as he squints to see better
My eyes catch the blonde hair and I immediately relax before letting out a sigh "It's Keshia. He's with my sister, he's safe" He frowns and I step forward "Keshia! Why are you guys on the roof?"
I immediately know something's wrong when she turns around and I see the blank look on her face as she keeps Junior's arm. And I make my way to them but Hayden tightens his hold on my hand when we see Keshia moving more to the edge.
"Mom, help me" Junior says and I got a pit in my stomach because I know he's afraid of heights
"It's okay, baby" I say reassuringly before glaring at my sister "What the hell are you doing?"
"What I've been asked"
"From who?" Hayden demands
She's quiet for a moment before saying "Lincoln"
What? No, no this can't be fucken happening.
"Keshia, stop messing around this isn't funny." I say as Hayden holds his sword in his other hand.
"It was never supposed to be funny" she says dryly like she's a robot listening to the words of someone else.
Tears slide down my face as my son's cries for help grow louder "Let him go please. He's my baby"
She stares at me for a moment and I think she might listen to me but then she says "All hail King Lincoln" before pushing him over the edge.
"No!" I yell at the top of my lungs and Hayden and I both dart forward to catch him but neither of us make it in time. Junior's cries are the last thing I hear before there's a loud thud and suddenly silence.
I drop to my knees as I let out a loud cry while Hayden grabs Keshia but I'm not even focusing on them right. All I'm looking at is my son's lifeless body at the bottom.
