Chapter 28 - Chapter 28 {145 Million Gold Krugers}

Peyton's eyes widened in fear as the invisible swords closed in around her. She turned to Azriel, her face pale, but he just gazed at her with a cold, unyielding expression. Akira, still holding the needle, turned back to Josie, her eyes never leaving the patient's face.

"I'm not using black magic," she said, her voice detached.

"I'm using a specialized technique to stabilize her condition. You wouldn't understand." The invisible swords seemed to press in closer, and Peyton took a step back, her eyes fixed on Azriel.

"Fine," she spat, turning to leave.

"I'll get out of here. But this isn't over." Azriel's gaze never wavered, his eyes cold and unyielding.

"It's over," he said, his voice firm.

"For now."

The doors to the room slid open, and Peyton stormed out, her face red with anger. The doors closed behind her, and the room fell silent. Akira's gaze never wavered, her eyes fixed on Josie's face. Azriel's eyes flicked to Akira, his gaze intense.

"Please," he said, his voice low and urgent.

"Save her. I don't care what it takes." Akira's expression never changed, but her hands moved with a swift, precise motion as she continued to work on Josie. The machines surrounding the bed beeped and whirred, and the air seemed to vibrate with magical energy. Cruz watched, his eyes fixed on Josie's face, his expression hopeful. And Akira... Akira's gaze never wavered, her eyes fixed on Josie's face, her expression cold and detached.

Akira was cold and indifferent as she kept on walking her movements were so swift and calm. As she kept on her movements she slightly frowned as she waved her fingers as a pen moved on the paper. After she was finished she yawned and she grabbed a bowl she put in herbs and started mixing ingredients. Each movements Akira made Azriel watched careful he would look away from her to desecrate himself. Why is this woman so damn beautiful even though his shadow guards have reported to him before this is truly the first time being in the same room with her. She did not mind it.

Akira's eyes never flickered, her gaze fixed on the mixture she was creating. Her movements were swift and precise, her fingers moving with a gentle, practiced touch. She added a pinch of this, a dash of that, her eyes never leaving the mixture. As she worked, her expression remained calm, her features serene. Azriel's gaze was drawn to her, his eyes fixed on her face. He couldn't help but be captivated by her beauty, her movements, her very presence. He felt a pang of guilt, knowing that he shouldn't be thinking of her in this way, not when Josie was lying in a coma. But he couldn't help it. Akira was like a magnet, drawing him in with her calm, detached demeanor. He looked away, his eyes scanning the room, trying to distract himself. But his gaze kept drifting back to her, his eyes drawn to her like a moth to flame. Akira, oblivious to Azriel's gaze, continued to mix the ingredients, her movements smooth and practiced. She added a final pinch of herbs, and then set the bowl aside, her eyes flicking up to Azriel's face.

"It's done," she said, her voice calm and detached.

"The mixture will need to be administered to Josie immediately."

Azriel's eyes met Akira's, his gaze lingering for a moment before he nodded, his expression serious.

"I'll have Cruz administer it," he said, his voice firm. Cruz, who had been watching the exchange, nodded and stepped forward, his eyes fixed on the mixture. Akira handed him the bowl, her movements swift and precise. As Cruz took the bowl, Akira's eyes flicked back to Azriel, her gaze meeting his for a brief moment. Then, she turned away, her attention returning to Josie's bedside. Azriel's eyes followed her, his gaze drawn to her back. He felt a pang of frustration, knowing that he couldn't read her, couldn't understand what was going on behind those calm, detached eyes. He turned away, his eyes scanning the room, trying to distract himself. But his gaze kept drifting back to Akira, his mind whirling with questions. Who was this woman, really? What secrets was she hiding behind that calm, beautiful face?

"Hehe brother do you still want to chase after my best friend your son already calls her Fairy Aunt, what that scheme of yours is failing using your son, if I am not wrong your son is now protective over Akira" Reina whispered and Azriel became ice cold and flicked his sister away who stuck her tongue out she was shocked honestly to find her best friend understand medical skills.

Azriel's eyes narrowed, his expression cold.

"That's enough, Reina," he said, his voice low and warning. Reina's eyes sparkled with amusement, but she backed off, a mischievous grin still on her face. Akira, oblivious to the tension, continued to work on Josie, her movements calm and precise. Reina's eyes flicked to Akira, her expression thoughtful.

"I didn't know she was a medical expert too," she whispered to Azriel, her voice full of surprise. Azriel's gaze never wavered, his eyes fixed on Akira's back.

"There's a lot you don't know about her," he said, his voice cold and detached.

Reina's eyes sparkled with curiosity, but she knew better than to push Azriel's buttons when he was in this mood. She nodded, her expression serious, and turned to leave. As she reached the door, she turned back to Azriel, her voice barely above a whisper.

"You're going to have to be careful, brother. Akira's not like the other women you've...dated. She's different." Azriel's gaze never wavered, his eyes fixed on Akira's back. He didn't respond, but Reina could sense the tension in his body. She nodded, her expression serious, and slipped out of the room, leaving Azriel to his thoughts. Akira, still working on Josie, seemed oblivious to the tension in the air, her movements calm and precise. But as Reina left, she felt a shiver run down her spine. There was something about Akira that didn't quite add up, something that made her feel like she was hiding secrets behind those calm, detached eyes.

Akira's hands moved with swift precision, the needles disappearing into Josie's skin with barely a sound. Josie's body tensed, but Akira's touch was gentle, her movements soothing. Azriel's eyes watched, his gaze fixed on Akira's hands, his expression unreadable. The machines surrounding the bed beeped softly, their rhythmic hum a steady accompaniment to Akira's work.

As Akira continued to work, her eyes never left Josie's face, her gaze intense. Her hands moved with a precision that was almost surgical, the needles disappearing into Josie's skin with ease. Azriel's eyes watched, his gaze fixed on Akira's hands, his expression unreadable. The air was thick with tension, the only sound the soft beeping of the machines and the gentle hum of the hospital equipment. Suddenly, Josie's body twitched, her eyes flickering open. Akira's gaze locked onto Josie's face, her eyes narrowing slightly.

"Josie?" she said, her voice soft.

"Can you hear me?" Josie's eyes fluttered, her gaze unfocused. Akira's hands moved quickly, her fingers probing Josie's pulse.

"She's coming out of it," she said, her voice calm. Azriel's eyes snapped to Josie's face, his expression hopeful.

Azriel's eyes widened in shock, his gaze fixed on Josie's face. He nodded, his voice barely above a whisper.

"I'll make sure to follow your instructions." Reina, who had been watching from the doorway, stepped forward, her eyes shining with tears.

"Akira, how...how did you do it?" Akira's expression remained cold, her eyes never leaving Josie's face.

"Just follow my instructions," she repeated, her voice detached.

"No we are best friend explain it," Rein said and Akira chuckled at her best friend and hooked her arm around Reina.

"How about you explain to me how you are a princess of a main family we have known each other for so long." Reina looked away as the woman walked together.

"Ms. Akira please wait a moment," Azriel said as he glared at Reina who looked away. Is her damn brother is so jealous poor Akira she patted Akira shoulder and walked away. Akira frowned she was confused.

"Crown Prince Azriel," Akira said indifferently.

"How much is this cost."

Azriel's eyes narrowed, his gaze fixed on Akira's face.

"The cost?" he repeated, his voice low.

"You're asking about the cost?" Akira nodded, her expression cold.

"Yes, I am. I don't work for free, Crown Prince. I have expenses to pay and people to support." Azriel's eyes seemed to bore into her, his gaze intense.

"I'll pay whatever it takes," he said, his voice firm.

"Just make sure Josie recovers fully." Akira's expression didn't change, but she nodded.

"Very well. I'll send you the bill." She turned to leave, but Azriel's voice stopped her.

"Ms. Akira." She turned back, her eyes meeting his.

"What is it, Crown Prince?" Azriel's eyes seemed to search her face, his gaze intense.

"I want to know more about you," he said, his voice low.

"Who are you, really?" Akira's expression didn't change, but a hint of amusement danced in her eyes.

"I'm just a doctor, Crown Prince," she said, her voice detached.

"Nothing more, nothing less."

Azriel's eyes narrowed, his gaze fixed on Akira's face.

"I don't believe you," he said, his voice low. Akira's expression didn't change, but a hint of amusement danced in her eyes.

"Believe what you want, Crown Prince," she said, her voice detached.

"I'm just a doctor who wants to get paid." She turned to leave, her movements fluid.

"I'll send you the bill," she repeated, before walking away, leaving Azriel to his thoughts.

"I need care as well as you can see I am in a wheelchair," Azriel said as he had a sly smile on his handsome face and Akira sneered what is this guy planning?

Akira's eyes narrowed, her gaze fixed on Azriel's face.

"I'm not a personal care assistant, Crown Prince," she said, her voice cold.

"I'm a doctor. I can provide you with medical care, but I'm not here to cater to your every whim." Azriel's smile never wavered, his eyes glinting with amusement.

"Oh, I think you'll find that you're exactly what I need, Ms. Akira," he said, his voice low.

"I'll make it worth your while, of course. I'll pay you triple your usual rate." Akira's expression didn't change, but a hint of irritation danced in her eyes.

"I'm not for sale, Crown Prince," she said, her voice firm.

"And even if I was, I don't think you could afford me." Azriel's smile grew wider, his eyes sparkling with amusement.

"Oh, I think I can afford you, Ms. Akira," he said, his voice confident.

"I think I can afford anything I want."

Azriel's eyes widened in surprise, but a sly grin spread across his face.

"145 million, huh?" he said, his voice low.

"You drive a hard bargain, Ms. Akira. But I think I can manage that." He held out his wrist, a black credit chip embedded in his skin.

"Transfer the funds to my account, and we have a deal."
