Starley finally couldn't continue her words after seeing the change on Raul's face. Raul looked displeased to hear Starley's words. Instantly, the silence between them became tense.
"You must have heard it from Damien," Raul replied. His response didn't sound like a question; it was more like Raul already knew.
"Yes," Starley answered. Raul nodded in understanding, but his jaw looked tense. Then he handed the flash drive back to Starley. Starley accepted it.
"Take a break," Raul said. For some reason, it sounded cold and stiff. Then, without saying anything else, Raul went to his room, leaving Starley in front of the door.
Starley wanted to curse herself for suddenly being foolish and not thinking things through. She should have just kept quiet. Starley closed her eyes and let out a heavy sigh. Now, she felt bad for Raul.
Starley stared at the flash drive in her hand, wondering if she should have taken it. She thought.
