Chapter Forty-Eight Kyle: What Is There to Reason With Women?
It was already evening when we returned to the castle. Kyle followed Dumbledore, carrying his suitcase. As soon as they entered, they heard Professor McGonagall's angry roar from the corridor next to them. "George, Fred!" she yelled. "How dare you! Using dungbombs in the hallways? Attacking Slytherin students?" She paused, exasperated. "Is there also chili powder mixed in with the dungbombs? If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn't believe it! You know, because of you, seven students were sent to the school infirmary, including a Ravenclaw student and two from Hufflepuff!"
"Professor McGonagall, we're studying how young wizards can effectively resist some malicious dark wizards without much magic power!" Fred protested, "This is a noble and great subject." George added, "Fred is right, Professor, the Ministry of Magic should award us the Order of Merlin for our great subject."
"An award? The Order of Merlin?" McGonagall responded. "Listen, I'll write to Mrs. Weasley right now and ask her to come to school and see what her wonderful sons have been up to! Now, you two, come with me. Detention for three months, not a day less!"
Hearing Professor McGonagall's angry voice, Kyle couldn't help but cover his face. The twins learn things fast! But why these two brothers thought they could reason with a woman is beyond him.
"Are all Hogwarts students so childish?" Cassandra asked, astonished. "Dungbombs mixed with chili powder? And they want the Order of Merlin?"
"Of course not!" Kyle replied, straightening his expression. "I don't know what those two brothers are thinking all day long. It's just some silly prank. However, I think most Hogwarts students are like me, honest and kind, and would never play pranks."
"Oh..." Cassandra nodded, though her eyes were filled with suspicion. Dumbledore, too, looked puzzled. He always found the way the twins spoke to be inexplicably familiar, though he had more pressing matters to attend to.
"Okay, Miss Walley, let Kyle take you to the dormitory," Dumbledore said. "I still have some things to do. Kyle will give you the class schedule and other information. By the way, he's the hidden prefect for your first-year Slytherin students!"
"Yes, thank you for your assistance today, Professor Dumbledore!" Cassandra replied, bowing slightly and politely.
"Oh, you don't have to be so formal," Dumbledore smiled. "Kyle, let's continue our study of the Patronus Charm tomorrow afternoon."
"I understand, Professor," Kyle replied.
The three separated, and taking advantage of the time before dinner, Kyle escorted Cassandra to the Slytherin dormitory. "The Slytherin dormitory is underground and, though it might seem damp, we have a view of the Black Lake from the common room," Kyle explained. "And the Hogwarts cafeteria is on the same floor. There are more than a hundred house-elves there, and they are always enthusiastic about young wizards. If you're hungry at night, you can call me, and we'll have supper together!"
Throughout the walk, Kyle kept introducing the college to Cassandra. This was an opportunity not to be missed, and he felt it was necessary to protect this newfound friend. "I see," the proud and aloof Cassandra acknowledged, nodding slightly at Kyle's concern, though she maintained some indifference.
"How's the school atmosphere?"
"Is there still a student level?" To be honest, she was still a little apprehensive. Adults in wizarding families don't tell their children much about the house. They prefer their children to explore independently. So Cassandra didn't know too much about Hogwarts, the place where she would stay for seven years.
"College atmosphere?" Kyle was slightly taken aback. "They seem to be quite united, but the level of the students should be better than the students of the other three colleges."
"After all, most of them come from pure-blood families?"
"What about you? I heard Professor Dumbledore say that you are the hidden prefect of the first year?" Cassandra asked her most curious question, looking at Kyle with a half-smile. She had the feeling that Kyle was completely bewildered right now.
"Of course, as everyone knows, I am the kindest and most upright student at Hogwarts. Originally, I didn't want to be the hidden senior, but everyone unanimously recommended me, and I couldn't refuse."
"In the words of the East, maybe this is convincing people with virtue?"
"It means conquering others by virtue of their moral character," Kyle shrugged. Just as they were talking, the two came to a wall. The portrait of the fat lady at the door of the Gryffindor lounge is different. The door to the Slytherin lounge is a stone wall.
"Pure blood is supreme!" Kyle spoke the password against the stone wall. "You have to remember this password, it will be changed once a week, and the new password will be posted on the bulletin board in the common room one day in advance. But it's okay if you ignore or forget, the kind Kyle is willing to serve a beautiful girl like you at any time!"
"Hmph!" Cassandra snorted softly.
Really! Listening to the system beep, after verification, Kyle finally found the correct way to farm treasure chests on Cassandra. But just to be on the safe side, we still have to try again.
"Of course, it's not free. I need to pay ten galleons for each service. The price is fair, and it's no lie!"
Cassandra: "???"
OK! After verification, when you praise Cassandra, you will get a golden treasure chest! Then when he intentionally angered her, he would only get a silver treasure chest! So comparing the two, the conclusion is that it's better to praise her first, and then make a turning point. This is how you maximize your profits!
