"Where am I?"
Vizet looked around, finding himself in a completely unfamiliar scene. Doubt crept into his mind.
Wasn't he preparing for his final exam sprint review?
How did he end up here?
Rubble and debris littered the ground. The ceiling and walls were torn open, leaving gaping holes.
The fireplace nearby had been blown apart, with ashes still drifting through the air.
This was clearly not his room — it was a ruin.
Suddenly, an inexplicable flood of memories surged into Vizet's mind.
The body he now inhabited had belonged to a test subject of a dark wizard who had been forced to endure countless inhumane black magic experiments.
During this harrowing process, the boy had suffered immense pain and torment, developing a deep fear of magic and, as a result, manifesting a powerful black magic force.
This was the dark wizard's objective: to cultivate a controllable Obscurus. But as the saying goes, those who play with fire will eventually get burned.
The Obscurus erupted without warning.
Not only did it destroy the building, but it also tore the dark wizard to pieces.
As Vizet processed these memories, he came to a startling realization:
He had somehow traveled to another universe!
He was now in the magical world of Harry Potter!
Unfortunately, he had never read the original Harry Potter series. His knowledge was limited to the names of Harry, Ron, Hermione, Voldemort, Dumbledore, and a few scenes from fan-edited videos.
As for the movies, he had only seen one spin-off — Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
This film followed Newt Scamander's adventures in New York. In the end, Newt released the Thunderbird and captured Gellert Grindelwald. Vizet had heard there was a sequel, but he never got the chance to watch it.
That movie introduced the concept of the Obscurus — a powerful but uncontrollable black magic force.
Its depicted form resembled a swirling black mist laden with ashes. Was that what he had become now?
As this thought crossed his mind, Vizet suddenly felt his entire body stir.
A surge of black mist shot out in front of him, destroying a nearby wall and sending clouds of dust into the air.
"So powerful!"
An uncontrollable fury suddenly erupted within him, accompanied by a sinister urge to destroy everything in sight.
This was the curse of being an Obscurial.
An Obscurial — a host to an Obscurus — is often dominated by the entity, losing control of their body and succumbing to an overwhelming desire for destruction.
Obscurials typically have extremely short lifespans. Apart from Credence, featured in the film, no known Obscurial had ever lived past the age of ten.
The boy whose body Vizet now inhabited had been subjected to numerous black magic experiments. His magical resilience had long surpassed that of ordinary wizards.
Thanks to the dark wizard's deliberate interventions, the boy survived until the age of eleven. But Vizet could sense that the recent outburst had significantly weakened him.
The Obscurus was steadily eroding his mind.
If his consciousness were to be entirely consumed, Vizet feared he might become the quickest transmigrator to meet his demise.
While sifting through the boy's memories, Vizet stumbled upon a crucial detail.
The dark wizard's notebook!
All the knowledge about the Obscurus came from that book.
Vizet realized he needed to find that notebook. Only by studying its contents could he hope to control the Obscurus and save his life.
------------------------------
In his Obscurus form, Vizet floated in the air, and the swirling dust obscured his view of the scattered debris on the ground.
As he carefully searched for the notebook, a sharp "crackling" sound echoed through the air, accompanied by vortices appearing out of nowhere.
Someone was appariting!
Reacting instinctively to the magic, the Obscurus released an explosive pulse of power in all directions.
Vizet had anticipated the arrival of wizards, but he hadn't expected them to come so quickly!
Edward Murphy's famous law echoed in his mind: Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.
For wizards, an Obscurus is as deadly as a flood is to a Muggle.
Four wizards materialized in front of Vizet, and the situation quickly spiraled toward disaster.
Without any attempt to assess his state, the wizards immediately raised their wands, adopting offensive stances.
"It's the Obscurus! Send someone to the Auror Office! This isn't something we can handle!" one of them shouted.
A vortex reappeared as one wizard disapparated, presumably to alert the Aurors.
The tension among the remaining three was palpable. Beads of sweat formed on their foreheads as they exchanged uneasy glances.
"Restrain it!"
Chanting in unison, the three cast layered spells, forming a network of magical energy fields to encase Vizet.
"Merlin's beard! How many years has it been since an Obscurus last appeared?"
"Are we just going to stand here? Shouldn't we do something more?"
"Don't act rashly! Just keep it contained. Wait for the Aurors. We'll attack together when we have enough backup to avoid complications!"
The situation continued to deteriorate.
The intentions of the wizards were clear. They planned to trap Vizet and eliminate him once reinforcements arrived.
Desperate, Vizet tried to communicate, but the only sound he could produce was a haunting, wind-like whistle.
If he unleashed the Obscurus's power to escape, the notebook would likely be obliterated in the resulting energy surge. Worse, the Obscurus's mental erosion would accelerate.
There was only one path forward — He had to find the notebook as quickly as possible. Only by returning to his human form could he prove that he wasn't a threat.
------------------------------
After an intense search, Vizet's efforts finally paid off. A simple notebook with a cowhide cover came into view.
What struck him as most peculiar was the silver-blue cyclone floating above the notebook, spiraling upward like an ethereal vortex.
As if sensing his gaze, the cyclone suddenly flew straight toward him.
The notebook disintegrated into dust the moment the cyclone departed from it.
Before Vizet could react, the cyclone rushed into his mind.
A Wizard's Practical Guide
The title of the now-vanished notebook appeared vividly in his mind as its pages began to unfold.
A torrent of knowledge poured into his consciousness, forming clear, coherent words:
Guardian Meditation Method
Enhance magic affinity... Gather uncontrollable negative emotions... Collect, store, and seal emotions... Transform them into ancient magic power...
In an instant, Vizet had mastered the meditation method. Without hesitation, he began to meditate.
Entering a meditative state, the world around him sharpened in clarity.
He could now sense the Obscurus fully, perceiving its extraordinary, destructive power.
His mind became a vast vortex, absorbing, purifying, and transforming the Obscurus's chaotic energy into something calmer and more controlled.
Everything seemed to be improving.
But as Edward Murphy's law warned: If something can go wrong, no matter how small the chance, it inevitably will.
Suddenly, dense "crackling" sounds filled the air as wizards apparated one after another, surrounding Vizet.
"It's really an Obscurus!" one exclaimed.
"The Statute of Secrecy has been in place for centuries. Why is an Obscurus still appearing?"
"Does it matter? Our priority is to eliminate the Obscurus and prevent further harm. Let's act now!"
The wizards raised their wands, magical energy gathering at the tips in glowing orbs. The atmosphere churned with power, stirring up dust and debris once more.
The attack was imminent. For Vizet, this moment was nothing short of catastrophic.
Just as the tension reached its peak, flames appeared out of thin air, and an old man stepped out from within them.
The man wore a regal purple robe adorned with gold embroidery. His silver hair and beard flowed magnificently, long enough to tuck into his belt. Behind his half-moon spectacles, his piercing blue eyes gleamed with authority.
The gathered wizards froze in astonishment.
"Headmaster Dumbledore? Why are you here?"
