Chapter 2 - Dumbledore's Care

Seeing Vizet imprisoned within the magical energy field, Dumbledore raised an eyebrow in slight surprise before gently waving his wand.

A more formidable energy field materialized, completely enveloping Vizet's position.

In his meditative state, Vizet could sense that the magic power within this new barrier was far greater than what had been used earlier.

"Have I arrived at a bad time?" Dumbledore remarked, surveying the chaos around him—the debris, dust, and destruction scattered across the area.

"The name and address of a new student appeared in the Book of Admittance," he continued. "Minerva asked me to come and confirm it."

"The name and address of a new student..." A tall, bald, black wizard stepped forward. "Headmaster Dumbledore, are you here to find the prospective student for this year?"

"Yes," Dumbledore replied with a gentle nod. "If the Book of Admittance is correct, then the child before you is Hogwarts' newest student."

In Vizet's mind, Dumbledore had arrived at precisely the right moment.

Not only was the delay allowing him to continue absorbing the Obscurus through meditation, but the wizard also brought promising news: Vizet could attend Hogwarts.

In Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the question had been posed: Which is the best magic school in the world?

The protagonist, Newt Scamander, gave his answer — Hogwarts, the very school Dumbledore mentioned.

Newt's brilliance and abilities in the movie served as a strong testament to that claim.

As a student in this magical world, Vizet naturally wanted to learn at the best school available.

Though he couldn't speak in his current state, he just needed Dumbledore to buy him a little more time. With the meditation technique, he could absorb the Obscurus fully and return to normal.

Vizet's thoughts churned as he observed the scene. While he couldn't voice his concerns, an overwhelming sense of fear mixed with hope gripped him.

The Obscurus had brought him nothing but suffering, yet the possibility of control — of learning — sparked a flicker of determination. The idea of entering a place like Hogwarts, a haven for magical learning, felt almost too good to be true. He clung to that hope, even as the weight of his current state bore down on him.

The black wizard, now identified as Kingsley, hesitated. "Headmaster Dumbledore, if this boy is a new student, that means he's over ten years old..."

"It's almost unheard of for an Obscurial to live past the age of ten," Kingsley added, concern evident in his voice. "Perhaps there's been a mistake? This Obscurus certainly looks like it's out of control."

Dumbledore's piercing gaze swept over the gathered wizards, understanding their hesitation.

"Kingsley," he said calmly, "I understand your concerns. But exceptions do exist, don't they? Among the Obscurials I've encountered, more than one has survived past ten years."

He continued, "Why not grant me and this child a few more minutes? If he does lose control, I will personally bear the consequences... and I'll answer to Cornelius as well."

Faced with such an offer, Kingsley had no reason to refuse. "Very well. We'll repair the damage here in the meantime and erase the memories of any nearby Muggles. But ten minutes is all we can spare."

Dumbledore smiled warmly. "Thank you for your cooperation."

Kingsley led the other wizards to begin their cleanup. With their combined efforts, the ruined house started to reverse its destruction. Rubble floated back into place, the walls reassembled, the fireplace was restored, and the ceiling patched itself seamlessly.

Dumbledore turned back toward Vizet, his eyes twinkling with intrigue as he observed the magical energy field.

"Fascinating... He's gathering the power of the Obscurus," he mused softly.

"For an eleven-year-old child to achieve such a feat... remarkable. The Book of Admittance's choice no longer seems so strange."

------------------------------

Vizet paid no attention to Dumbledore's words; his entire focus was on the Obscurus within him.

The Obscurus's power had finally been absorbed, condensing into a black and red core that settled in his chest.

Silver-blue chains bound the core, which pulsed rhythmically like a heartbeat.

Vizet could now sense his body again. Without hesitation, he stretched out his hands, grasping the core.

At that moment, the core of the Obscurus reintegrated into his body.

Dumbledore immediately noticed the shift. The black mist inside the magical energy field dissipated, and the thin boy fell from the air.

The boy had dull black hair, and his deep, dark eyes showed a hint of relief and exhaustion.

With a wave of Dumbledore's wand, the magical energy field vanished instantly.

A phoenix the size of a swan suddenly appeared, catching Vizet gently in midair.

Vizet felt the soft warmth of the phoenix beneath him, a smile forming on his lips. "I did it!" he whispered triumphantly.

Blinking, he realized the ruined building around him had been fully restored. "Is this magic? It's... incredible!"

"Well done, young man!" A kind voice drew his attention, and Vizet saw Dumbledore's wise and warm expression. "You've achieved something truly remarkable. Few children could resist and reclaim themselves from such a perilous force."

Vizet instinctively asked, "Are you... Albus Dumbledore?"

"You know me?" Dumbledore asked, his surprise evident. "If you're aware of magic, why do you seem so fearful of it?"

Vizet tilted his head, feigning thought, before replying, "That weirdo who experimented on me... he used to curse your name sometimes."

"Experimented on you?" Dumbledore's eyes darkened momentarily with anger. "You've endured much suffering. No wonder you're wary of magic — it's not your fault."

Dumbledore knelt slightly to meet Vizet's gaze. "But listen closely, my boy. You are an Obscurus. Today's events might happen again unless you learn to control this power."

"How do I do that?" Vizet asked earnestly.

"You must attend Hogwarts and learn magic," Dumbledore replied, his voice tinged with both determination and compassion.

For a brief moment, a shadow passed over Dumbledore's expression. A flood of memories overwhelmed him — Ariana, his sister, and the tragedies that unfolded because of her Obscurus.

He straightened, his tone resolute. "We cannot let innocent lives suffer such persecution again. Mistakes like this must not continue. You must come to Hogwarts."

Exhaustion overwhelmed Vizet after all he'd been through. His eyelids grew heavier, and he managed only a faint nod before succumbing to sleep.

Dumbledore softened his tone. "Rest now, child. There will be no more danger tonight."

As Vizet fell into peaceful slumber, Dumbledore noted the numerous scars and wounds covering the boy's frail body.

"Poor boy," he murmured, carefully picking him up. "You've endured far too much."

Fawkes, Dumbledore's phoenix, hovered before them, observing Vizet's injuries. Tears welled in the phoenix's eyes, falling like glowing pearls onto Vizet's wounds.

A miraculous transformation began. The injuries healed instantly, leaving no trace behind. Vizet's complexion turned healthy and rosy, and a serene smile played on his lips.

Kingsley returned with his group of wizards, his voice filled with astonishment. "Headmaster Dumbledore, has the boy truly recovered?"

Dumbledore smiled warmly. "Yes. He is a remarkable, resilient child. But he must still go to St. Mungo's for further care. I'll speak with Cornelius about his case."
