Chapter 52 - A Love That Shouldn’t Be (part 8)

Felix had always been cold.

Distant.

Unreachable.

But lately, something had shifted.

Lisa felt it.

The way his eyes lingered on her longer than necessary. The way he seemed lost in thought when she was around.

And now— he was staring again.

She pretended not to notice, focusing on the book in her hands.

But her heart pounded.

"Why does he keep looking at me like that?"

It had been days since Grace's wedding.

Since Felix walked out.

Since Lisa ran after him.

And though he never spoke of it, something about Felix changed after that day.

He was quieter.

Colder.

And yet, around Lisa, his silence wasn't the same.

It was heavier.

More suffocating.

Lisa closed her book and sighed. "If you have something to say, just say it."

Felix blinked. "Who said I wanted to say anything?"

Lisa frowned. "Then stop staring at me."

Felix smirked slightly but didn't reply.

Lisa crossed her arms. "Seriously, Felix. What's your problem?"

Felix leaned back in his chair, his usual indifference slipping for just a second.

"You are."

Lisa's breath hitched.

But before she could respond, he stood up and walked away.

Leaving her with a racing heart and unanswered questions.

Lisa knew she was falling.

Hard.

But she also knew Felix.

He wasn't the type to admit anything.

Not his feelings.

Not his fears.

Not even to himself.

She hated the way he made her feel.

Because it was pointless.

Felix was cold, distant, and impossible to reach.

And yet—

She still wanted him.

But did he want her?

Or was she just imagining it all?

One evening, as Lisa was leaving the house, Felix appeared at the doorway.

Blocking her path.

Lisa raised an eyebrow. "Move."

Felix didn't.

"Where are you going?" he asked.

Lisa scoffed. "Since when do you care?"

Felix stared at her for a long moment.

Then, in a voice barely above a whisper, he said, "Since always."

Lisa's heart stopped.

But before she could say anything, Felix turned and walked away.

Again.

And Lisa realized—

Felix might feel something.

But his pride and cold nature would never let him admit it.

And that hurt more than anything else.
