After visiting the souvenir shop, Jina's mood couldn't help but be fluttering. She realized that she may have misunderstood many people around her, including Jun Seo. That cold, quiet friend turned out to have a profound world of his own, and she began to feel something connected between them.
In the afternoon, Jina's class organized a hiking session around a village. They will climb a trail that leads to a famous cliff with stunning views. Although Jina is not inherently an adventurous person, she still decided to participate because she felt like she wanted to learn about the world around her, and partly also to be closer to Jun Seo.
The student group divided into small groups, everyone chatted happily, but Jun Seo still kept his distance from everyone. He walked alone, his eyes still coldly looking ahead. Jina went with a few other friends, but didn't take her eyes off Jun Seo.
When the group approached the cliff, no one expected danger to come. A group of friends in class were joking around and accidentally lost their balance, causing one of them to almost fall off a cliff. In a short second, Jina didn't have time to think, she rushed forward to block her friend who was losing balance.
In that moment, everything seemed to be turned upside down. Jina felt her body lose its stability, she fell over the railing, and everything around her went dark. The feeling of free fall made her heart pound, then a loud noise rang out as she fell to a lower cliff. Her whole body seemed to be hit hard against the rocks under her feet, but before she could feel the pain, a crisp scream rang out.
"Hey!" Jun Seo, with a panicked look on his face, rushed towards her immediately. But by the time he saw it, Jina had fallen down a dangerous cliff, with almost nothing to hold on to.
In a short second, Jun Seo could no longer maintain his cold appearance. He rushed towards the cliff without thinking about the consequences. Run quickly and hug jina, use your body to fall down and both fall down another section of rock.
Both of them fell, but because Jun Seo was able to catch Jina while falling, he was the one who bore the most weight. When the two stopped, Jun Seo was injured in the shoulder and knee, blood oozing from the wounds. As for Jina, although a bit stunned and in pain, luckily she only suffered minor scratches.
Jina looked at Jun Seo, a feeling of worry filled her heart. "Jun Seo! Are you okay?.." Her voice trembled slightly.
Jun Seo, although his face was filled with pain and a bit of shock, still maintained his usual cold attitude. "It's okay," he said shortly, "Are you okay?"
Jina quickly nodded, but then she saw the wounds on Jun Seo's body. She couldn't help but feel heartbroken. "You're injured... Let me help you."
She said, holding back her tears, whispering, "This idiot..."
"Hey, I heard that"
"You...you still have the strength to speak...
"Okay, it's just a skin wound."
"Hey, don't let me..."
He stood up, trying to hide his injuries, but clearly couldn't walk easily. He looked around, trying to find a way out.
"Don't worry, I'm okay." Jun Seo's voice was still cold as usual, but Jina could feel the fatigue in it.
Unable to let him go alone, Jina came closer and helped him every step of the way. She reached out and helped Jun Seo, even though she couldn't stop worrying about him. "Just let me help. If you're okay, we'll quickly get to a safe place."
The two walked slowly over the sharp rocks, and gradually, they found a small path leading to safety on shore. When they finally climbed up, Jina breathed a sigh of relief. Although Jun Seo did not want to receive help, he could not refuse the kindness and care that Jina gave him.
When she got back to her group, Jina quickly called the teachers and reported on Jun Seo's condition. Everyone took him to the hospital to have his injuries checked. Even though he was still in pain, Jun Seo didn't show it."Thank you," Jina said softly, her voice shaking a little, "For saving me."
Jun Seo didn't answer right away, just looked at her for a moment and then silently nodded. "No need to thank," he said, but in his eyes, Jina saw something different – perhaps appreciation.
...
"You, if you want to thank me, don't take such risks next time. If I wasn't there at that time, and everyone was watching, what do you think the consequences would be?"
"..Sorry, I'll be more careful next time."
"Best not next time"
The two sat silently, Jina groaned softly in her heart, she felt like they had crossed a new threshold in their relationship. The connection between the two, from a simple curiosity, has now become deeper.
