In the testing grounds of the Superpower Academy.
After explaining their purpose at the administration office, Sato Yamiru and Tonpo were led to this place. The next step was to confirm whether either of them possessed any extraordinary abilities.

"These are the laboratories for testing," said the panda-faced principal, leading a group of teachers through the corridor. "Equipped with multiple sets of devices, these can test more than thirty different types of superpower characteristics..."
The principal, accompanied by several teachers, followed a middle-aged man with purple, short hair. The man was of average height, wearing black-framed glasses and holding a cigarette. He was dressed in a typical researcher's white lab coat, with a pure black kitten perched on his shoulder, curiously looking around. The panda-faced principal was clearly nervous as he walked beside the world's wealthiest man, Dr. Brief, constantly dabbing his forehead with a handkerchief to absorb the sweat building under his thick fur.
The principal was enthusiastically explaining the school's situation, trying to embellish it as much as possible in order to secure additional financial support from the Capsule Corporation.
Dr. Brief nodded indifferently, exhaling a cloud of smoke.
At that moment, two children walked out from a room ahead. One had black hair and golden eyes, the other was wearing a hat and mask. They were talking to each other, with the masked one looking puzzled, while the black-haired boy simply smiled. As they approached Dr. Brief and the others, the man with the glasses thought to himself, "Two students, huh?" He inadvertently made eye contact with the golden-eyed boy. "
'Oh? This kid... does he recognize me?'
Although Dr. Brief had built Capsule Corporation from the ground up, and his company was now massive, he hadn't been in the public eye for years. He had become more focused on his personal scientific research. Only young people from West City would be able to recognize him on sight. During this trip, which was officially a business inspection but actually more of a family vacation, he hadn't come across many who could recognize him. Speaking of which, 'where did Bulma run off to? Where is she?'
Tonpo tugged at Yamiru's sleeve, and they quickly moved aside to let Dr. Brief's group pass, leaving the building in a hurry.
'That's Bulma's father, right?! It has to be him!' Yamiru thought, his mind still reeling. He had been stunned when he ran into Dr. Brief in the hallway, and now the shockwaves were still reverberating.
"Hey, what are you thinking about?" Tonpo asked in confusion. "Just now, you wouldn't let them take a blood test. Why?"
"I just wanted to see if I have any superpowers, not to be a guinea pig for them," Yamiru casually replied. "Stuff like blood samples—such private things—can't just be handed over like that, right?"
In fact, the real reason was that Yamiru felt sensitive about giving blood since he had crossed over into this world. He couldn't easily agree to something like that.
"Refused the blood test... and then when they were testing your eyes, you deliberately hid the fact that you can see through transformation abilities," Tonpo recalled, remembering how Yamiru had thrown the testing equipment around and been led to various tests measuring his vision range, dynamic vision, and so on. The researchers repeatedly asked him about any unusual subjective experiences. Tonpo couldn't help but be speechless. "So, you wanted the free tests but didn't want to give them any real information. You're quite the schemer."
"Since I already know I can see through transformations, why bother with them testing it? No need to test, so why should I tell them?" Yamiru said nonchalantly as he walked with Tonpo toward the school gates, his mind also pondering why he had run into Dr. Brief earlier. 'Superpowers, magic... Capsule Corporation... This school must be a special research institute set up to study superpowers, the magic-ification of superpowers, or their application, right?'
Yamiru paused and looked around at the scenery of the superpower academy. Students, both animal-people and humans, walked by in groups, chatting, strolling, or gathering at the sports fields. It all looked no different from the campus scenes back on Earth. He speculated that many of the magical technologies on Dragon Ball's Earth might have roots in superpowers. For example, that anti-gravity floating car he had yet to see, despite searching all of South City after making his first money—he hadn't seen a single one, which left him thoroughly disappointed.
Thinking about floating cars reminded him of superpowers and the possibility of gravity-defying abilities, which led him to think of martial artists Flight techniques, and Piccolo's self-proclaimed superior flight technique, more advanced than the common Bokujutsu(Shen Flight technique)... Yamiru smiled, his golden eyes sparkling as he gazed up at the clear blue sky. When will I be able to fly among the white clouds? He mused, It should happen someday.
It was at that moment that, after realizing his golden eyes could see through transformation disguises, a certain string in his heart was touched.
'Turns out, I'am different.'
Yamiru couldn't help but reminisce about the feeling—this feeling of thinking he was special. The last time he felt this way was probably when he was in middle school. Maybe it was in second year? Because after the high school entrance exam, especially after entering a prestigious high school, he started to see those... either effortlessly getting top ranks or casually asking teachers for extra tutoring. Back then, Yamiru would look around and realize that he was no different from the ordinary students in his class. 'Ah, turns out I'm just this ordinary.' Yamiru had learned to accept his mediocrity.
Even though he had crossed over to the Dragon Ball world and gained strength beyond ordinary humans, Yamiru still couldn't convince himself that he was truly different. It was true that he was beyond ordinary, but that "ordinary" referred to "ordinary Earthlings"—the concept of Earthlings limits was deeply ingrained in his mind. Yamiru had hoped to be reborn as a Saiyan, simply because he knew the endless potential of the Saiyan race. Even if his battle power started at 1, he wouldn't be discouraged. Just the word "Saiyan" alone would be enough to make Yamiru believe that he was already different from his past self. Unfortunately, he was still an Earthling. Worse, he still had his old body; he was still the old Yamiru.
If it weren't for... that strange old man who suddenly appeared, sparking a feeling of unwillingness within me that I didn't even know I had... Yamiru took out the two coins from his pocket that he had never discarded or used. If it weren't for that old man in the park, Yamiru might never have ignited that instinctual feeling of not wanting to give up, of not wanting to lose, even after his efforts fell short.
That sudden spark of unwillingness was like a spark thrown into the stagnant waters of Yamiru's heart, lighting up his eyes and igniting a fire within him.
Yamiru knew that even though these golden eyes were a gift of his own, without that mysterious old man, he might never have had the chance to reveal them in his lifetime.
"Hey... hey! What are you thinking about?" Tonpo sensed something was off, feeling a strange shift in Yamiru's aura.
"Pfft!" Yamiru snorted like an ox, his golden eyes shining brightly, which sent a chill down Tonpo's spine. Yamiru grabbed Tonpo's shoulders tightly and nodded firmly, muttering an affirmative sound.
'What the heck does "mm" even mean?' Tonpo's shoulders were hurting from the grip.
Yamiru's mind was set: 'I have sharigan like pupils, I'm so awesome! And i'll get even stronger and awesome after training martial arts!"
Boom!
The sky above suddenly turned pitch black.
