"What are you doing?!" Tonpo almost had his nose in the dirt as he rubbed his behind, clearly irritated.
"I should be the one asking you that," Sato Yamiru said, grabbing the back of Tonpo's collar and lifting him up. "Can you stop wasting time? Take me to the teacher in charge of admissions."
Tonpo grumbled, "You're not even planning on entering, why the rush?"
Yamiru raised an eyebrow, "I'm not planning on entering, but how do you know that?"
Tonpo pouted, "I guessed. You don't seem like the type who cares much about how you live."
Yamiru fell silent for a moment, pondering Tonpo's words, when suddenly, a cold laugh sounded nearby, "Well, well, if it isn't Pighead Ton. What's the matter? Still daring to harass Elizabeth?"
"Yikes!" Tonpo froze at the sound of the voice, turning around to find a tall, muscular boy standing on the opposite side of the sports field fence. The boy's muscles were so huge that they seemed about to tear through his short sleeves and shorts. He pointed at Tonpo and sneered, "Stop trembling, don't tell me you peed your pants? Hahaha!"
"Who the hell do you think you are?" Yamiru glanced at the muscular boy. He was just a regular human, but since he was at this school, he probably had some superpower. Wonder what kind?
"We should leave…" Tonpo pulled his hat down, looking uncomfortable, and quickly turned to walk away.
Yamiru followed him.
"Not running away, are we? Weren't you spying on Elizabeth? Look, she's coming over!" The muscular boy continued to laugh, mocking them from the other side of the fence.
Yamiru turned to look, and sure enough, Elizabeth, the center of attention earlier in the field, was now walking towards them.
Tonpo kept his head lowered, walking faster.
"What's going on?" Elizabeth, the girl named Elizabeth, approached and casually asked the muscular boy. She also noticed the two figures walking away quickly by the fence.
The muscular boy grinned and pointed at the dejected Tonpo, relaying what happened to Elizabeth and the others gathered around her. Yamiru took a closer look at Elizabeth, still puzzled. Was it him, or was there really such a huge gap in aesthetic sense? Elizabeth... round face, flat nose, what was so beautiful about her? At best, her skin was a bit fairer.
Just then, Elizabeth's eyes locked onto Yamiru, who was looking at her from behind Tonpo. She felt a chill run down her spine as she stared into his golden eyes.
Her heart skipped a beat, and her pulse quickened.
Could this boy's eyes have some kind of superpower? No, she thought, she hadn't seen him around the school before…
"Hmm? Why are you so flustered..." Yamiru had only glanced at Elizabeth a couple of times, but when he noticed her odd behavior, he couldn't help but take another look.
"Since there's nothing going on, we should leave," Elizabeth lowered her head, avoiding Yamiru's gaze.
She quickly muttered something to the classmates around her and then led the way, jogging off.
"What are you staring at? I'll dig your eyeballs out!" The muscular boy growled menacingly at Yamiru, who stood on the other side of the fence. "You're not from our school, are you? Sneaking in with this pig, probably just some troublemaker. I'm warning you, you better get out of here fast, or else..."
Did I do something to you? Yamiru felt completely bewildered and, even more so, thought these people from the school, just like Tonpo, had some serious issues with their taste.
As they passed a small gate near the sports field, Yamiru suddenly turned and pushed it open, walking right in.
"Hey!" Tonpo tried to stop him but missed.
"So, what are you gonna do if i don't leave? Big guy," Yamiru walked slowly toward the muscular boy, who was easily three heads taller than him. This was really starting to irritate him.
"Otherwise, I'll beat you up!" The muscular boy, Johnny, was furious. "You little dwarf!"
After saying that, Johnny reached out with both hands, aiming to grab Yamiru's shoulders and humiliate him properly.
But Yamiru quickly ducked down, tripping Johnny's ankle with a sharp sweep.
Johnny lost his balance and tumbled toward Yamiru, who used his shoulder to catch the fall. With a yell, he executed a picture-perfect shoulder throw, slamming Johnny hard onto the concrete ground with a loud thud.
"Hm?" On the other side of the field, a leopard-headed student, who had been playing on the parallel bars, caught a glimpse of the action. He couldn't help but laugh, "What a disgrace! Haha, that looks like Johnny, that guy... uh..." His smile quickly faded as he remembered how he, not long ago, had been beaten by some small fry and ended up with a sore butt. He looked back, staring at the small guy who had thrown Johnny, and thought the figure looked strangely familiar. It was almost exactly like the one who had pummeled him the day before...
"Damn it! You little..." Johnny, red with shame and rage, stood up, his face nearly turning purple.
Yamiru thought, this guy's got a pretty stable base. He silently gave Johnny some credit; if that shoulder throw hadn't succeeded, he would've been totally embarrassed. Fortunately, he was a seasoned fighter with enough skill to overpower almost any regular person on Earth.
Johnny, now furious and stumbling to his feet, was definitely no slouch, though Yamiru estimated he would rank as a "weak" fighter—probably around a level 7.6. But then, something caught his attention.
"Huh?" A stone on the ground suddenly flew up into the air.
Thwack! A stone shot at Yamiru, hitting him square in the face.
A sharp sting surged through his nose, causing tears to well up. He quickly covered his nose and jumped to the side, narrowly dodging another flying stone.
"Despicable!" Yamiru yelled out.
In truth, he didn't think it was particularly despicable; it was just part of the game. Complaining about an opponent's dirty tactics would only make him look petty. But, recalling the times in manga when Goku would shout like this after being hit by a sneaky attack, Yamiru decided to try it out too—like a little cosplay.
Telekinesis or some kind of psychic power? Yamiru quickly analyzed the situation in his mind.
This kind of ability seemed fairly common. Piccolo and Frieza could both use telekinesis, and even Captain Ginyu had once used it to manipulate the Namekian Dragon Balls...
At that moment, Johnny sneered from across the field, "Naive!" With a flick of his hands, several stones rose into the air and hurled themselves at Yamiru.
"You're the naive one. Your speed is too slow to hit me…" Yamiru sniffed, his nose still red from the impact, and carefully observed the trajectory of the stones. This was just like dodging dodgeballs, right? He swiftly dodged the fastest stone, but the next second, he heard a loud "clank" as another stone hit him on the head.
"Dammit!" Yamiru gritted his teeth and glared. He realized that the stone that had hit him had been guided to curve around and hit him just as he was dodging.
"Ha! Told you you were too nai—" Johnny laughed, controlling the stones in the air.
'Stop laughing, idiot!' Yamiru reacted quickly, grabbing the stone that had just hit him in the head and tossing it back at Johnny with a swing of his arm. "Dumbass! With all that momentum, let's see you control it!"
Johnny hurriedly focused his telekinesis to slow down the stone Yamiru had thrown, while the rest of the stones that had been flying toward Yamiru fell to the ground.
Yamiru picked up the fallen stones and held them in his arms. He stuck his tongue out at the corner of his mouth, positioning himself like he was about to play baseball. He lifted one leg, squinted one eye, and focused on the decelerating stone, muttering to himself, "So, what will you do if I throw another one..."
Secret technique: Double Star shock! Go!
Whoosh—The stone flew through the air, hitting the decelerating one. The momentum transfer sent the speed of the later stone to the earlier one, and it eventually landed squarely on Johnny's face.
"Like throwing stones, huh? Like throwing stones, huh?" Yamiru continued tossing stones, and when Johnny, flustered and helpless, covered his head and squatted down, Yamiru quickly stepped over, pried open his fingers, grabbed his arm, and with a shout, threw him into another solid shoulder throw.
That was satisfying! Yamiru thought to himself.
Seems like after crossing over, I really enjoy shoulder throws during fights... Is it because I've become smaller, and it messes with my sense of balance?
Yamiru clapped his hands, and noticing some people starting to approach, quickly dragged a pig-headed person who had been hiding in the corner watching the show. In the blink of an eye, he was far away.
"I can walk myself!" Tonpo grumbled as she was dragged along.
"Now you can move? Where were you when I was getting beaten earlier?" Yamiru ran quite a distance and threw the pig-headed student down. "You can transform, right? Turn into a monster and crush him."
'If I could do that, the first person I'd crush is you!' Tonpo thought angrily, but she said, "I can't do it! My transformation magic isn't like superpowers. Even if I transform into a bigger size, my overall mass doesn't change much. Even if I get bigger, my weight stays the same, so how could I crush such a big guy?"
"Any other transformation-based superpowers?" Yamiru asked.
He had already anticipated the flaw in Tonpo's transformation magic; after all, wasn't it in the manga where Oolong turned into a mechanical giant but still got knocked out with a single punch from Goku?
"Of course! Otherwise, where would transformation magic come from?" Tonpo adjusted her hat. "Most magic is actually derived from superpowers, because you can't learn superpowers, but magic can be studied... By the way, this building is the administration building. If you want to apply to the school and test for superpowers, just go in."
Yamiru nodded, then suddenly stopped before entering and asked, "Are there any people with transformation-based superpowers in the school right now?"
"Yeah." The pig-headed student replied in a strange tone. "You just met one."
Yamiru laughed. "I figured. It's that Elizabeth, right? She's not actually pretty, just using transformation powers to disguise herself."
Tonpo was surprised that Yamiru had figured it out.
"You know she's not really pretty, yet you still drooled over her?" Yamiru asked.
"Even if it's a transformed beauty, it's still beautiful. I'm not blind!" Tonpo pouted. "Besides, Elizabeth's real face isn't that bad either. I like it just fine."
"Then, which do you prefer? The real face or the fake one?" Yamiru asked with a smile.
"Of course the real face," Tonpo said with conviction. "The other day, I followed her and found out her true face, and I told her, hoping that one day she'll take off the disguise and reveal herself. When that happens, I'll pursue her." Seeing Yamiru give her a look as if she had some redeeming qualities, the pig-headed student couldn't help but shrink his neck, muttering, "Of course, once I win her over, I might sometimes ask her to change her face for a bit in private..."
"Well, good luck winning her over," Yamiru smiled, showing his white teeth, then dragged the pig-headed student into the administration building. With one hand pressing against his eye, his fingers parted just enough to reveal golden pupils. He thought to himself, 'To see through disguises... Oh my, could it be that I'm developing a new type of sharingan? Should i call it Golden Sharingan?'
