Chapter 29 - " A Smile Too Bright "

(In the evening, around 9 to 10 pm, still at the arcade )

( Inside the arcade):;

...The air was thick with the smell of sweat, sugary snacks, and the faint tang of electronic equipment.

Siri stood calmly, her eyes fixed on Pat, who was visibly agitated. "So, do you still want to make a scene? It's not too late to walk out now, P," Siri said, her voice devoid of emotion, while staring at the little boy indifferently.

Pat's face reddened with anger as she glared at Siri. "Don't stare at him like that ever again!" she yelled, her voice echoing through the arcade.

Siri's gaze lingered on the nervous little boy for a moment before she turned to Pat. "I don't think you should worry about my cold eyes," Siri said sarcastically, her eyes flicking to the group of people watching them with a mixture of curiosity and disgust.

Pat's eyes followed Siri's gaze, and she felt a surge of protectiveness toward her little brother. She turned back to Siri, her face set in a scowl. "Instead, you should worry about how many disgusted eyes are gazing at your beloved little brother," Siri continued, her tone dripping with sarcasm.

The tension between Siri and Pat was palpable. Pat's face was red with anger, and Siri's expression was calm and collected. The onlookers seemed to sense that the confrontation was about to escalate, and they watched with bated breath.

Just as it seemed like Pat was about to lunge at Siri, she seemed to think better of it. "I'm not dumb enough to pick a fight with a mannerless little girl like you," Pat spat, her voice venomous.

Siri's expression didn't change, but a small smirk played on her lips. "Oh, really, P Pat?" she said, her tone heavy with sarcasm.

Pat's face turned an even deeper shade of red as she glared at Siri. "You're so immature!" she says, before turning to leave with her little brother.

As Pat and her brother walked away, Siri watched them go with a calm, collected expression. She turned to the onlookers, who were still watching the scene with interest. "The show's over," she said, her voice polite but dismissive. "You can all go back to your games now."

The onlookers slowly dispersed, murmuring to each other as they returned to their arcade games. Siri watched them go, her eyes narrowing slightly.

As the crowd cleared, Siri noticed a young lady standing in the corner of the arcade, watching her calmly.

The girl's striking features commanded attention. Her short, spiky black hair framed a sharp jawline and piercing brown eyes that seemed to gleam with a hint of mischief. Her nose was slightly upturned, giving her an perpetually bold look.

She wore a plain white Marshall's t-shirt and baggy black jeans, giving off a relaxed, laid-back vibe that complemented her sharp features perfectly. Her scuffed-up Converse sneakers added to her tomboyish charm, making her look like an average girl who didn't fuss over designer labels. Her eyes sparkled with a confident intensity, giving off an aura of fearlessness. Her sharp features and bold gaze made her look like a force to be reckoned with, a true tomboy badass, something that made Siri's skin crawl.

There was something unnerving about the girl's gaze, a intensity that made Siri's instincts twitch. She felt a sudden urge to look away, to sever the connection that seemed to be forming between them."

Before Siri could react further, her phone buzzed with an incoming message. She glanced down to see a text from Nun. "Hey, where r u? Nat's already here."

Siri's eyes flicked back to the mysterious girl, who was still watching her calmly. Suddenly, the girl's face lit up with a radiant smile, her lips curving upward in a dazzling arc.

Her eyes sparkled with warmth, and her entire face seemed to glow with an inner light. But despite the undeniable beauty of her smile, Siri felt a growing sense of unease. There was something unsettling about the way the girl's smile seemed to spread across her face, something that made Siri's skin prickle with discomfort.

The girl's smile was too bright, too cheerful, and it seemed to be directed squarely at Siri, who shifted uncomfortably under its beam.

Siri turned abruptly, her eyes breaking away from the girl's unsettling smile. To Siri, the girl's friendly demeanor felt suffocating, her smile a blatant invasion of Siri's personal space.

She walked away quickly, the sound of her footsteps echoing through the arcade as she desperately sought to escape the girl's unnervingly intense gaze
