The Confession
It was a normal evening, The moon hung high up the night sky, spreading a silver glow over the pack's territory. The usual sound of activities had died, leaving only the distant rustling of the leaves and the occasional howl from wolves patrolling the borders.
Maya stood at the edge of the training ground, letting the cool night air wash over her. The past few days had been a mixture of physical and emotional turmoil for her, it all left her feeling worn. But tonight, something else pressed at the edges of her thoughts, something more demanding.
She overheard Footsteps approaching her from behind, light but deliberate.
She didn't have to turn around to know who it was because she already knew who it was.
"Having trouble sleeping?" Caleb's voice was quiet.
Maya gave a deep breath, glancing over her shoulder.
He stoped few feet away, hands in his pockets, with an unreadable expression.
