Chapter 15 - A New Arrival

After stepping into their world, Kai's gaze was immediately drawn to a glimmering object partially buried in the dirt of the cave floor. His eyes narrowed as he knelt closer to investigate.

"What is that?" Kai whispered to himself, his voice low and intrigued. He brushed off some of the dirt, revealing a lustrous green gem that sparkled faintly in the dim light. His lips curved into a sly grin as he muttered, "It's a gem, looks so expensive. I think I should take it."

With a quick glance around to ensure no one was watching, Kai slipped the gem into his pocket, patting it discreetly before standing back up.

Meanwhile, Jin's voice broke the silence, his tone casual but curious. "What date is it?" he asked Wei, turning his head slightly toward him.

Wei, looking visibly preoccupied, replied flatly, "I am going to my room. Ask Ryu." Without another word, he strode out of the cave, his posture tense and his steps brisk.

The rest of the group exited the cave, blinking against the sudden brightness of the sun.

"What date is it?" Jin repeated, this time directing his question at Ryu.

Ryu frowned slightly, pulling his hands out of his pockets and shrugging. "We will ask someone in the Agency. I don't have my watch here," he said nonchalantly.

As they headed toward the Agency, Tony's eyes caught movement near the training grounds. He squinted and saw Master Feng talking to a boy who appeared to be about Kai's age and height.

"Hey, do you know that boy with Master Feng?" Tony asked, his tone laced with curiosity as he pointed toward the pair.

"Where?" Jin and the others quickly looked in the direction Tony indicated.

"There, with Master Feng," Tony said again, emphasizing his words with a more deliberate gesture.

The boy stood beside Master Feng, listening attentively, his posture upright and confident.

"I think he is Master Feng's son," Jin said, tilting his head as if analyzing the boy from afar.

Ryu, unfazed, brushed off the speculation. "Whoever he is, let's ask someone about the date," he said with a dismissive wave of his hand.

Kai, ever the pragmatist, chimed in, "Or we can check the Agency's digital calendar."

Jin nodded in agreement. "He is right. Let's go there and check it," he said decisively, urging the group to move on.

At the Agency, they quickly located the digital calendar and checked the date.

"It's 16 May," Jin said, his tone neutral but thoughtful.

"Nice, the same date we left this world and entered the other world," Tony noted with a hint of wonder in his voice.

Kai's stomach rumbled audibly, prompting him to announce, "Alright, I am feeling hungry. Let's go to the canteen."

"I am feeling hungry too," Ryu admitted, rubbing his stomach with a sheepish smile.

They headed to the canteen, where they ate quickly before making their way to the combat ground. The atmosphere in the combat arena was charged with energy as trainees prepared for the next test.

"What is this month's test about? I forgot it," Tony asked his tone a mix of curiosity and mild dread.

"It's the Basic Combat course," Jin replied matter-of-factly, adjusting his gloves.

"Ohh, that's it," Tony said with a sigh of relief.

Their conversation was interrupted when a boy approached them, slightly out of breath. "Master Feng is calling all of you to the Principal's office," the boy said, his voice clear and authoritative.

"Why is he calling us?" Kai asked, his brow furrowing in confusion.

"I don't know. He just told me to call all of you," the boy replied with a small shrug.

"Ok, we are coming," Ryu said, nodding.

They made their way to the Principal's office, their steps echoing in the quiet hallway. As they entered, their eyes immediately fell on Master Feng, standing with the same boy they had seen earlier.

"Sir, you called us," Jin said, his voice steady but respectful.

Master Feng nodded and gestured toward the boy. "I want you all to meet him. He is MyungJin, and he wants to get training here. I don't have any other choice but to make him stay here. Who is going to share the room with him?"

Ryu stepped forward with a polite smile. "It would be our pleasure to have a new friend," he said warmly.

Master Feng turned to the boy. "MyungJin, you can go to room No. 165."

With a slight bow, MyungJin left the room without a word, his footsteps fading down the hallway. The others began to turn toward the door, ready to leave.

"Wait here," Master Feng said, his voice firm.

They halted immediately, exchanging confused glances.

"Yes, sir," Tony said, his tone cautious.

Master Feng's gaze sharpened as he looked at each of them in turn. "I've been keeping an eye on you all since you killed that impostor. So, what are your powers?"

The group froze, their expressions shifting to surprise and apprehension.

"What powers? Do you know that we have powers?" Jin asked, his brow furrowed.

Kai crossed his arms defensively. "I don't even know the definition of powers," he said, a touch of defiance in his tone.

Master Feng raised his hand and, with a swift motion, sent a gust of wind blasting toward Kai. The powerful force knocked Kai backward, making him stumble into a chair with a loud thud.

"This is called a power. That's my power—I can control air," Master Feng said, his voice calm yet commanding.

Kai gritted his teeth, pulling himself up. With a determined expression, he shrugged off his shirt and summoned his wings, which unfurled behind him with an audible whoosh.

Master Feng's eyes widened slightly in intrigue. "Hmm, interesting. What about you all?"

Tony stepped forward, clenching his fist. He charged his punch, his knuckles glowing faintly as he slammed his fist into the table. The wooden table instantly transformed into stone, the impact resonating with a deep crack.

Jin stepped up next, retrieving a glass and filling it with water from his knife. The water flowed smoothly, defying gravity as it poured from the blade. He then placed the glass aside, took out a sandwich, and cooked it using a controlled flame emanating from the knife's edge.

Master Feng nodded in approval before his gaze landed on Ryu, who stood silently at the back, his expression unreadable.

"Why aren't you showing your powers?" Master Feng asked, his tone direct.

Ryu shook his head. "Sir, I don't have power," he said quietly.

Master Feng's brow furrowed in disbelief. "But I saw you making ice spikes," he said.

"It's a long story," Ryu replied, his voice firm but distant.

Master Feng leaned forward slightly, his curiosity evident. "I'm ready to hear," he said.

The group exchanged glances before launching into an explanation of everything that had happened in the other world. They spoke of their journey, the powers they discovered, and their confrontation with the villain. Master Feng listened intently, his expression thoughtful.

"So that means Wei has the power to create a force field, control air, and open portals through space and time. And you killed that villain with your Seven Weapons, or whatever you call them. And Jin was the Royal Guard of the Princess," Master Feng summarized, leaning back slightly.

"Yes, but didn't you keep an eye on Wei during all that time?" Kai asked, his tone tinged with suspicion.

Master Feng shook his head. "No, because I was busy elsewhere. But I want to ask you something."

"Yes?" Tony said, leaning forward slightly, intrigued.

"Will you join Ex Agency after all these courses?" Master Feng asked, his tone measured but serious.

"What? Isn't this the real Ex Agency?" Jin asked, his face scrunching in confusion.

Master Feng smiled faintly. "No. This is just the basics you will learn here in eight months. Have you heard about Agents Team Ex and the Ex Masters?"

"I have heard about it, but no one has seen any of them. So, I think it's just a myth," Kai said, shrugging.

Master Feng's smile deepened. "I am one of the Ex Masters, and some of our students from the real Ex Agency are in Agents Team Ex."

The group fell silent, processing this revelation.

"We will think about it," Jin finally said, his tone cautious but open.

Master Feng nodded. "And MyungJin is here to learn the basics of the Ex Agency. He will also become a part of Agents Team Ex. He knows much about powers, so you can share with him."

"Thank you, sir," Ryu said, bowing slightly.

They left the Principal's office and headed to their room. When Ryu and Tony entered, they noticed there were now three beds instead of two. MyungJin was already asleep in one of them. It was 9 p.m., and they decided to get ready for bed as well. Soon, the room was quiet, with only the sound of steady breathing as the three of them slept.
