Chapter 50 - Chapter 50

However, it might have been because Chen Jingxuan was so quiet; once he got into the car, he didn't move at all, and his small presence didn't attract much attention. Although occasionally some wandering zombies were drawn to the blood scent here, passing by them, none noticed their existence.

Seeing that Chen Jingxuan was doing well and should be safe, Park Su thought he might as well use this opportunity to quietly wait in the car. Once his superpower was fully restored, if Xu Nuo hadn't come back by then, he would leave Green Vine to look after Chen Jingxuan and go upstairs to help Xu Nuo.

But even by four in the afternoon, there was no sign of Xu Nuo coming down. Considering Xu Nuo had been inside for about two hours, it seemed unlikely that something had gone wrong.

Or maybe those people were taking advantage of their numbers to bully Xu Nuo. Perhaps he should go up to cheer Xu Nuo on or help collect some spoils with the remaining space rings. With that thought, he was about to get out of the car when he saw a shadowy figure faintly emerging from the supermarket.

With just a glance, Park Su recognized who it was and breathed a sigh of relief; it seemed there was no need to worry. Before he could get out, he saw the door of the car behind his open quietly.

Chen Jingxuan immediately got out and ran towards Xu Nuo. Xu Nuo had killed quite a few zombies upstairs, and although he had a talisman to avoid attracting zombies with the scent of blood, the killing aura hadn't completely dissipated from him. Normally, a child would be scared to approach someone like that so directly.

But Jingxuan was too worried about his mother to care about the aura; he rushed to Xu Nuo, grabbing his sleeve, "Big brother, have you seen my mom? She said she was going upstairs with you. Did she come down with you?"

Xu Nuo frowned at the touch; he really didn't like being touched, even by a child. But remembering that Lü Xia had tried to help him upstairs, even if she hadn't been of much help, her intention was good, so his tone softened a bit.

"She came down with me, but she has a lot of stuff with her. You should wait here obediently, don't get hurt by zombies, and don't cause trouble for her." As for her condition, that was something for her to explain to her child. He definitely didn't want to see a child crying in front of him.

Hearing that his mother had come down, Jingxuan relaxed, but he missed that Xu Nuo didn't say she was fine. He stood there, full of anticipation, unable to return to the car, just staring at the exit.

On the other side, Park Su also got out of his car and walked over to Xu Nuo. Before he could speak, he heard Xu Nuo's somewhat disdainful voice, "Why did you come down?"

Park Su couldn't help but pout, "Isn't this to welcome your triumphant return?"

Xu Nuo chuckled, "Is it to welcome my return or because you don't trust this kid? You know it in your heart." After saying that, he didn't wait for a response and got into the passenger seat. He didn't dislike the child, so he let him be. After sitting down, the corners of his mouth curved slightly.

Regardless of whether Park Su's words were sincere or not, the joy Xu Nuo felt seeing Park Su get out of the car to welcome him, with that fleeting concern in his eyes, was genuine.

He rubbed his temples; he seemed to be increasingly craving this moment of warmth, even though he knew it wasn't ideal, he couldn't easily let go.

His care for Park Su seemed to be more than he had anticipated, perhaps because he found in Park Su the warmth of family he'd never had before.

Family? That feeling wasn't bad at all. He closed his eyes and leaned back in the seat, no longer paying attention to what was happening outside, confident that after resting, Park Su could handle any situation.

Although Park Su's real intentions were seen through by Xu Nuo, since Xu Nuo didn't object, he didn't get back into the car. He stood behind Jingxuan, silently watching him, taking in the anxious expression on the child's face.

He felt a bit of self-mockery in his heart; this child was much more filial than he had been. At least he was concerned for his mother, unlike himself in his past life, who only had eyes for a man and forgot about his own mother. It was indeed his karma.

Just then, Jingxuan's eyes lit up, and he dashed towards the supermarket. Park Su quickly saw the woman coming out, carrying bags of various sizes.

He looked around to make sure there was no danger, then turned back to his car. Through the car window, he watched Jingxuan help his mother with the packages, and they got into the car together. His heart felt a twinge of sourness, but he didn't move, and Xu Nuo, with his eyes closed, didn't interfere as he used to.

Only after seeing them get into their car did Park Su start the engine and continue the journey. Halfway through, he suddenly remembered that Xu Nuo had mentioned four people being upstairs with him, none of whom he had seen come down.

So he asked, puzzled, "Didn't you see those four people upstairs, or did something else happen, or did they do something stupid to you, cough." As he spoke, he made a throat-cutting gesture with one hand.

Xu Nuo, with his eyes still closed, lazily said, "Drive properly, don't make a fuss." After a pause, he continued, "I thought your mind was only on that mother and son?" After saying this, even he felt it sounded too much like he was vying for attention, which was inappropriate.

He quickly opened his eyes to look at Park Su, but Park Su's expression hadn't changed, which relieved him. He went on, "Those four indeed had some skills. Like you said, they did something stupid to me; they thought they were capable and didn't want me to collect supplies, not realizing that with their tactics, they couldn't monopolize the entire second floor.

I didn't bother with them, but they were not wise enough to pick a fight. You know I hate noise, so I taught them a lesson to show them not to be too greedy. Now, whoever is still alive probably doesn't have the energy to follow us, and they won't have the chance in the future. This makes things easier for us."

While Park Su appeared to be listening intently to Xu Nuo, he was internally somewhat bewildered by Xu Nuo's sincere-sounding words.

After all, he was gay, and Xu Nuo was a man who was excellent in looks, character, and ability. Normally, Xu Nuo's cold demeanor wouldn't make Park Su think much of it, but this sudden change in tone made him feel a bit dazed, almost as if he had been teased...

However, he reminded himself not to overthink, to remember the lessons from his past life, but despite this self-admonition, his ears turned slightly red. Fortunately, he was good at managing his facial expressions, so Xu Nuo didn't notice anything unusual.

But hearing about the lesson Xu Nuo gave those four people, Park Su's mind automatically conjured up images of their miserable state. He couldn't help but marvel at their audacity in provoking Xu Nuo when he wasn't even bothering them.

Yet, after hearing what Xu Nuo said, he frowned. Wanting to monopolize the supplies of the entire second floor?

Was that just idle boasting? He asked hesitantly, "I remember you told me one of those four was a metal superpower user, right?"

Xu Nuo nodded, "That's correct. She used metal powers against me upstairs."

Park Su frowned, "You also mentioned that the other three seemed to respect her a lot, but just metal powers alone wouldn't command that kind of respect. And didn't you say one of them had awakened wood powers?

If that's the case, they should be on equal footing, so why follow her lead? And if they could boast about monopolizing the food on the second floor among four of them, I think there might be someone with space powers among them.

Combined with how they all showed respect to that woman, I suspect she might be a dual superpower user. Meaning, she might have awakened both metal and space abilities. That would explain the respect they give her."

Xu Nuo was somewhat impressed, "So, there's such a thing as a dual superpower user. But the space power user you're talking about, isn't that similar to the space rings I create? Just that they have their own space to store supplies without needing external tools?"

Park Su nodded, "Exactly, but if the space power is cultivated to a certain level, they can also use teleportation to switch spaces. What higher levels might entail, I'm not sure, but among all superpower users, space users are probably the most sought after.

Because with them, you can travel more conveniently and store more supplies efficiently. And a dual superpower user, with one being space and the other an offensive metal power, is very rare!"

"And among all high-level superpower users, space users and mental users are the ones with the highest combat capabilities. When a space user reaches a high level, their ability to survive is significantly higher than other superpower users. That's why, once discovered, major bases will treat space users with great respect and do everything they can to keep them within their base."

After Park Su finished speaking, he felt a bit envious. Why do others awaken with such impressive dual powers while he only got an auxiliary power? Fortunately, after being reborn, he met such a powerful ally. Even if he wasn't formidable himself, as long as Xu Nuo didn't leave him, pretending to be powerful with borrowed strength wasn't a problem.
