Chapter 6 - Allies and Rivals

Jay was looking around the room. Wondering how he had arrived there. Momo ran to Jay and gave him a hug, telling him that he was never allowed to die again. The group ran at him to give him a hug and explained everything that had happened. The Jester behind Jay stood up but Jay motioned it to sit back down. Jay asked everyone to leave his room, and he followed them out. The door magically flew back onto its hinges and became a wall again.

"Let's go to the meeting room." Jay told everyone. He was wearing the clothing he had died in battle. With a hole in the middle of his shirt. Jay sat on his chair at the round table and asked for the information once more. Momo explained that a group of bounty hunters had taken her staff. She told him the leader of the group was called NightMare. Jay looked at the rest of the group and Larry explained how they got ambushed.

"So these guys think I'm a Myth?" Jay asked. The group all nodded yes to him. Jay laughed and said, "Well then I'll find them and show them that they messed with the wrong guild."

Larry Handed Jay the orb that had the data entree of the Guild. Larry also told Jay that none of the guilds shops are selling the weapons they have created to the guild. Jay seemed pleased with the decision they made. Jay looked at the orb and changed the settings on the orb so that it showed more information about the guild. Larry asked how Jay did that and Jay showed Larry his own orb.

"These data orbs have useful information. The only thing is that it's locked to some degree. All you need to do is open a person's file and make it look like you're in that person's guild. It will show you the location of the guild if they don't have it . I know for a fact that they did not set up defenses on the guild because it took me a while to find out how to make a guild castle 'disappear' from the map." Jay tossed the orb back to Larry and followed Jay's instruction on finding the location of the bounty hunter guild. Jay also provided a GPS location on players in Larrys orb. Happy about finding out secrets on the orb he decided to try putting the GPS tracker on the world map in the meeting room. Everyone pushed their seats back and watched the world map drop down in front of them. Larry grabbed the files of players he wanted to locate and found out that they were hunting a player in the area. He triangulated the coordinates with Freds help. Fred knew a few things about rebounding the trackers and finding GPS locations in real life. They were currently tracking a person in the forests of silence by the name Far2Much. The bounty hunter group Started surrounding the target. Jay asked Larry to find out what guild the player being targeted was in. Larry handed the information to Jay.

Jay walked out of the room without warning. The group seemed worried that Jay was going to get himself into trouble. Momo stood up to see where he had gone, but when she opened the door, he was nowhere to be seen. Momo asked Larry to track Jay. It was a while before Larry could track Jay. The map seemed to have Jay pinned at the forest of silence, but Jay was not alone, he was being followed by 30 dots on the map Larry looked at some of the players information and they all seemed to be on the same guild as the Far2Much. Momo understood what Jay was doing. She told Larry to find anyone in the Bounty hunting guild and look for targets of the guild's high priority guilds. Fred took it a step further and tracked all the while helping Larry and found out who was hiring the Bounty hunters. The group began sending out Priority messages to Guilds that were possibly going to be targeted and are currently being targeted. At first there was no reply back to them. All of a sudden there were hundreds of messages telling them that they really appreciated the back up they had been given with the information and others replying that they would like to have an alliance with the guild.

Momo gathered as much information about the guilds and requested that they have a large alliance, and the meeting would be held in 10 days. The location will be given out to the leaders of the guild in the morning of the next day.

Momo, still watching the map, noticed that the Bounty hunters began disappearing as soon as Jay and the others had arrived. The group stared at the map for a while and waited to see what was going to happen. Jays Dot disappeared and Larry tried finding him on the map. They could not seem to find him and Momo began panicking. The Doors behind them opened wide and Jay was standing there. Momo ran and punched him in the stomach telling him never to scare her like that again. Jay coughed and laughed it off while explaining that they had an alliance with Far2Much's guild. The group told Jay they were going to have a big meeting with all of the other guilds that have been having issues with the bounty hunters. Jay informed them that he could create a pocket dimension that could serve as a meeting place, but it would take a lot of items.

Jay asked the group to contact each of the guilds to help make this happen. The guilds Agreed to help by retrieving the items Jay needed to help make a pocket dimension. Some of them were hesitant at first but Agreed at the end since the group helped them from being hunted down by the bounty hunting guild. On the 9th day Jay received one of the two items he needed to make the pocket dimension. The final item they needed wouldn't be ready to obtain until the final day.

On the morning of the next day Jay asked his group to meet him in the meeting room. The group joined him on the final day and all of them noticed the ominous Jester's Almighty Yell breathing fire on a block of what seemed to be coal. The block of coal slowly became the diamond Momo had used to revive Jay. The group sent messages to the other guild leaders telling them the meeting place will be open to them to teleport by Noon.

Jay took the diamond, And the other 99 items which all had magical properties and began to cast the dimension spell. The spell made all of the other items combine into a black cube. Jay took the black cube and multiplied it to 99 other cubes smaller than the first he then handed 14 cubes to the members to send out to the group. Jay took the other 2 and sent one out to Farsighted which was the guild Far2Much the leader of the guild was in. Jay opened the rift into the new dimension. Jay waited until all the members of his group walked through it. Jay turned to the Jester's Almighty Yell and opened his mouth. The creature turned into a gas form and as it floated towards Jay a loud roaring noise came from it. Jay swallowed the creature and walked through the rift.

The place all of the Guilds stood at was like a large court. Jay called the names of all of the heads in the guilds and asked him to join him up on the seating where the judges would sit. The rest of the members of the guilds had their own seating area with the guilds name attached to the front. Jay stood up and asked that everyone should be seated and everyone in the room did so. Jay announced to the group that this idea was pitched to them by his group member. Jay pointed out his guild and people began to whisper. Jay waited quietly until the whispers stopped. Jay explained that this place is for guilds that want to be in an alliance with any of the other guilds that were in the room, he wishes that once the other guilds put aside any differences they would have had in the past. When Jay asked that the guilds would put aside any differences a few of the guilds stood up shouting at Jay. They were yelling that one guild had stolen from them. The other guilds were soon getting up to yell back at them but the head of the guilds that were causing a commotion yelled at their leaders to behave themselves. The guilds that were causing a commotion quieted down. Jay looked at the head of the guild and asked them if they could resolve the issues with the rest of the guilds here. The heads agreed to have a formal mark of an alliance and will begin sorting out any bad blood between the guilds.

Once the guilds had settled an agreement to punishments for their deeds Jay continued to have benefits with the alliances. This process became long and tiresome for some of the leaders in the guild, but they did not want to ruin a perfectly good alliance with a big group such as this. They all powered through the process of what lands were the guilds lands. The alliance agreed upon the name The Mythical Alliance and a flag was suggested to be put in the territory of each land border. The flag was Agreed to have a pair of hands cupping 100 cubes and each of the cubes had the image of the guilds that were currently in the Alliance. All of the guilds had an agreement to enchant the flag if a guild was added or taken out of the alliance, the flag would then change by adding and removing a cube. The heads of the Guilds all signed on a piece of parchment Jay happened to enchant in front of them. The rules and regulations the guild heads had placed were now a binding contract.

Finally, Jay brought the topic of the NightMare's guild. This topic was the one the groups were waiting for. Everyone agreed that they wanted to make sure they suffered but almost all of the guilds did not want to harm them due to the fact that they were unsure if they would die in the game they would die in real life. Far2Much asked Jay if he could speak to the guilds. Jay nodded his head and sat back onto his seat.

"I myself was targeted by these men and they would have taken my life if it wasn't for Jay's guild. I would never wish anyone ill or death upon people because I would much rather see people live and prosper to become heroes in a realm so wonderful and beautiful. We have lived together for over a year now and look at what we have accomplished… Only one thing and that is a massive alliance between guilds that disliked each other. Not only is this the first great achievement but if we can change the views of the people around us, we would have a better chance of creating an even bigger achievement and that would be beating this game and returning home to our family, friends, and loved ones." Far2Much expressed deeply and warm heartedly to the guilds. The heads of the guilds agreed to not kill the Bounty Hunting guilds but have expressed to ban them from obtaining any equipment or resources from the alliance. Once the meeting between the guilds had completed, they alliance used the cubes to open the rift to return back to their areas.

Jay's group were the last to go through, Larry holding his orb in his hand was looking at Jay's information. Everyone but Larry and Jay were still in the court-like room. Jay noticed Larry looking at his information. Larry turned to Jay and asked "Why doesn't it tell me your gamer tag Jay? Also, it says you have never died, is this a bug in the game?" Larry looked at Jays Face as he smiled creepily at him.

Larry looked at the portal and back at Jay. Larry ran to the portal only to be stopped by Jay who was standing at the entrance of the portal.

"Larry this isn't really my true form you see. I have been planning this all along. Jay is locked up in a place called purgatory since it would have been an unfair advantage to have him on your team. He was a very promising adversary you know. Almost killed me when I first saw him log in. Jay had already planned for your group to gain levels fast since he was already a high level. He had already prepared for your rise. It's kind of impressive since he was the co-creator of Fantasy-Sphere. I didn't realize that he had very powerful friends in his group and having to play like him was a difficult task since he's very reckless. But playing recklessly made it so that I could 'kill' myself leaving my ability of a second life called Jesters Almighty Yell to appear in the room to revive my body once I was done completing my task in purgatory. You see Larry, the only reason you're alive right now is because… Well, I'll just kill you now." The imposter Opened his mouth and began roaring loudly a dark cloud began to float out of his mouth and the Jesters Almighty Yell revealed its horrifying form to Larry. Larry smiled and a bright light lit up the room.

The imposter ran through the portal and began shouting at the group that Larry had betrayed them and was trying to kill him. To the imposter's surprise he found Larry with the orb and with a recording of everything he had said. Momo Looked like she was going to murder the imposter. He smiled and said "Good luck finding Jay, he's probably dead in purgatory." A flash of bright light lit the room up leaving only the cube behind the imposter Jay left the Guild.

Fred and Larry stayed up all night trying to find out who the player impersonating was, finding no answer. T was researching purgatory with Momo in the Magical library with as much luck as Fred and Larry. Gale, Robert, and Will explained to the other guilds what had happened and helped bolster the defenses to ensure they were not infiltrated by any player. They began setting up a revealing charm barrier at every entrance in all the guilds to ensure that the players in their lobby were who they said they were.

A month passed on researching purgatory and Finally T found something. He called for Momo As books kept zipping through the room to get to them and flipping open T showed Momo a Book explaining that purgatory was a land destined for damned souls. Momo looked at the book and noticed that there was nothing written on it. Momo asked T if he had cast a spell on the book. T told Momo he had just opened it and it spoke about purgatory. T flipped through the pages and noticed that a third of the book was blank. Momo looked at the pages near the end and said she could read them. T somehow could not see any words. Momo explains that there is a possible spell that could be casted indicated in one of the pages that would be able to unlock the doors to purgatory. T read through the pages of the book that he could see and said that there is a list of materials that are needed. T began listing the material as Momo wrote down on a parchment. "The hand of an unholy servant. A glass eye of the damned, And the blood of a royal vampire. It also says here that the ingredients of life must be added next." T looked fascinated. They seemed to understand why they could not read 2 thirds of the book, but they couldn't figure out why they couldn't read 1 third of the book. Momo wrote down on the list the 3 items she needed from life, which were a seed of life, 3 drops of phoenix tears, and a feather of a golden angel. Momo told T that they needed at least 3 more ingredients but the first thing they needed to do was to find the missing part of the book. T agreed and asked Momo to contact the others in the group to find out if anyone could read the missing pages.

Larry and Fred seemed to have figured out that some people would be able to hide their gamer tags by spending a currency called Leviathan coins. As they explored the information further, they threw the orb Larry owned. They zoomed into the image of the coin which depicted a Creature with an angelic wing and a skeletal wing; this creature's face was half skull and the other half appearing to be unseen. It was towering over a castle with the emblem of the guild known as the Chosen Ones. Larry and Fred looked at each other and both seemed to have been thinking the same thing.

They teleported to the magical library and noticed that Momo and T were getting ready to leave. They called out for them and both of them stopped at once to see who had called for them. Larry and Fred simultaneously said that purgatory is at the guild. Showing them the coin they found searching the database. T and Momo showed the two their findings and explained that there was a missing link to the book they seemed to not be able to read the first part of the book which contains the rest of the ingredients to make a portal to purgatory. They all returned to the castle to see if they could figure out how to make the final pages appear.

When they arrived at the gate T felt the book shake T looked at the book and noticed that the book seemed to have changed. T showed Momo and she noticed the same thing. The book looked dull and gray. She asked T to open the book. The book's pages only showed them the missing pages. She tried reading the pages he could see, and it appeared to be blank. Larry asked to look at the book and noticed that he could read the pages as well. As they entered into the life side of the castle the book shook in Larrys hand. The book appeared to be green with leaves and full of life. T looked at the book again and he was not able to read the other pages. Momo took the book to show T the part she read. Fred said to the group that there must be a spell that can change the book to benefit the reader. He also stated that it is possible that the location could force a change in the book. Fred took a look at the book and asked Larry to appraise the book.

Larry tried to appraise the book but could not find any information. They tried to find information about the book in the orb Larry had but still could not find any information. Larry suggested that it was created by a player during beta testing. Fred agreed with Larry and asked if it was possible that the creator of the book left a sign or anything that could possibly help them.

Momo thought to herself saying that she could have someone help them. Everyone looked shocked that she would ask someone not within the guild to help. She mentioned that there was an NPC looking for its host and this could possibly be part of the hidden mission. She then asked Larry to hand over the book. A bright flash of white light emitted from her. The group covered their eyes as she teleported away.

Everyone was wondering the same thing. Where has she gone? The group waited to hear back from her. It wasn't until the next morning she had arrived at the gate with an angelic looking creature whose face was not seen due to a light shining bright. The players that were in the castle looked in awe. Some of the females seemed very attracted to the creature. They could not take their eyes off of it.

The group rushed down to meet them. Momo introduced the creature as The Cloaked Man. The group raised their arms in case the creature decided to attack. The Cloaked Man laughed and simply stated that if he wanted to kill them, they would have been dead. He had the book in his hand and lifted it to the sky. The book floated upward and split into three different books. All of the books had different titles to them. The Book of Life, the Book of the Dead, and the Book of Balance.

"These are the books that are the key to entering purgatory. I will assist you through your journeys. You will need to convince my counterpart to join us. Though the task will be difficult he will want to reunite with the host soon. We are losing power, you see." The Cloaked man showed them a hand that seemed to be not as bright as the other. "We need to reunite with our host or our spirits will suffer in purgatory. The leviathan will devour our souls. These creatures are not to be taken lightly. Our Host will soon die there and there will be no coming back from an attack by a leviathan. He is weak and is losing hope. Purgatory will drain your willpower if you are in there for too long." The Cloaked Man appeared to fall to his knees in pain.

They read through the books to find the last 3 ingredients to open the gate to purgatory. Now all they needed was the location to open the portal and the other Cloaked Man.

Larry and Fred Tried to find traces of the Cloaked Man's counterpart. The Cloaked man assisted them with looking for signs in the game that could possibly be the location of the other Cloaked Man. There were only Three locations where the other Cloaked Man could appear. The three locations were named Canyon of the lost, Death Valley, And Castle Grim. All Three of the locations were known to be prime PKing (Player Killing) zones. It was also the location of three different boss fights.

Larry looked at the group and said they would need to split the group into 2 Teams to check the first two locations since the Canyon of The Lost and Death Valley were the easiest to maneuver through. Castle Grim was known to be the worst of them all. A PKing guild known as the Grim's Disciples were known to roam around 24/7 to protect the creature known as Grim. Everyone seemed to have a good feeling that castle Grim would most likely be the spot that the other Cloaked Man would hide in but they didn't want to take an unnecessary chance. The Grim's Disciples are ruthless Pkers (Player Killers) that would lay down their lives to protect this one creature due to the Legendary PKing armor and weapons that was a possible drop from the creature. The drop rate of these items was 0.001% chance of obtaining them. However, with the PKing guild able to attack any players trying to fight the monster the chance of obtaining one of them seemed none.

The group decided that Will, Robert, and Gale could take on Anything in the Canyon of the Lost Since it was the easiest to move through and Robert would have fun killing NPCs that were low levels. Momo, Fred, T, and Larry all were going to The Valley of Death since T could manipulate any undead and the rest of the group could destroy undead easily.

The Cloaked Man gave Momo 2 yellow crystals and asked if she or one of the members were to find The Cloaked Man's counterpart to smash the crystal and it would entrap him in the location they found him. The Cloaked Man will then appear to stop his counterpart from escaping. The Group understood what their tasks were and relayed the message to Robert, Gale, and Will who agreed to take the other crystal. Once everyone knew what to do, they all packed to set off on their own journey.
