Liam met Alaric's attack head-on, their claws clashing with a deafening sound. The impact sent them both skidding across the rocky terrain, dust and sparks flying.
"Still the loyal Alpha," Alaric taunted, his voice dripping with mockery. "But loyalty won't save you, Liam. It never does."
Liam roared, his golden eyes blazing as he struck again, his movements fueled by fury. "You betrayed everything we stood for, Alaric!"
Alaric laughed, dodging the blow with practiced ease. "I'm not the one who abandoned his pack when they needed him most."
The words hit Liam like a physical blow, but he didn't falter. He lunged again, his claws grazing Alaric's side. Blood spattered the ground, but Alaric barely flinched.
"Getting better," Alaric said with a smirk. "But not good enough."
Before Liam could respond, Korrin emerged from the shadows, his amber eyes cold and unreadable as he moved to Alaric's side.
