"Hmm…?"
"I wonder if I'll see you again" He mumbled dangling a pair of red jade earrings before his eyes.
On the other hand,
Corvina battled a six-legged wolf, with both strength and speed, almost on equal level, no wonder it massacred an entire village in mere minutes.
Surprising, the wolf had not blind spots, Corvina lost count of how many times she knocked into a tree.
For some reason, the wolf kept avoiding her, instead it ran away making her chase it all around.
Feeling her powers about to go out of control from being overused, she quickly tried, calming down her nerves and releasing the strain the magic put on her body, as she suddenly felt weak and dizzy but stood her ground.
"What are you…?" She mumbled, at least she understood one thing from her futile fight, and that was this creature was intelligent, even more so than some humans, and outsmarting it was the only option, fighting was useless.
There big sized wolf, only just stared at her though not avoiding her again, It rested on the ground like a dog who was about to take a nap.
It looked so harmless, coupled with the exhaustion that hit her, but she suddenly felt like she was going to die.
As the dizziness became stronger, she quickly suppressed her powers, she noticed the wolf finally stand up, with a triumphant look in its eyes, howled loudly, almost bursting her eardrums.
It finally gazed at her like a predator catching its prey, who foolishly fell into his trap.
"Oh…, you where just waiting for me to let my defense down…?" She asked mockingly.
"Howl…!" It roared into the night, As the strong wind blew from everything corner as if trying to crush her.
"I see, you're a wind wolf…?, No wonder you avoided my fire…!"
Suddenly, a sharp wind blade, came from nowhere, spilting the wolf in two in an instant.
Shocked, Corvina scanned the wood, only to find no one, as realization dawned on her in an instant.
Oh…no!" She mumbled as she ran for her life for the second time, running into the forest, at the same time, wishing that Floria wasn't close by.
But, it seems that luck wasn't on her side, as it was too late. Running from two different angles, the wolf split itself into two, each having one eye on it's head.
'Where is the third eye…?' Her thoughts wondered, still trying to be cautious.
'I forgot the kind of creature that was, A nightmare wolf is not easy to kill and there, I was using fire on it, that wind blade gave me relief, only when I remembered it was just a distraction, for people to let their guard down, it feeds not only it's mouth but also three different parts of itself, no wonder it wasn't in a rush to kill me if I was a minute slowly I would have died'.
"Howl…!
"Howl…!
Corvina didn't know how long she ran but she know she was exhausted, and only her determination to live kept her going.
"Corvina…!" A voice called her, sounding familiar and panicked at the same time.
"Aunt Floria…?" Corvina ran in the direction of the voice, shocked that her Aunt was still in the forest, even after leaving two hours before her, for someone who knew the routes like the back of her hand, two hours where too long.
As the realization hit her, the third eye of the wolf was yet to appear she hurriedly stopped, but she was already surrounded by three wolves, each having one eye on there heads, though the normal size of a wolf, their strength was still higher and unmatched.
"Corvina…!" The voice called again, but she refused to fall for the same trick twice as her head began spinning and everything suddenly felt blurry, her last strength finally exhausted as she slammed on the ground with a loud thud…!
Hiss…, hiss…!
A loud hissing sounded in the background, The one eyed wolves suddenly felt scared, as the tried to emerge together, making a pitiful sound. As suddenly a large phyton from nowhere appeared, with lightning speed, crushed the three wolves with it's huge body, smashing their bones and devouring them.
"Bewitching phyton" Her soft tone could barely be heard, as she watched the colourful scales before her eyes shut completely.
+++++++
"Corvina…!" Derek's panicked tone resounded in his empty room, as he felt a sudden heartache fuming in his chest.
"Yuvo…! Where leaving" Without wonder what had happened, Derek directly left the palace in the dead of night.
"I have to see her…" It was the only words that escaped his lips, as he directly rode his horse for three hours straight. It was already dawn before he arrived at his destination, only the find nothing but ruins on a once cheerful village.
"Corvina…!" He arrived at her house, pushing the already broken door aside as he stepped inside, watching the damaged furniture and broken tables searching restlessly for the shadow of Corvina.
Arriving at the room, at the corner of the house, he pushed the door open, to find someone on the well dressed bed, the room having no sign of damage, as every corner was neat, the bookshelf being well-stacked in an orderly manner.
Strangely, the woman on the bed was asleep with a blanket over her face.
"Corvina…!" He excitedly rushed to her side, as he lifted the blanket, shocked to see a paled face Corvina, who had her eyes closed, as if in deep rest.
"Corvina wake up…!" Frightened, he tried waking her, only at the mere touch of his skin, she faded like the wind, right before his eyes.
In the palace,
The sun shining through the curtains of the palace, giving hope and assurance of a new day.
But, a gloomy atmosphere covered a certain room, as the young man on the bed sweat seriously as he pillow was soaked.
"No…!" He erupted from the bed looking around his room with frightened eyes, still in shock.
