The next day
Opening her eyes, Corvina was greeted with the warm rays of the sun on her face, only for her to realize she had forgotten to close her window late night,
Proceeding with her daily routine she entered the bathroom to take her bath,as everything was already prepared beforehand by Floria. and wearing the clothes provided for her, Corvina sat in front of her mirror, waiting for Floria to come braid her hair like she always did, though no longer a princess, Floria's treatment towards her was genuine, as she still did they things she always did, like, braiding her hair and helping her dress up.
Knock…Knock
"Come in, the door isn't locked" Corvina called from the inside.
The door swing open and the person who's reflection appeared on the mirror made a smirk appeared on Corvina's face, though it was not Floria.
"Good morning my lady…"
"Morning…" Corvina replied, "And you are?..." She asked puzzled.
"My name is Cynthiana my lady…" Cynthiana said with a low bow.
"You seem respectful today, I'm surprised, last time it seems you wanted a fight" Corvina teased in a not so playful tone.
"My lady misunderstood…" Saying this, she proceeded to braiding Corvina's hair at the left and right corner, and then packing it up in a high ponytail, twisting it an wrapping in around the ponytail in a neat bun.
In all this , Corvina endured greatly, keeping her posture straight as her hair dresser was in not easy gentle with her hair.
"Cynthiana right…?"
"Where are you from…?" Corvina asked again.
"I'm from Irena, My lady" Cynthiana replied in a straight forward manner.
"Irena…?"
"My lady must have not heard of it, It's an island in the Northern sea, actually it's in the middle of nowhere".
"Oh…I see"
"I'm done with your hair"
"Hmm..you may leave"
"Yes"
Cynthiana excited her room, almost immediately, Corvina drew out a map from her drawer, and searched for and Island called Irena, but to her surprise it didn't exist.
"Could she be lying…?"
"I don't think so…"
She readily closed the map, and hid it back in her drawer under a lot of books.
At A Certain Bar,
I wouldn't have believed the owner of the midnight Brothel with grace me with her presence, a dark haired man grin as he teased Floria.
"I want to see the snake…!" Floria demanded as the dark haired man gave a soft chuckle.
"You look so cute, when you're crazy…literally…!" He added at the end of his sentence, making Floria blush in embrassment at his rude words.
"Where is the Snake, I'm been serious here…"
Lighting the end of his cigarette stick, he just smiled and shrugged, in an arrogant manner. Making his way towards Floria as she, a little frightened took a step backward, only to realize that she was trapped.
"Strip…!" His cold voice echoed in her ears.
"What did you say…?"
"My dear…don't make me repeat my self, it won't be good for your body…" his words sent shivers down her spine as he ruthlessly pulled her hair, making her scream in pain.
"Now…what did I tell you about making me repeat myself…?" He sealed her lips in a rough kiss almost suffocating her, as he let her go after a short while.
"You're getting weaker…?" His
Comment left her stun and speechless.
"Wha…ahh…!" Before she could speak, he pulled her to the table, swinging the table clear, as he pulled her on top, positioning himself between her legs and reaping her clothes to shreds turning deaf ears to her pleading.
"Please stop…!" She begged, but nothing could be done as there was no one around in the empty room.
Three hours later,
Floria laid weakly on a spacious bed, with a servant girl cleaning her bruises and wiping her body with a soft towel though her nude body, the young man standing across the room showed not hide of lust.
"Please, where is the serpent…did you kill it?" Her choked voice invoked ones sympathy, but the man before her was on-moved.
"It disappeared…" He replied in a cold tone.
"What…why didn't you tell me…!" Floria angrily yelled at she tried to stand, but was shocked by the pain she felt.
"And you would have done what…?!" He directed the question back at her, as he silently moved towards her bed, which made her body act on Instincts trying to get away from him, which made him smile on seeing the fear in her eyes.
Standing before her bed, she caught a shimmer of light, before anyone could say anything.
The dragger went right through the maids back, shocking Floria as the unconscious maid laid on the floor covered in blood.
"Why…?"
"She knows too much…I can't risk you…or our plan" he whispered, placing a peck on Floria's hair.
"Don't fret, we'll find it, The girl doesn't even remember something like that…It's your job to make sure she doesn't remember, else you will no longer be of any use to me" He said gazing at the dead maid, which she clearly knew what he was implying
Not going anywhere for the day, Corvina just rested in her room looking out her window as she watched the busy streets.
Suddenly, she felt a burning sensation at the tip of her fingers, as the pain slowly swallowed her hand reaching her chest as she found it hard to breathe but at the same time could not call for help from anyone.
Feeling weak and hopeless, she collapsed on the ground as she saw her skin turning red from the intense heat unwilling to yelid to the pain, she tried to control her breathing but it seems futile.
Suddenly, she felt something cold in her palm as she grabbed it immediately feeling it's lean and thin form.
Gazing at her palm, she was shocked and immediately released her grip, throwning the thing far away at the other corner of the room.
As it hissed in excruciating pain.
