The room resembled a classroom with a lot of translucent screens floating around all of them were displaying different battles that were being played by various students.
Some used magic well others used Traits. Witch granted them special powers that enhance their strength or speed. Some can be unnatural such as having a tail or horns and so on but most of the time it was simply an enhancement of their physical ability. Most of these were just for looks, but if used effectively, some could be deadly.
There were thousands of traits around the world that gave magical abilities such as having an inextinguishable Flame. Traits are a unique ability that can't be produced by magic as magic is the ability to comprehend the laws of the world and bend them to your will.
Without giving Lucian any more time to himself self the 2 people in the room introduced themselves
The woman who I previously fought introduced herself as Shana she had long blond hair that was tied into a ponytail. She had on a white robe with a black sash wrapped around her waist. The other person was a man that had silver hair, he wore a black cloak with a red trim. He had on a dark gray hoodie with a large "M" on the chest.
He had on a pair of jeans and brown boots. His hands were hidden under the sleeves of the cloak.
I have a question Shana Lucian said well point to her
"How are you alive?"
Giggling Shana answered, "Do you know what this place is called?"
Shaking his head Lucian shook his head said "No"
"Well then let me explain to you this place is called "Souljra array" It was made to produce a magical circle underneath the challenger transferring their body to a place where time doesn't flow properly allowing the user to use the skills and abilities of the past and present.
It then transfers the soul of the user into an artificial human with similar properties to Awakened humans that's why you probably felt superhuman or were able to produce results similar to an Awakened human
When you kill an "Artificial human" with the soul of the opponent inside of it you will gain points regulated by the "points system" The higher the points someone has the more you will gain, if you had 70 points and an opponent had 100 you will gain bonus points equal to 30% of theirs. And if your opponent had 90 points and you have 50 then you'll gain 15%. But if both opponents have the same amount of points then nothing changes.
"So even if I kill the opponent they will just return to their original body?"
Shanna nodded well replying with an obvious "Yes"
"Then why did the Artifical Human Body look exactly like your own?"
When you are put into the "Souljra Array" your body gets put into a suspended state well the Souljra Replicates the looks and appearance of the user and makes an Artificial Human out of the frame of the enemy.
That's also why when you're in there you feel like you're still yourself and not in the body of someone else.
Lucian tilted his head trying to understand this concept.
"Ok, so basically this is a battle simulator."
"Are you able to infinitely challenge people
And go into the "Souljra Array" Lucian asked
"Yup," Shana replied smiling.
There is one thing to consider though the higher the points the more common running into trait users and magic users unfortunately for you everyone new here is at the bottom with 10-20 points well everyone with a trait and magic is at 50-100 points.
Which means you might run into people with Traits like me.
"A trait user?"
Shana nodded yes.
"Ohh Ok, thanks for explaining all that to me. By the way Shana can I call you Shana?"
"Sure" Shana smiled.
"Bye Shana see you later bye," Lucian said well walking off towards the Libary building.
***
Lucian walked into the library and looked around.
There weren't many people in the area since most of them were taking classes outside of the Library.
I wonder if there are any books on fighting techniques?
Looking through the shelves, Lucian didn't find much information on martial arts or weapons.
Maybe there isn't anything written on those subjects in the whole world.
He sighed thinking about the situation.
I guess there is only so far I can go without knowing what I'm doing.
If I know how to fight better than anyone else maybe I won't need to rely on others so much.
At that moment Lucian heard someone clear their throat behind him.
Turning around he saw a girl looking at her watch. She wore a white blouse under a light blue cardigan, and she was holding a book in her hand. Her short blonde hair was tied back with a purple ribbon.
She had bright green eyes and a beautiful face with soft features.
Her clothes were simple and practical, and the fact that she had a book made it seem as if she knew where she was going.
She seemed familiar to Lucian.
"Hi, are you Lucian?" the girl asked.
"Umm..." Lucian stammered. "Yes, I am."
"Do you remember me? My name is Shana. We met yesterday."
"Ah, yeah, sorry I forgot your face."
"Don't worry it happens to everyone," Shana said smiling.
"Well anyway, I wanted to ask if you'd like to come to lunch together tomorrow."
"Lunch? What's that?"
"It's like eating dinner but earlier. Everyone eats lunch together every day except for Fridays. But today it's Friday so everyone has the afternoon off. Do you have plans for lunch?"
"No, that sounds nice actually. Can you tell me where it's located?"
Shana pointed to a door marked 'Cafeteria.'
"That's where you'll meet up with everyone. They usually eat at 11:00am, and you should arrive by noon. That way you're not late. And then after that, you can head to wherever you want to go."
"Thanks for telling me that, I appreciate it."
"Anytime. Well, see ya!"
Shana waved goodbye as Lucian headed towards the book section about magic as he had no knowledge of magic whatsoever.
I hope this will help me figure out how to use magic.
While searching for a book on magic, Lucian bumped into a woman carrying two bags full of groceries.
"Excuse me, pardon me." Lucian apologized.
"Are you alright?" the woman asked worriedly.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just tripped."
"You sure? Let me take a look at your ankle."
Lucian took his foot away from the ground and let the woman examine the injury.
"Oh wow, you really did trip hard. Are you okay?"
"I'm fine now. Thank you for checking."
"No problem. Here, you might need this. Take care of yourself."
With that, the woman handed Lucian a small bottle.
"Thank you."
Lucian smiled gratefully as he walked off.
Why does everyone keep giving me stuff?! Is there something wrong with me!?
Lucian thought as he continued to browse through the shelves of books. After browsing for quite some time, he finally found a book titled: "Introduction To Magic" by Archmage Alfrida
Lucian quickly flipped open the cover and scanned the contents page.
Magic is categorized into tiers based on its effect and range. There are also subcategories within each tier. For example, fire magic is considered to be a lower tier than wind magic since air is more abundant in nature and therefore easier to manipulate compared to fire.
Fire magic is capable of producing flames that burn things whereas Wind Magic creates gusts of winds that can move objects. Fire magic is often used to cook food or start fires while wind magic is typically utilized for transportation purposes such as blowing objects across large distances.
Wind magic is also commonly referred to as flying magic since it allows users to fly short distances while moving objects long distances.
Within the category of magic, there are five main types; physical, mental, spiritual, elemental, and life force. Physical magic involves manipulating matter, while mental magic includes the manipulation of thoughts.
Spiritual magic deals with spirits and souls. Elemental magic manipulates the elements of water, earth, fire, ice, lightning, Light, and Darkness. Life force magic uses life energy to create spells.
All magic requires mana to operate. Mana can either be stored or consumed depending on the spell being cast.
There were once magicians who stored their mana in circles, more circles meant more mana, making it easier for them to use higher tier spells but humanity advanced and disbanded the circles instead they made a more complex system, where they would make a core out of mana then have small stars be distributed through their bodies.
Witch came "Mana Cores" the higher the purity the more mana one can possess, in this process, the impurities gets flushed out of the body per breakthrough of the core from deep red, then it progresses becoming red, then bright red, then orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet, White cores and finally gold cores. Are rarer than others but are usually the best.
White cores are what most mages strive to obtain, they're extremely pure and are very difficult to obtain. A white core is composed of 100% pure mana.
They require no upkeep costs and can produce unlimited amounts of mana. In addition, they cannot be stolen without the user noticing. However, it takes a lot of work and time to collect a white core, meaning that they aren't very popular among normal people.
White cores are so rare it takes a Millennium genius to even become one all-white-cored individuals are always Influential. Inside of the "Gods Games". As when you become a white cored you stop aging and gain immortality.
The proper tiers of spells always worked on the difficulty of the spells and how catastrophic they are as tier 1 spells can damage a wide area but requires massive amounts of focus and mana to do massive amounts of damage,
Tier 2 is where humans devised a method of magic of where they put their will into it making it more destructive and easier to manipulate.
Tier 3 was where humanity didn't just add their will but instead focused on the materialization of their will.
Tier 4 was where the majority of the population learned their craft and mastered their own spells.
Tier 5 spells were spells that utilize the caster's will To add a unique effect to magic each castor can make a tier 5 spell but only blue-cored individuals can use even one tier 5 spell as they require massive amounts of mana to maintain them. To keep these spells running a caster must constantly pour mana into it.
Tier 6 spells were named into a cagatory called Elemental spiritual Transition only most tier 6 spells can develop a will of their own as not only do they need mana they also take part of the caster's soul. They do not have a conscience.
But they have a will either being more destructive or hungry, multiple people gave a will to spells that give them a unique ability, and only one Elemental Spiritual Transition can be engraved onto a spell.
When putting a will into a spell it will cause it to either become passive or more aggressive such as flames becoming cold as ice and instead of burning it freezes the target.
Elemental Spirit transitions are extremely rare and powerful when added to a spell but when added It applies to all spells related to that element making whoever adds a will and soul to their element extremely rare and dangerous to fight.
Spells were classified into four categories: offensive, defensive, utility, and support. Offensive spells direct harm to opponents, such as fireballs, acid, poison gas, and swords. Defensive spells protect oneself and allies from attacks, such as shields, barriers, and healing potions. Utility spells provide aid during battle, such as buffs, debuffs, and teleportation.
Support spells enhance the performance of other spells. For example, a shield may increase defence, but it also increases the amount of damage absorbed from enemy attacks.
"Whoa Archmage Alfrida is incredibly Knowledgeable. About magic this book is probably worth thousands it even shares how to make a core it makes me wonder how Shattered Fang got their hands on this book…. Or maybe this is mass-produced…? Who knows. Lucian thought well skimming through the rest of the book it talked about what to do to see mana and how to create a mana core. The book goes on to explain the basics of creating a core, the steps needed to build a core, how to store mana, and how to use it.
There are pictures showing various stages of building a core. The author claims that anyone can learn to make a core after reading this guide. Well, this should be useful for later on.
Lucian decided to note down all the Important details of the book on a piece of paper so he could look at it he made notes of all tiers of magic, the different types of cores, the effects of spells, how to make a core, and how to even perceive mana. Lucian took a moment to think about how much information he'd read in his head and sighed.
After spending several hours in the library Lucian went outside of the library to go back to his dormitory.
Lucian walked down the halls until he reached the door leading to the hallway. He opened the door and entered the room. Inside was a small bed, desk, chair, wardrobe, and mirror.
"What have I walked into Lucian thought that everyone was assigned to a room with no roommates?
Lucian thought well staring at a woman who only had her bra and panties on, she had long fiery red hair with purple streaks and light green eyes. Her breasts were large and firm. She had a tattoo on the side of her hip of a dragon.
She was sleeping soundly on top of the sheets. Of his bed.
Her skin was pale, and she seemed to be in perfect health. She was beautiful beyond compare. Lucian stood frozen for a few seconds before he finally moved forward to touch her cheek.
Before giving Lucian any more time to think the woman pulled Lucian in even though she was sleeping she embraced Lucian in a hug.
"Hey! What the hell?!"
He tried to push away from the embrace, but she kept pulling him closer Without giving it any more thought Lucian stopped caring and let himself fall asleep next to the mysterious beauty.
