Azkaban, Cell H.S Twelve, 3/30/1982, 13:16
The last week had been an exercise in patience. Bellatrix was very unbalanced and would throw a tantrum if he said the wrong thing. It was strange for him to see her looking so normal, she was a few years older than him now but they were still pretty close to the same age.
Harry's physical strength had almost completely returned in the last few days and he was starting to get restless being stuck in this tiny cell.
He did learn something from this experience, the living conditions in Azkaban were not as bad as advertised, they had three meals a day, a loo, and a sink in the cell and the guards escorted the inmates to shower once a week.
The reason most prisoners lost their minds in the prison was due to the dementor's constantly feeding on them, they made a person not want to eat, they made it nearly impossible to sleep without nightmares, and the prisoners slowly lost their will to live. Many became rambling lunatics screaming out when the memories they were forced to relive became too much for them as Harry heard quite often.
The dementors avoided their cell for some reason, Harry hadn't experienced any of the effects he associated with dementors since he arrived here, so Harry and by extension, Bellatrix didn't have to deal with that problem at least.
"Feeling better today?" Bellatrix asked.
"A bit," Harry said quietly.
"Good, it's nice to have someone to talk to," Bellatrix said.
"I am not much of a conversationalist," Harry said.
"I know, I read your mind," she said.
"And you have no idea how much that pisses me off," Harry said sourly.
"Yes I do, I read your mind," Bellatrix pointed out with a smirk.
"You were a brat growing up weren't you?" Harry asked.
"Was not!" Bellatrix pouted.
"Right, so if you want to talk, tell me why you did it?" Harry asked wanting to avoid a childish argument.
"Did what?" Bellatrix asked curiously.
"Became a death eater," Harry said.
"I wanted to save our world from mudbloods and restore the purebloods to their rightful place," Bellatrix said.
"By serving one?" Harry asked incredulously.
"Don't you speak of my master in that way!" Bellatrix shrieked in rage throwing herself at him.
Harry dodged her attempt to hit him and shoved her back onto her cot.
"You really have an anger management problem," Harry said with a shake of his head.
"My sisters always said I had two personalities," Bellatrix said sounding almost childlike again.
"Yeah, I noticed," Harry said having gotten used to her sudden bursts of rage already.
Harry thought she had three personalities, the childish immature one which while annoying was easy to deal with and could be quite entertaining at times.
There was the irrational angry side, the one where she would burst into rages and try to attack him when Harry said something that upset her, this side was not as easy to deal with and happened sporadically but usually didn't last very long.
Then there was the most dangerous one of all, her cold calculated intelligent side. She may be borderline crazy but there was no denying her obvious intelligence.
When conversations moved to serious topics it was like a switch was flipped and he was talking to someone worthy of the house of serpents. Harry had a feeling this was the side of her that earned her place as Voldemort's most feared death eater.
"I'm sorry don't be mad at Bella," She said giving him what he supposed passed for puppy dog eyes.
"I'm not mad, Annoyed sure but not mad, and stop trying to touch that," Harry said as her hand was wandering towards his crotch.
"It's bigger than Rudy's I was only curious," she defended with a pout.
"I don't try and fondle you without permission," Harry said tiredly.
"Yes, and I have already forgiven you for that," Bellatrix said.
"Well just stop it, in case you didn't notice from your trip in my mind, I don't have fond memories of you," Harry said flatly.
"That wasn't me, I would never kill my cousin," Bellatrix protested.
"You will, I saw it," Harry said heatedly.
"Then you should have looked closer, I saw the spell I hit him with in your memory, it was a stunner," She protested.
"That knocked him through the veil of death," Harry said getting angry.
"How was I supposed to know that? I am not an unspeakable, anyway, he's three cells over and still very alive," Bellatrix said sounding tired of this conversation.
"Shit! I guess I'll have to take him with me when I leave," Harry said thoughtfully.
"You're in the lifer wing nobody leaves," Bellatrix pointed out.
"Ha, Barty Crouch will leave in a month, his daddy will break him out," Harry said smugly.
"So, how are you planning on getting out then?" Bellatrix asked sarcastically.
"Because I still have my emergency pack with me, I just can't get to it until I can access my magic," Harry said in frustration glaring at the silver bracelets.
"I could get it for you, I am very good at wandless magic," Bella offered.
"It only works for me, that's why Rookwood couldn't take it off of me when he searched me," Harry said smugly.
"Well you're taking me with you," Bellatrix said firmly.
"No way, you're not coming with me," Harry exclaimed.
"Then I won't help you get those shackles off," Bellatrix threatened.
"I can make a shiv out of a toothbrush and skewer Rookwood myself," Harry argued.
"You wouldn't get within ten feet before Travers and Dolohov beat you to a pulp," Bellatrix said knowingly.
"I can get you his blood without him even noticing, but I want a vow right now you will take me with you," Bellatrix demanded.
"Fine," Harry sighed knowing she was right.
He may know muggle fighting, but a wizard that knew how to channel his magic through his body would move faster than he could defend against and Dolohov was one of those wizards.
"Good, I am still beautiful, if I was to come out looking like the me in your memories I would go a little insane too," Bellatrix said matter of factly.
Harry held back the snort, she was already a little insane but no where near as batshit crazy as the Bellatrix he remembered.
He couldn't really deny that she was beautiful, though he would never admit it, her unflattering prison robes, untamed hair, and dirty face couldn't take away from the fact that she was a gorgeous woman.
She was tall for a woman maybe five foot eight or so and her skin was fair as cream making her long ebony hair stand out in contrast, her heavily lidded violet eyes were striking and made his mind go places it should not think about with the killer of his godfather. Add in the fact that she had that hourglass shape to her hips going up to an ample chest and there was no fooling himself, he found her very attractive.
"Fine, I'll get you out of here but then we part ways," Harry said firmly.
"No, I'm staying with you," Bella argued.
"I can't trust you, you're still loyal to him," Harry said getting a little annoyed.
"I'll take a vow that I won't betray you, I don't want to be alone," Bellatrix said sounding like a scared child.
"But you bear the mark, you already swore your allegiance to him," Harry pointed out.
"Cissa can remove it if that makes you happy," Bellatrix pleaded.
"Why would you want to do that? You barely know me," Harry asked sounding confused.
"I can tell you're someone special, I know you're powerful I can feel it, if I stay with you I have a better chance than if I follow the path I followed in your memories," Bellatrix answered sound eerily lucid.
"I'll think about it," Harry said thrown off by that statement.
He knew she would be invaluable to defeating Voldemort before he could regain a body, truthfully she was his only way to one of Tom's anchors so Harry did need her. There was no doubt of how useful she could be, but as he already stated they had a history... in the future.
He had three months to think on this so there was no reason to rush this decision, he had other problems to consider... like her hand drifting towards his crotch again.
"Stop it," Harryetting pulled from his musings.
"I'm bored," she pouted.
'This was going to be a long three months,' Harry thought with resignation.

"Any luck locating that Chrono disturbance?" Head unspeakable Kramer asked.
"No sir, the point of origin must have been behind powerful wards." Saul Croaker replied tiredly.
"That would explain why we can't locate it," Kramer agreed.
"Yes sir, the only option we have is to search all the warded properties in Northern England and Scotland," Croaker replied.
"That will be a nightmare, the two big ones will take months to get clearance for and all the private ones we'll never get permission to search," Kramer said angrily.
"Yes sir, Crouch will never clear us to search the prison and there is even less chance Dumbledore will grant us permission," Croaker agreed.
"Fine, for now go back to your normal work, we'll table this until an opportunity presents itself," Kramer ordered.
"Yes sir," Croaker said going back to his calculations.
Truthfully, he had tabled his research on the disturbance a week after their sensors had picked it up. While he was concerned about a time traveller entering this timeline he was on the brink of making another advance in the time turner he invented a little over a decade ago.
He was an inventor not an investigator and had no interest in chasing a time traveler, he did the required checking and then went back to his project.
'I am so close,' Kroaker thought as he continued his calculations.

They had both just been led back to their cells from the prison shower rooms. The showers were ice cold and the soap was a joke but Harry at least felt cleaner than he did on the way in and he had finally snagged a prisoner robe.
"Those showers are awful, but I was able to use a razor finally," Harry said as he took a seat.
"Me too, the guard let me shave my legs finally" Bellatrix said happily.
"Oh, that's great," Harry said awkwardly.
"Yes they're all smooth now... Where did you get that robe?" Bellatrix demanded apparently just noticing.
"I asked the guard about it last week and he had it ready for me today," Harry said happily.
"I liked the way you were dressed before," Bellatrix pouted.
"It was cold," Harry said with a shrug.
"And Bella was keeping you warm at night," Bellatrix argued.
"Yes you were," Harry conceded.
"Well I had more good news but I don't want to tell you now," Bellatrix said petulantly.
"What news?" Harry asked.
"I'm not telling," Bellatrix repeated.
"Plaese," Harry tried having learned how to deal with her when she was like this.
"Why should I?" Bellatrix asked haughtily.
"Because I'm getting us both out of here, and I will let you have my biscuit tonight," Harry offered.
"Okay then," Bellatrix said happily.
"So what is your news?" Harry asked eagerly.
"I was able to swipe this," Bellatrix said lifting up the right side of her robes past her hip and pulling out a folded up straight razor from the waistband of her knickers.
Harry couldn't stop from staring, her legs were flawless and looked so soft, he hadn't really had much exposure to women since he was abducted in ninety-nine so he was understandably mesmerized by the sight of so much skin.
"Oh, Harry likes how Bella looks under her robes," Bella cooed happily.
"I apologize for staring," Harry said blushing.
"I wanted you to see or I wouldn't have hidden it there," Bellatrix said looking pleased with herself.
"So that's how we can get the blood from Rookwood," Harry said getting back on task.
"Yes, but I need to enchant it so he doesn't notice me cut him," Bellatrix explained.
"Without a wand?" Harry asked surprised.
"I just need my blood for a simple enchantment," Bellatrix said confidently.
"Huh," Harry said forced to take her word for it as that was not something he was familiar with.
"I can also use this to keep my legs silky smooth," Bellatrix whispered in his ear.
O... okay," Harry said shivering a bit it at her breath in his ear.
"So, you're still giving me your biscuit," Bellatrix asked hopefully.
"Yes, it's all yours," Harry assured her.
Cell H.S Twelve, 5/1/1982, 09:32
Harry groaned awake, he was going on two months in prison and he was really starting to feel trapped. He and Bellatrix were getting along well enough and he was starting to enjoy her company at times.
He was beginning to believe that she was only so devoted to Voldemort because he gave her a purpose. From what he had gathered from their conversations she didn't have any real friends growing up.
Her sisters were the only ones who treated her as a person and actually got to know her since her strange personality seemed to scare people off.
Harry also was under the impression that she hated muggleborns so much because of Ted Tonks, he was the reason Andromeda left and took away one of the only two friends she had in the world, she channeled that hurt and betrayal into hatred.
Then when Voldemort rescued her after she had been in here for sixteen years and lost what little sanity she had she clung to that act of kindness and gave him everything she had.
This was all speculation on his part after all he was not a psychiatrist or anything but that was his honest opinion of why she had become what she was.
"It's a pretty good guess," Bellatrix agreed.
Harry jumped having not even noticed her enter his mind, she was very gifted at that at passive legilemency.
"That is very rude," Harry said with a sigh.
"So you were staring into space and I was curious what you were thinking about and it turns out it was me," Bellatrix exclaimed happily.
"You could have just asked," Harry said tiredly as he got up.
"You wouldn't have told me, you were right about Andy though. That mudblood stole my sister from me," Bellatrix said also getting up and going to the loo.
"I really hate that word," Harry said for what felt like the hundredth time.
"And I hate repetition ," Bellatrix said unconcerned.
"So stop saying it and I won't have to repeat myself," Harry said.
"If I stop what will you give me?" Bellatrix asked curiously.
"What do you want?" Harry asked warily.
"A strawberry and peanut butter ice cream from Fortescue's," Bellatrix answered.
"That will have to wait until we get out of here," Harry said now craving the same damn ice cream!
"There is your answer," Bellatrix said with a smirk.
"You are such a brat," Harry exclaimed taking his own turn at the loo.
"Put the seat down when you're done!" Bellatrix demanded.
Harry had finally gotten over some of his embarrassment around Bella, there very small living space meant that privacy was non existant, the guards had refused to bring in another cot so he was forced to share Bella's cot with her not that he really minded anymore.
You are unusually thoughtful this morning," Bellatrix commented.
"Sorry, being trapped in here is really starting to get to me" Harry admitted.
"Yes, imagine how sixteen years would be," Bellatrix said stretching.
"I don't want too," Harry said with a shudder.
Cell H.S Twelve,6/1/1982, 18:58
It finally happened, Harry watched Bartemius Crouch walk oast his cell with a frail old woman leaning on him for support and ten minutes later they walked back out.
That was him?" Bellatrix asked curiously.
"Yep, you just witnessed the first-ever successful escape from Azkaban," Harry said grandly.
"That was pretty boring, remind me to hunt Bart down when we get out of here," Bellatrix said.
"I intend to hunt him down myself," Harry assured her.
"Good, the little twerp was more fanatical than I am and he wasn't even insane," Bellatrix said.
"Oh me and Crouch junior have a history as well," Hary said in remembrance.
"Yes, I saw he impersonated a one-legged Auror for ten months, imagine having to take a bath looking like that," Bellatrix said looking ill.
Harry snorted, "that is a mental image nobody wants, how goes the enchantments?" Harry asked.
"Come take a seat," Bellatrix said.
Nodding Harry came and sat beside her on the cot.
"Good now let me see your hand," Bellatrix said expectantly.
Harry hesitantly extended his hand and she took it with her own, crossing her left leg over her knee she guided his hand to her exposed calf.
"Feel how smooth it is I enchanted it to be extremely sharp, and to never get dull. That's the only way to get such a close shave," she whispered in his ear.
"Thats uh... thats good, so Rookwood won't even feel the cut?" Harry asked trying to concentrate on her words and not how soft she felt under his fingertips.
"Exactly," Bellatrix said pushing his hand away and standing up again.
Harry scowled, she had been pulling stunts like this for the past few weeks just to tease him.
"I'm getting excited," Bellatrix said.
"Why?" Harry asked.
"I'll be a widow soon," Bella said with a smile.
"Huh, then you'll be a Black again," Harry commented.
"Yes, I'll be a Black widow," Bellatrix said after some thought.
"Yeah," Harry said internally cringing at the pun.
'Three more weeks and I'm out of here' Harry thought feeling his anticpation building.
Cell H.S Twelve, 6/12/1982, 17:32
Harry got his first glumpse of Sirius today, the guards were taking him to the showers as Harry was leaving, the poor guy thought he had lost his mind when him and Harry locked eyes.
Harry had undergone a magical ritual to fix his eyes when he joined the unspeakables, so he didn't wear glasses anymore but besides his eyes and nose he was the spitting image of James Potter, they were even around the same height both standing around six foot tall.
Sirius gaped at him until the guards forced him to get moving, yea their next meeting should be intetesting.
"I think that Auror likes me, she gave me a chocolate bar," Bellatrix said happily.
"Which Auror?" Harry asked curiously.
"Redhead, great body but looks like she would chew a man up and spit him out," Bellatrix said in between bites.
"Got to be Bones then," She escorted me to the shower last week," Harry said thoughtfully.
"Want a piece?" Bellatrix offered.
"Yeah," Harry said taking the chocolate and popping it in his mouth.
Harry had just swallowed when he detected something familiar in the aftertaste and froze in horror, "Bellatrix stop eating that it's tainted." Harry said frantically.
"Tainted with what?" Bellatrix asked spitting out the chocolate in her mouth looking worried.
"Poison I think," Harry said thinking frantically as he felt his stomach starting to seize in pain.
Bellatrix doubled over spasming as the poison started taking effect, Harry got up and ran to the door he had just entered through moments ago searching frantically for a guard.
"Help! She's been poisoned I need help now!" Harry screamed through the small barred window set into the oak door.
Nothing, the guards completely ignored him and Harry rushed back to her, Bellatrix was on the floor now foam was coming out of her mouth.
Harry grabbed the chocolate bar and ripped the wrapoer off hoping to figure ot what the poison was and noticed something written on the backside of the wrapoer.
'This is for the Longbottoms.'
Fear and anger coursed through his body like he hadn't experienced since he was living with the Dursleys.
Harry felt his whole body getting hot and something seemed to be building in his cheat, at first he felt like he couldn't breathe and his fury intensified so much he was literally seeing red, the room began to shake and suddenly there was a loud metallic cracking sound as the bracelets fell off his arms before his magic exploded outward in a wave that shook the room and radiated outward.
Harry felt his magic coursing through his body again, it was like being whole after having lost a limb, he finally felt like himself.
He didn't stop to think before he reached to the pouch around his neck and opened it pulling out the shrunken trunk and resizing it.
Digging through the trunk he found his medical kit and dug out two bezoars, Harry forced open Bellatrix's jaw and dropped one down her throat the magical rock seemed to make her swallow it.
Harry popped the other bezoar in his mouth before digging out his old holly wand And his unspeakable robes.
Harry heard a commotion in the hall but paid it no mind as he ran medical scans over Bella in between pulling on his boots and grey battle robe. Her vitals had stabilized thanks to the bezoar.
Once he was dressed he picked up the uneaten part of the chocolate bar and cast the 'revelio' spell and was able to identify the poison she was given.
Harry quickly administered the ready-made antidote, she had been given a large dose of Belladonna.
Harry watched as her breathing evened out pand her muscle spasm slowly calmed.
Harry slowly stood from the floor and pulled his hood over his head as he walked towards the door. The thick oak door had a crack right down the center from the magical backlash.
The guards were almost at the door when Harry lazily flicked his wand exploding the badly damaged door outward, Harry heard screams of shock as the guards were blasted backward into the cell door on the other side of the corridor.
Harry's wand was a blur as he stunned and bound all five of them effortlessly, he may be out of practice but it was just like riding a broom.
Harry turned to look back in his own cell and saw Bella's chest rising and falling normally, this wasn't how he had planned to make his escape but might as well handle his business and get them the hell out of here.
The cell next to his own was where Rabastan LeStrange was housed, with a flick of his want the door burst inward and Harry stepped inside, the scrawny man looked terrified, Harry felt no pity as he cast the killing curse ending the bastard's life, he watched the green light engulf the man before he slumped to the floor.
Three cells down he found Rudolphus' cell, the man looked shocked when the door opened and the man in gray entered the cell.
"Who are you?" Rudolphus asked looking worried.
"Your wife sent me with a message," Harry said calmly.
"What message?" The man asked curiously.
"Avada Kedavra," Harry intoned dispassionately directing the tip of his wand at the man's chest.
Rudolphus who had been sitting on his rack collapsed backward lifelessly his shock etched onto his dead as his eyes stared blankly at the ceiling.
His next stop was two cells over, Augustus Rookwood, Harry opened the cell door and was surprised to see the man seated calmly looking almost intrigued to have a visitor.
"Do I know you?" Rookwood asked by way of greeting.
"I know you, you don't know me," Harry said.
"Are you here to kill me?" Rookwood asked.
"Yes, decapitaire," Harry said waving his wand casually and lopping off the man's head.
An alarm started going off and Harry realized he had to hurry this up, waving his wand at the last cell in the row Harry opened the door to Sirius Black's cell.
"Come on Padfoot it's time to get out of here," Harry said and started walking back towards his cell.
"Who the hell are you?" Sirius demanded hurrying to keep up.
"I'll explain later," Harry said before casting a shield and blocking an incoming spell from striking Sirius.
"Freeze, Aurors drop your wands", the voice of Amelia Bones came from the other end of the hall.
Harry's answer was in the form of a concussion smell aimed at her head, she dodged and retaliated with a bone breaker that Harry rebounded back followed by a cruciatus and a bludgeoner.
Bones dodged her own spell and the cruciatus but stepped right into the bludgeoner which sent her flying through the air before slamming into the floor.
Harry summoned her wand and handed it to Sirius, before continuing on towards his cell.
Bellatrix was sitting up when Harry got there looking through his trunk.
" Grab the broomsticks," Harry told her lowering his hood.
Bella didn't ask questions and pulled out a comet two-sixty and a Nimbus two thousand. Harry waved his wand over the trunk and shrunk it before summoning it and returning it to the pouch around his neck.
"What is going on?" Sirius demanded shakily," Pointing his wand at Harry.
In response Harry pointed his wand at the exterior wall and blasted an eight-foot wide hole in it spraying stone all over the courtyard below.
"Simple, fly that broom out past the prison wards and apparate to Grimmauld Place, we'll meet you there", Harry said tossing Sirius the Comet.
Harry mounted the Nimbus and looked at Bella, " Let's go, back up will be here soon."
Nodding Bella climbed on behind him and wrapped her arms around his chest, "come on Padfoot," Harry said before kicking off and zooming through the hole in the wall.
Sirius flew right behind him doing his best to stay with them as the wind and rain buffeted both brooms around. Off in the distance Harry could see three large boats loaded with Aurors headed for the island.
"Almost there Harry said as he felt them crossing through the wards, when they did cross them Harry concentrated on the courtyard in front of Grimmauld place and spun on the spot disapoearing with a small 'Pop'.
They appeared with barely a sound hovering a few feet off the ground on the broom in the court yard of Grimmauld Place.
There was an audible 'pop' and Harry spun around wand raised only to see Sirius sprawled on the ground having tripped over the broomstick upon landing.
"Good you made it here intact, now can you please let us inside she's been poisoned and we're sitting ducks out here?" Harry asked.
"Fine, but then I want some damn answers," Sirius demanded hotly.
"Shut up Siri," Bellatrix said sounding pretty weak.
"You shut up, Sirius said as he lead them towards number twelve.
'Oh I can already tell this is going to be fun,' Harry thought with a sigh.
Azkaban Prison,North Sea,6/12/1982, 20:21
The place was a mad house, the whole Auror Corp was here as half of the high security wing was either dead or had escaped.
The two that eacaped were the worst of the worst, the three that were dead were not a loss and Moody secretly thought their deaths were the silver lining in this situation.
"Alright Bones what the hell happened?" Moody demanded stomping over to his number one who was being patched up by a healer.
"I did something really stupid," Bones admitted grimacing as she apoeared to be in a lot of pain.
What did you do?" Moody demanded.
"I passed on a present from Augusta to Bellatrix LeStrange, I knew it was probably tainted but you saw what they did to Frank and Alice I couldn't bring myself to care," Ameila said weakly.
"So how did that lead to this?" Moody demanded.
"The other prisoner in her cell had a magical outburst, we went to investigate and he had a wand. Alastor he wiped the floor with my team like they were first he started killing inmates until I triggered the alarm. When he heard the alarm sound he freed Sirius Black. I confronted him and he easily overpowered me, hit me with a bludgeoner to the chest and I blacked out," Amelia explained looking embarrassed.
"What prisoner in LeStrange's cell?" Moody demanded.
"Tall dark haired man, looked a bit like James Potter," Amelia said thoughtfully.
"And the fact there was a male prisoner sharing a cell with a married female didn't send up any red flags?" Moody asked incredulously.
"At the time it didn't but now I can't understand why no one said anything," Amelia said sounding confused.
"Fuck, this is sounding like something above my pay grade, I'll have to call in the spooks and see what they know," Moody said resignedly.
'Somtimes I hate my job,' Moody thought in frustration.
