Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Removing the Marks of the Past

Number Twelve Grimmauld Place, London, 6/22/1982,12:00

Harry strolled down to the kitchen feeling better than he had in months. He had slept in later than he usually would but in his defense light was creeping in through the windows before him and Bellatrix were properly sated.

Harry pushed open the door to the kitchen and froze, Amelia Bones was sitting at the kitchen table only wearing one of Sirius' tee shirts and sipping a cup of tea.

"So I take it everything went well last night?" Harry asked as he strolled into the kitchen.

Amelia jumped at seeing him enter only to pale when she realized she didn't have her wand with her.

"Come to finish me off have you?" she asked trying to sound confident.

"You mean that little duel in Azkaban?" Harry asked with a snort before taking a seat at the table.

"You almost killed me," Amelia accused angrily.

"I might have overpowered the spell a bit, if I had been trying to kill you then you'd be dead," Harry said dismissively as a plate appeared in front of him.

"Who are you and what were you doing in her cell in the first place?" Amelia demanded.

"You can call me Harry and who I really am and why I was there I cannot speak of," Harry said before taking a bite of corned beef.

"You're a spook," Amelia said understanding the meaning of his words.

"I can neither confirm or deny that but the gray robes I was wearing should have told you all you need to know," Harry said before taking another bite.

"I tried to warn you I had company over, but your door shocked me," Sirius said entering the kitchen with Bellatrix not far behind him.

"You could have warned me as well Black," Amelia snapped.

"No one in this house will harm you," Harry said as Bellatrix took a seat beside him glaring daggers at Amelia.

"So she's here as well," Amelia said tiredly

"Yes, I am a Black, this is the house of Black" Bellatrix said slowly as if speaking to someone slow.

"I suppose it is fortunate that you are here, the ministry has accepted Madam Tonks application for the retrial of Ms. Bellatrix Black, the trial will take place July first in court room ten. Ms. Black is to be on house arrest until that time," Amelia said in an official tone of voice.

"How would you know that Amy, this is your day off?" Sirius demanded.

"Alastor sent me an owl just a few minutes ago, he had a hunch you would be able to inform her," Amelia said with a smirk.

"Now why I have you here Auror Bones, why did you try to poison Bellatrix?" Harry asked pointedly.

"I didn't know the chocolate was poisoned, Augusta told me to give it to her as a peace offering," Amelia said looking perturbed.

"So what did you two get up to last night?" Sirius asked trying to steer the subject to safer waters.

"Judging by how Bones is dressed the same thing as you," Bellatrix said matter of factly.

Before Sirius could comment a pink haired girl tumbled out of the fireplace, she shakily got to her feet and looked around.

"Wotcher, mums coming right behind me," she declared before taking a seat beside Harry.

"I take it your dad's working today?" Harry asked amused.

"No, but he is trying to sleep he's working nights this week," Tonks explained.

"Makes sense," Harry agreed before going back to his lunch.

"Got any more of that," Tonks asked hopefully looking at his plate.

"Kreacher, please fix a plate for Tonks and Andromeda," Harry asked the elf kindly.

A plate appeared in front of the girl and Harry had to stop her from digging right in, "What do we say?"

"Thank you Kreacher," Tonks said hopefully.

"Good," Harry said and gestured for her to eat which she did with enthusiasm.

Harry was about to start eating again when he caught Sirius staring at him incredulously and sighed before asking, "what?"

"You made her tell that toad thank you," Sirius said looking horrified.

"And you wonder why he doesn't like you," Harry said with a shake of his head.

"He's evil everybody likes me," Sirius defended.

Before Harry could comment Andromeda stepped gracefully out of the fireplace and looked over the occupants of the kitchen.

"Ah, I see my cousin was successful," Andromeda said to a blushing Amelia.

"Good afternoon Andi, I'm just going to go get dressed now," Amelia said before scurrying out of the kitchen.

Beside him Harry heard Tonks giggle and Harry looked at her quesioningly.

"I could see her bum," Tonks said simply making Harry chuckle.

"Don't corrupt my daughter Harry," Andromeda warned.

"I would never, this was all Sirius' fault," Harry defended.

"How is this my fault?" Sirius demanded

"Can I have some juice please?" Tonks asked before Harry could answer Sirius.

Harry reached over to the pitcher and poured her a glass before casting a spell on the glass and handing it to the girl.

"What did you do to the glass?" Andromeda asked curiously.

"I put a charm on it so the only way liquid will leave the glass is if its dank," Harry said with a smirk.

As if to prove his point there was a thunk as Tonks accidentally knocked the glass over but nothing came out the liquid seemed to be trapped behind an invisible barrier.

"Amazing, what spell was that?" Andromeda asked eagerly.

"The never spill charm, it's in 'Child Care for the Everyday Witch", Harry said with a grin.

Harry had spent months trying to find the spell Voldemort had placed on that basin in his cave, he had never found a use for it until yesterday when a nine year old Nymphadora Tonks came over for lunch.

The spell was actually designed for toddlers so the didn't make a mess at the dinner table, how Tom Riddle came across the spell Harry had no idea, but found the idea of Tom taking care of a child absurd.

"So I came here to inform you that my application for a retrial has been accepted, I think the ministry is hoping you are proven innocent so they don't have to report your escape," Andromeda told Bellatrix as a plate appeared in front of her.

"Huh, I didn't catch that when Amelia informed us earlier but that makes perfect sense," Harry said after some thought.

"What are we having for dessert?" Tonks asked from beside him.

"I don't know, you'll just have to wait until everyone is done," Harry said with a smirk.

"I want ice cream," Bellatrix said from his other side.

"It depends on what Kreacher has whipped up," Harry said with a shrug.

"Fine," Bellatrix said with a pout.

"So any other developments besides my cousin living up to his animagus form?" Andromeda asked curiously.

"Harry and Bella sh-

" Not in front of the child," Harry warned.

"He's right Siri learn some discretion," Andromeda agreed.

"I apologize Nymphadora," Sirius said innocently.

Tonks turned to Harry and whispered, " he's what my daddy would call a wanker."

Harry snorted and nodded his agreement at Nymphadora.

"What did she say?" Bellatrix asked curiously.

"She was asking me if Sirius was touched in the head," Harry said easily.

"Oi Potter, how date you turn my sweet little cousin against me?" Sirius demanded.

"Good lord you're an idiot Black," Harry said upon seeing the looks he was getting from Andromeda and her daughter.

"You can't be Harry Potter you're way to old," Tonks exclaimed.

"Thanks a lot Padfoot," Harry said tiredly.

"Come on Nymphadora I need to drop you of with your dad," Andromeda said after some thought.

"But I haven't had dessert," Tonks protested.

"I'll have Kreacher bring you an ice cream," Harry offered before hearing a throat clearing beside him.

"Okay thank you Harry," Tonks said before getting up and following her mother.

"You're spoiling her, and you didn't even offer to get me an ice cream," Bellatrix pouted when the two Tonks women disappeared into the floo.

"Kreacher, please get a chocolate cone from Fortescue's and take it to Nymphadora and then pick up three chocolate, one strawberry peanut butter, and one mint chocolate chip cone and bring it back here," Harry ordered hoping the ice cream would help diffuse the tension.

"Yes master Harry," Kreacher said before disappearing with a soft 'pop'.

"How come everybody likes you better?" Sirius exclaimed dramatically.

"Don't even start with that, I gave you one secret and you couldn't even keep that for a week!" Harry exclaimed irritably.

"I'm sorry, it just slipped out," Sirius said weakly.

'pop'

Kreacher appeared with their cones about the same time as a determined Andromeda Tonks stepped back into the kitchen from the floo.

"Alright, what did my degenerate cousin mean and don't think you can distract me with ice cream," Andromeda said taking the cone Kreacher offered her and taking a bite.

Before Harry could reply Amelia walked in wearing muggle style jeans and an 'ACDC' tee-shirt, "what's going on, where's the sprog at?" Amelia asked looking around.

"We needed to talk without her hearing things she shouldn't," Andromeda said handing Amelia her ice cream cone.

"It must be serious if you're starting this conversation out with ice cream," Amelia said looking wary.

"Alright Harry, why did Sirius call you Potter?" Andromeda demanded.

"Because that is my surname," Harry said as if it were obvious.

"Wait your name is Harry Potter," Amelia exclaimed.

"Harry James Potter to be exact," Harry answered honestly.

"Impossible Harry Potter is not even two years old," Amelia argued.

"The one from this time period is, I am twenty-four years old," Harry said seriously.

"This time period, you expect us to believe you're a time traveler?" Andromeda asked incredulously.

"I don't care if you believe me or not, I only told two people and one of them couldn't keep his gob shut," Harry said irritably.

"Alright let's say we believe you, why were you in Azkaban?" Amelia demanded.

"Augustus Rookwood caught me and my team on a raid, he killed my team and sent me back to that cell so I could suffer the dementors for the next sixteen years," Harry explained with a scowl.

"You forgot his other goal," Bellatrix piped up.

"Oh bugger are you on the potion," Harry said remembering the night before.

"I am, I cast the spell too just to be safe," Bellatrix assured him.

"What was the other reason you were sent back?" Amelia asked getting back on task.

"To get me pregnant so the dark lord could use my child to control the Black and Potter fortunes," Bellatrix answered angrily.

"Did you know any of us from your time?" Andromeda asked looking intrigued.

"Just you, everyone else in this room was dead by the time I traveled back," Harry said sadly.

"Did you know Nymphadora?" Andromeda asked hopefully.

"I did, I was her son's godfather but she was killed in the battle of Hogwarts," Harry said sadly.

"Oh," Andromeda said looking horrified.

"The battle of Hogwarts who were you fighting?" Amelia asked looking worried.

"Voldemort and his death eaters," Harry explained.

"But you killed him last October," Andromeda objected looking alarmed.

"No, just wounded, he'll be back," Harry said confidently.

"Can't you stop him from returning?" Amelia asked hopefully.

"Possibly but there a lot of things that need to be taken care of first," Harry answered honestly.

"Why are you sitting around then, you need to get out there and stop him before he hurts my baby," Andromeda demanded.

"It's not that simple, and I have already dealt him quite a few blows since I've been here, five of his death eaters are no longer in his service," Harry explained calmly.

"Would you swear a vow that everything you have told us is the truth?" Amelia asked.

"Harry drew his wand and rested it across his chest before saying, " I Harry James Potter do swear on my life and magic that everything I have said about being from the future and my true identity is the truth, so mote it be!"

There was a blinding flash of light before Harry raised his wand over his head and incanted "expecto patronus," a large serpent patronus slithered out of his wand making Bellatrix gasp in recognition and the others cover their eyes as the patronus' luminance increased in intensity.

"I'm pretty sure you're telling the truth," Andromeda said in a deadpan voice.

"No shit Andy, I think I'm blind," Sirius said blinking rapidly.

"Sorry that spell was always a specialty of mine, though the form was new, usually it's a stag like my father's animagus form," Harry said nonplussed.

"That new form was Bella's animagus form," Bellatrix said before shifting into a massive cobra making Sirius shriek and climb up on the table.

"You look absolutely gorgeous," Harry hissed out in parseltongue making Andy and Amelia flinch.

"You're a parsel mouth," Bellatrix hissed out delightedly as she slithered up his body and her head came to rest on his shoulder.

"Yes, Voldemort passed the gift to me that Halloween night," Harry said stroking her head gently.

"You're a parsel mouth?" Sirius asked from his position on the dining room table.

"Yep, now enough with all the questions," Harry said taking a seat with Bellatrix still coiled around him.

"I am going to sneak into Sirius' room like this tonight," Bellatrix hissed into his ear making him look at Sirius up on the table and snicker at the thought of how his godfather would react.

"Alright I think we can wrap this up for now, but I want to talk more about it later," Amelia said in a no-nonsense tone.

"I need to get back to the house before Nymphadora drives Ted mad but I will be back tomorrow to talk to Cissa," Andromeda said simply before taking het leave.

"Alright Black it's been fun but I gotta go see my family, floo me next Thursday," Amelia said to Sirius who had finally gotten of the table but was eying Bellatrix warily.

"Good bye Bones," Sirius said giving her a kiss before walking her to the fireplace.

As soon as Ameilia stepped into the green flames Bellatrix slithered off of Harry's shoulder and raced toward Sirius, he didn't notice until he turned from the fireplace and saw the snake wasn't on Harry's shoulders.

Sirius looked down and saw the cobra slithering towards him and gave a feminine like shriek before running from the kitchen.

Bella changed back and closed the door pointing her wand at the doorknob before turning to Harry and asking, "do you remember the suggestion I gave you last night?"

She walked over to stand with her back to him and placed her hands on the table before looking over her shoulder at him.

"Take me, Harry," Bellatrix said in a seductive voice wiggling her bum against him.

Harry grinned before unbuttoning his pants, there was no way he would turn this down.

Number Twelve Grimmauld Place, London, 6/24/1982, 11:55

Harry had instructed Kreacher to prepare some sandwiches and a salad with a french onion soup, Andromeda had already arrived and Sirius had gone to meet up with Remus.

Last night Bellatrix had transformed into her animagus form and slithered into Sirius's room, Harry had woke to his godfather screaming, he had opened his bedroom door in time to see Sirius fleeing down the hall with a king cobra in hot pursuit Harry could make out her snakelike laughter as she passed him.

"Cissa should be here any minute," Andromeda said nervously bringing Harry out of his thoughts.

"I know, just relax," Harry told Andy gently.

"I am relaxed, where is Bellatrix?" Andromeda asked.

"Right here," Bella exclaimed as she entered the kitchen, she was wearing one of her nicer acromantula silk robes that seemed to flow over her body.

"Wow, I really like that robe," Harry said appreciatively, it was a dark purple and complimented her eyes and skin tone very well.

"Perhaps if you're good you can take it off of me later," Bella purred.

"So you two have become intimate," Andromeda asked frowning slightly.

"Yes, Harry shagged Bella rotten on this very table after you left yesterday," Bella cooed happily.

"At least somebody is getting some attention, around here," Narcissa's said from the fireplace having arrived unnoticed a moment ago.

"Hello Cissa," Bellatrix exclaimed happily.

"Bella, what would your husband say if he knew you were cavorting with another man?" Narcissa asked disapprovingly.

"You'll have to dig him up and ask him, Harry killed him before we left Azkaban," Bellatrix said with a grin.

"That is actually very comforting news considering the service I wish you to perform for me, at least I know you will be able to follow through," Narcissa said looking at Harry.

"I wouldn't have agreed if I wasn't capable of doing it," Harry assured offering her a seat at the table.

After the four of them were seated and lunch had been served Narcissa asked, "So Andromeda how did you manage to get an invite, if I remember correctly the last time you and Bellatrix saw one another she threatened to kill you?"

"Sirius sent me here to inform Harry of his capture and to let him know Siri was getting a trial, we talked out some of our problems while Harry spoiled my daughter with ice cream," Andromeda said before taking a spoonful of her soup.

"Harry does seem to like the little snot," Bellatrix said thoughtfully.

"She listens pretty well and she has the right measure of Sirius," Harry said with a shrug.

"What is it you did for a living before your difficulties?" Narcissa asked looking at Harry expectantly.

"I can't directly 'speak' of it but I was part of an anti terrorist-team that was tasked with eliminating threats to magical Britain," Harry said making air quotes around the word speak.

"I see and how was it you ended up in Azkaban?" Narcissa pressed feeling more intrigued by this man.

"I can't tell you at this time, perhaps after our agreement is concluded I can fill you in," Harry said apologetically.

"Very well, since we have arrived on the subject I will go ahead and tell you that I believe that I can remove the mark, though it will be very painful," Narcissa warned looking at Bellatrix.

"When can you remove it?" Bella asked eagerly not bothered by Cissa's warning.

"After lunch, it really isn't a difficult procedure but it will be taxing on us both," Narcissa explained.

"Good, if you are successful I will gladly complete the task, though it might need to wait until after Bella's trial," Harry told Narcissa.

"Trial, she already had a trial?" Narcissa said looking confused.

"Andy has filed for me to have another trial, thanks to Lucy I will be using the imperius defense," Bellatrix exclaimed happily.

"Brilliant, the dark faction will have no choice but to vote in her favor," Narcissa said sounding impressed.

"That's what got Andromeda an invitation to this lunch," Harry said with a grin.

"I actually invited myself, if Bellatrix's mark is removed it will make her case stronger as the prosecution will have no visible proof she was a death eater," Andromeda said looking a bit smug.

"It is good to see you again Andi," Narcissa said softly.

"You too Cissa," Andromeda said her eyes going blurry.

"It is nice to see both of my sisters together," Bellatrix admitted softly.

"Alright enough of the sentiments, are you ready to remove that blight from your skin?" Narcissa asked rising from her seat and conspicuously wiping the corner of her eyes.

"Yes, where are we going to do this?" Bellatrix asked nervously.

"The drawing-room," Narcissa said as she walked through the kitchen door.

The other three quickly followed behind her, when they entered the drawing-room they found Narcissa setting up a workstation in the back of the room, she had was seated in a desk chair and putting items on a small end table beside her, directly in front of her was a chaise lounge that was meant for Bellatrix.

"First things first, I have enchanted this coin to store magic, I want you to channel your magic into it until it flashes blue, Narcissa said picking up the coin from the table and handing it to Bellatrix.

Bellatrix took a seat on the chaise then accepted the coin from Narcissa, she closed her hand around it before closing her eyes in concentration, it didn't take long before there was a flash of blue coming out of the gaps in her fist.

" That's good Bella, Now I need to draw some of your blood," Narcissa said gently.

Bellatrix handed Narcissa the coin and let her draw the required blood from her palm.

Harry and Andromeda had taken seats watching what was happening but staying out of the way. Harry watched as Narcissa poured the vial of blood she had drawn and poured it into a larger vial of clear premade potion and shook the vial up making the potion turn blood red.

"Go ahead and lay down Bella, I will draw the runes on the vessel first and then draw the reverse runes around your mark," Narcissa explained as she transferred the potion into the reservoir of a fountain pen.

Harry watched as Narcissa began drawing the runes in the blood ink around the rim of the coin Bellatrix had transferred her magic into before drawing a large rune in its center.

Once she had finished with the coin she began drawing the reverse of those same runes in a circle around Bellatrix's faded dark mark before drawing the larger rune directly on the mark.

"That tickled," Bellatrix said when Narcissa had finished.

"I'm sorry dear but this last part is going to hurt a lot, so I will have to immobilize you, I literally have to rip the mark out of you," Narcissa explained looking apologetic.

"Go ahead," Bellatrix said sounding determined.

Nodding Narcissa cast the full body bind over Bella before bringing the tip of her wand to rest on the large rune in the center of Bellatrix's mark. The wand tip seemed to attach to the rune almost like a powerful magnet would to steel, Narcissa started lifting her wand and the mark seemed to rise with it, the mark looked almost two dimensional floating a few inches over Bella's arm, there seemed to be black tendrils coming off of the mark that went deep into Bellas skin.

Narcissa gave a mightly tug and a muffled shriek came from Bellatrix's closed mouth, the mark seemed to be attached to her core and every time Narcissa tugged on it further Bellatrix would let out cries of pain. Time seemed to drag very slowly the progress could be measured in inches every tug Narcissa made on the mark was followed by muffled cries of pain from Bellatrix.

Finally, Narcissa gave one more mighty tug and the tendrils of magic were pulled completely free from Bella's arm, there was a sucking sound like you would hear from a bathtub when the last of the water drained out and the mark was pulled quite violently from the tip of Narcissa's wand and sucked into the coin, the runes and their reverse images lining up perfectly, the coin flashed a bright red and Narcissa let out a sigh of relief.

Harry looked at Bellatrix and noticed she had lost consciousness either from the pain or the draw on her magic.

Harry got up and wandered over to Bellatrix's side, he did catch a glimpse at the coin which now had a faded dark mark on its surface.

"That went well, if my calculations are correct the mark will survive on the coin until it consumes all the magic she channeled into it," Narcissa told Harry when she saw him looking at the coin.

"How did that work anyway?" Harry asked curiously.

"The mark is trapped in between two halves of a runic array drawn in its original host's blood, the array and the mark both draw magic from the coin which was powered up by its original host's magic. I am basically tricking the mark making it think it is still attached to its original host. When it uses up all the magic in the coin the mark will completely disappear." Narcissa answered as she started putting away her things.

"How long will she be out?" Harry asked as he stroked Bellatrix's hair gently.

"A couple of hours," Narcissa said as she scrutinized Bellatrix's arm looking pleased with the end results.

The place where the mark had been was pink looking like Bellatrix had a circular sunburn but otherwise, there was no sign the dark mark had once marred her skin.

"Well done Cissa," Andromeda said before pulling her surprised sister in for a hug.

Narcissa's features softened imperceptibly as she returned the hug and whispered something into her sister's ear Harry couldn't make out what she said but Andi nodded tears leaking out of the corners of her eyes.

"I have to get back before Lucius returns from his meeting with Lord Parkinson, I will be by in the next few days maybe I can catch my cousin on my next visit," Narcissa said as she separated from her sister.

"Thank you for this Lady Malfoy,' Harry said gratefully.

" Please call me Cissa," Narcissa said.

"I will, when you come by next time could you bring a rough schedule of Lucius' routine, I want to begin making plans," Harry asked.

"I will until then, goodbye Harry," Narcissa.

"Goodbye Cissa, and thank you," Harry said as Narcissa left the room escorted by Andromeda.

Harry was glad the mark was gone, he did feel bad Bellatrix had to suffer through that ordeal, but he knew she would bounce back. Harry scooped her up in his arms and carried her up to their bedroom, once he pulled off her shoes he tucked her in and headed back down to the kitchen.

When Harry entered the kitchen he was bombarded by an excitable pink-haired girl.

"Harry, mum said we were staying over for supper," Tonks said happily as he took his usual seat.

"Good maybe Sirius will be back by then and I can tell you all about the prank your aunt Bella played on him last night," Harry said smiling at the memory.

"Did it have something to do with her animagus form?" Andromeda asked entering the kitchen.

"It just might have," Harry said with a smirk.

"He was always terrified of snakes," Andromeda said holding back a giggle.

Sirius arrived a little while later lookng to be in a good mood, he even brought Remus with him though the man seemed nervous to be around Harry.

"Andy, Harry this is my old friend Remus Lupin," Sirius said in introduction.

"Remus this is my cousin Andy and my friend Harry," Sirius said.

"What about me, you forgot to introduce me," Tonks exclaimed.

"Ah yes, this is my annoying little cousin Nymphadora," Sirius said a mischievous glint in his eyes.

"You know I hate that name, it's just Tonks," the little girl exclaimed angrily.

"You know when she gets a wand she's going to remember all of this?" Harry asked Sirius.

"I won't get a wand for two more years," Tonks complained.

"When you do I'll teach you the stinging hex and you can get Sirius back," Harry promised.

"Why would you do that?" Sirius asked dramatically.

"Because it will amuse me," Harry said with a shrug before tirning to Remus and asking, " are you staying for dinner?"

"No, I just came by to pick up a book I lent Sirius years ago," Lupin said quietly.

"Yeah I'll just go get it, I think it's in my room," Sirius said.

"Be quiet in the hall Bella is asleep," Harry warned.

"So what do you do for a lving?" Andromeda asked Remus as Sirius headed up the stairs.

"I work in a muggle bookstore here in London," Remus answered.

"Oh, that sounds interesting," Andromeda said politely.

"What is your surname?" Remus asked Harry eyeing him curiously.

"Peverell," Harry lied easily making Andromeda frown.

"Are you related to the Potter's?" Remus pressed.

"Distantly," Harry said feeling rather uncomfortable lying to one of his father's old friends.

"You certainly look a lot like-

" SIRIUS BLACK I'M GOING TO KiLL YOU!" Harry heard Bellatrix shriek cutting Remus off midsentence.

There was a loud bang before they heard Sirius yell, "NOT AGAIN!" and they could hear the sound of running feet on the steps.

Not long after the kitchen door burst open and Sirius ran in followed by a snapping king cobra a few feet behind him making Remus gasp and jump out of the way.

"I told you not to disturb her," Harry told Sirius who had climbed on top of the table.

"I wanted to get her back for that prank she pulled last night," Sirius defended backing away from the side of the table the cobra was climbing up.

Sighing Harry got up and gently lifted the large snake and draped her over his shoulder, Bella coiled around him tightly and looked him in the eye before speaking, "He snuck into my room and sprayed me with a jet of water!"

You woke her up by spraying her with water, do you have any idea what she went through not an hour ago?" Harry demanded.

"You can understand the snake?" Remus asked looking alarmed.

Sighing Harry flicked his wand and a stunner slammed into Remus's face dropping the man like a sack of potatoes.

"What the hell Harry," Sirius exclaimed angrily making Bellatrix hiss threateningly.

"I don't trust him not to run off to Dumbledore," Harry said with a shrug before pointing his wand at Remus and saying, "obliviate."

"That isn't right, I have known Remus since I was eleven years old, I trust him completely," Sirius defended.

"Don't give me that load of dung, you suspected he was the spy before the war ended," Harry said tiredly.

"But he wasn't, you shouldn't have done that," Sirius said angrily.

"Just get his damn book and get him out of here," Harry ordered.

"Fine, but this conversation isn't over Sirius said angrily stomping back up the stairs.

Harry heard snoring and looked to see Bellatrix had fallen back to sleep coiled around him.

Sirius was still in a huff about how Harry had dealt with Lupin but he had calmed down somewhat.

Once Sirius brought the book down Harry sat Lupin in a chair and revived him, Harry had removed the memory of his last name, any mention of Bellatrix, and his ability to understand snakes from Remus' mind.

Once the werewolf had gotten his book from Sirius he politely excused himself and left through the floo.

They were all currently seated around the table, Bellatrix had woken and changed back to her human form much to Tonk's delight, and was still shooting Sirius angry looks.

" Alright, I don't know if we can all live under the same roof and not end up killing each other," Harry said after dinner was finished.

"I planned on moving into my old flat now that I've been cleared, I think I will start tomorrow," Sirius said stiffly.

"Would you mind if we continued to stay here?" Harry asked politely.

"No, you can be a real wanker but you're still family, and I have no interest in this dump," Sirius said making Tonks giggle.

"Language, Sirius," Andromeda admonished.

"Sorry Andy, so I suppose I will head over there tomorrow I need to get it ready for when I pick up Harry from his aunts," Sirius said sounding excited.

"Dumbledore will try to interfere in that," Harry warned.

"He already tried, I had James and Lily's will read after my trial and it said plainly that Harry's custody would transfer to me in the event they both died," Sirius said quietly.

"Good, my aunt and uncle were horrible people," Harry said seriously.

"I thought you were Harry Potter?" Tonks asked curiously.

"Oh god, you're not going to obliviate her to are you?" Sirius exclaimed worriedly, making Andromeda narrow her eyes dangerously.

"No, I trust her," Harry told Sirius before turning to Tonks and saying, "this is the other Harry Potter."

"The one that defeated you-know-who?" Tonks asked in awe.

"Yep, the famous one," Harry agreed.

"Yes, this Harry is the infamous one," Sirius exclaimed pointing at Harry.

The rest of dinner was filled with idle chit-chat and Harry retelling the story of Sirius' being awoken the night before by Bellatrix in her cobra form, the response wasn't as good as Harry had hoped since everyone had seen Sirius fleeing from Bellatrix a few hours ago.

As everyone sat around the table joking and enjoying Kreacher's fine cooking Harry couldn't help but think that maybe going back in time was a good thing, if he did things right a lot of people could be saved.

"I have to try," Harry thought before joining back into the conversation.
