Standing below the same yet different beacon, a familiar yet unfamiliar view came before Sam: primitive buildings, a moderate population, and staff at the beacon.
It had been a long time.
And the same yet different voice entered his ear.
"Boy, your name?"
"Rahul Verma."
"Identification Number?"
"429583056587."
"Your data has been filled."
Nodding, Sam was still waiting.
"It's a manual containing every important piece of information which you should adhere to."
Sam took a small, compiled book and curiously flipped through the pages.
Same content.
The most important rule is forbidden to fight within the campus range.
"The most important rule is forbidden to fight within the campus range," Sam repeated as the staff reiterated everything.
Knowing the basic rules, he nodded and moved from there.
One of the rules was also that the beacon was always set up in the middle of the campus, so newbies didn't have to worry too much about it.
Moving along, he stopped before a double-story building made of blocks of brick and mud.
A poster hung: Lodging Building.
Coming before a window, he stood and pulled a string.
Tring*
The window opened, and a face appeared.
"New batch?"
"Yes."
"Give me."
"Oh!" Sam forgot about the ID card just given to him for this planet.
Taking it out, he slipped the ID between the gap in the net.
Without raising his hand, the person continued.
"Since you are a newbie, you will be given free lodging for one month, but you have to find your own food."
Since they were the staff of the government, they compiled the newbies' gifts for Rahul.
"Take this."
"Yes, sir." Taking back the ID card, he moved from there while glancing at his ID.
Identification Card: Mega Planet
Name: Rahul Verma
Affiliation: Verma Family
ID number: 429583056587
Building no: 310 [Free: 1 month]
Status: Newbie
Coming before building number 310, he used the key, and the lock opened.
Chiii*
Entering the building, he saw the same: a sleeping bed, a pot, and a hanger on the wall.
Nothing had changed.
Taking out the cloth, a pot, and a sleeping bed from his storage ring, he replaced all of them and put the previous items in the corner of the room.
The building only had a bedroom and a bathroom, just enough for sustaining life.
He laid on the bed, and his thoughts drifted since today had already been wasted.
...
Coming out of the room, he noticed passersby, and everyone seemed busy in their own lives as they formed groups.
Organizations may also exist here.
Soon, he shook his head.
I'm a newbie, so I need to grind before joining anyone.
Stretching, he moved to collect any information.
Roaming, a voice entered his ear.
"Newbie! Want to form a team?"
Giving it some thought, Sam nodded and moved toward them.
"Which beast are we going to hunt?"
"Elite."
"Ah!"
"Hey, bro. Are you so surprised? An egg might fit in your mouth."
"Sorry. I was too surprised."
"Hey, bro. No need to be so surprised," but his proud face couldn't be hidden.
"Name?"
"Rahul."
"Okay, Rahul. Want to join the team?"
Since Rahul had nothing to do, he nodded.
"You will thank yourself for today's decision."
"Thanks."
"No need to be so formal. My name is Aman, his name is Munna, his is Rishikesh, and his is Raushan."
"Thanks, everyone, for inviting me."
"Which beast are we going to hunt?"
"Wooden Man: Elite rank."
"What do you use?"
"I can use both a bow and a sword."
"Good, good."
"Let's go," and everyone departed toward the target.
As the team moved, discussions were ongoing.
"First, we will hunt beginners to have better coordination."
Everyone nodded since no one had objections.
"Shh. There's a Wooden Man: Beginner rank."
"Rahul, use your bow."
Without replying, he took out a bow and loaded an arrow.
The Wooden Man was about 50 meters away from him.
Pulling the string to the max, he released.
Swish*
Tearing through the air, the arrow penetrated the Wooden Man's neck.
Lifelessly, the Wooden Man fell to the ground.
"Aim at the head," Aman's voice reached his ear.
Swish*
The arrow penetrated the head.
Another Wooden Man fell to the ground.
"Good."
Everyone came out of the bush, excitedly patting Rahul's shoulder.
"Boy, you did a good job." As a good leader, Aman stood and complimented Sam.
"Thanks."
"Okay, protect us," wielding their own weapons, they charged at the upcoming beginner Wooden Men.
As usual, Sam took at a branch and continued shooting one by one, only interrupting when they got stuck against numerous Wooden Men.
Even though they are elite certificate holders, they have good coordination.
As for their nature, he couldn't determine it so quickly.
If they were worth it, he would invest in them.
That was his goal now since everything had to be taken slowly.
Rushing would only harm him since the tallest tree attracts the sharpest breeze.
Time didn't take long before 30 to 40 Wooden Men fell to the ground.
Krrhhe*
An irritating voice rang out, and a 2.5-meter-tall Wooden Man appeared before their sight.
"Brother, be careful."
"Rahul, don't let anyone get injured."
"Don't worry."
The elite Wooden Man's hand changed into a whip and moved toward the group.
Clink*
Everyone cut down the whip, yet it continued moving toward them.
Swish*
Tearing through the air, an arrow struck the Wooden Man's eye.
Krihhhh!
Everyone hissed as the irritating voice made them the urge to lunge at the beast.
Swish*
Another arrow flew and hit the beast's eye.
Krihhhh!
The whip wildly and randomly attacked everywhere.
"Don't attack for now."
Everyone maintained enough distance as the beast went into a wild state.
Crashing everywhere and tiring its body, the whip slowed down while its head was covered with numerous arrows.
Not wasting any time, Aman, with a sword in his hand, cutting the whip, finally claimed the beast's head.
A voice rang in everyone's head.
